After being left in storage for a few years the owner of this N64 found it chew up by mice. Unfortunately I found much more inside...
See anything you would have done differently? let me know! I'm self taught and learning more each day I'll take any lessons I can get!

The little donut is a ferrite bead. Removes high frequency noises (EMI) from the signal wires :) Basically an iron core that acts line an absorber of energy for the interference from other equipment

I really appreciate it!! The first upload didn't have audio, and the second only had audio in one speaker 😂 I'll get the hang of this eventually 😂

As far as getting sum old stickers off those carts, wat has worked well for me in the past is just soak them with wd40, let it sit for a bit and then I just use my fingernail to scrape it off and once u get it all off that way then I use alcohol to clean the surface up so there’s no oily residue left from the wd40

I’ve been doing my own repairs and mods on and off for the past year or two and it’s the best feeling bringing back handhelds and consoles to life. Even if it’s only as simple and corroded battery terminals or sumthing as many consoles and handhelds get thrown in the bin wen the repair may not b that bigger issue to sort out. Keep up the great content

Its Arctic Lab Services, but that's ok. It's not an easy task. A little bit of heat gun helps with the stubborn ones. I didn't find that out till after I made my video. I made it look easy with the magic of editing. lol. Great videos. BTW, thanks for the "plug". lol.

Was hoping you were going to remove some of the yellowing from the top case of the console.
As I have the same console, but the color/transparency is more crisp/clean looking on mine.
But I do have a controller that is yellowed and made the color look darker like on this console.
Would have been good to see what method you choose to clean it up/restore the original clarity of the plastic.
Other than that, good vid. 👍

@Video Game Restoration I'd love to see you attempt pin replacement on an AMD cpu. For real one of the hardest things I've done. They all just fall right off when I would try to focus on one. I'd like to see how a pro like you would tackle it. Just idea lol. Either way huge fan of your work thanks for the comment

Don't use alcohol to clean labels, it will cause them to come apart.

@@VideoGameRestoration yup, totally gross, also when working with mouse piss/poo contaminated things that you wear adequate personal protection equipment, gloves, safety glasses and n95 respiratory equipment. Plus you wants to get an UV lamp to disinfect things. But in an ideal world it would need to go right to the dumpster.
