ENDURO BIKES ARE BETTER AT ROCK CREEK... PROVE ME WRONG

  • Somehow found my way back to Ride Rock Creek even though I really dislike spending money to ride my bike on relatively mediocre trails but here we are and we make the best of it. Any day on the bike is better than a day off the bike. The team had a couple spills but came out unscathed. Couldve been bad but wasn't. To the title... I rode my DH Rig (Supreme v4 29) and found that the terrain was too mellow and flat to really get the most out of a full on DH race rig. My Yeti SB160 is substantially faster at all of these trails, with the exception of Stampede and it even held that trail just fine. I just need to learn the trail better to remember lines. Its definitely a proper race track with crazy amounts of lines you can take. The obstacles and features are also better suited to an enduro bike and maybe even into a longer trail bike as there is nothing too big outside of Stampede. I also really dislike that Rock Creek is the most expensive bike park around and only has 5 trails... a day pas is only $5 cheaper that a day pass at Whistler. But... They will continue to take my money so who is the real winner here haha.

I am so happy you go out and do this, because I would definitely die trying to do 1/5 of what you do my guy. What is your mental state going down these trails espc at speed??? Awesome vid those trails def need some love tho

Mental state is clear. Part of the reason I ride bikes is because you have to be 100% focused at all times! I’m definitely not the fastest person out here but trying to go fast gives mental clarity that I do t get from anything else. Keep riding my friend’

Realitively mediocre trails? At Rock Creek? Designed and built by a WC DH Racer?
Well, Thats an, uh, interesting perspective...

Thanks for the comment! If you ask around with people who have ridden anything else OTHER than just Rock Creek, you would find that this is actually a common opinion. None of the trails are that difficult (other than stampede which is the only trail that Neko puts his own time into as far as I’m aware). Plus there are only 5-6 trails.
The park is relatively mediocre RIGHT NOW. They have the right people and the resources to make it world class but it’s only a year old at the moment and it shows. It will most likely be the best park around… eventually. But right now, it is not. Kanuga, Sugar, Windrock, Jarrods, and maybe even Beech are more fun and have harder trails. Again, just my opinion but just because a WC racer built a park, doesn’t automatically make it the best thing around. It will most likely get there, but it’s not yet. Cheers!
