SO refreshing to see a non-professional riding trials. It's clearly not a race but a challenge to reach the end, hearing your heart rate go up and down along with the elevation and the gear changes? It's ASMR MTB. Thanks for making the recording!
What is n i c e upon watching this, is the INFORMATION that came with the on-screen footage. Quality, Thank you. Reminds me soo of when I could just cycle my bicycle. I cannot anymore as - BOTH my knees are ''shot ''. I have to watch as to how much I even walk. Running, I can, if I want to endure the pain for the next week. So it be nice to have memories. Now - I just hit the gym. Loving that too. Here again, I push myself to I can go no more. Stop when you '' fall over ''. It be all or nothing. Not a case of abusing your body, just maximising the max it can give you. As one day, we all grow old, the body will eventually lie in the ground and make the worms happy. A free meal.
This was very cool! Thanks for the hard work on trail and adding your data for us to help appreciate the suffer level! Just reminds me how much I missing mountain bike racing.
This is absolute fun. The footage plus the stats gave me real experience. It also helped me learn a few things too. I wish the camera quality was even better. Thank you so much for this experience. Thank you for the stats too.
You are real steam-machine, impressive power and endurance. And great idea to display all track and sensors data, that tells more about race and racer condition, and inspire viewers to training. When I am on Bike, or running, i imagine infront of my sight gauges, that displays "fuel level", "RPM", "throttle", "fuel consumption"... and you control all of that like a captain.
Congratulations to all who participate in this event especially "Peter R." From the Dominican Republic watching that adventure with pure leg.🚴♀️🏅🚴♀️🏅🥂🏆🥂🏆🥂🇭🇹 yeah 🇩🇴
Hello there, fellow mountainbiker! Thank you for sharing your race ride experience with us! You have a good playground. I would truly enjoy mountainbiking there. I'm not an XC racer, but my riding is very much XC-oriented. I adore ascending on my bike very much on-road & esp. off-road. I might wanna try XC racing for the sake of experience. Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines! #RideOn #KeepBiking
Anyone have advice for a 43 year old that just quit smoking after about 18 years or so I have been exercising and ridding my hard tail and want to race I'm nowhere there yet but won't be long maybe next year....Thanks guy's.....Oh forgot to mention I don't have any lung issue's or any breathing problems other than just out of shape lol....
Train constantly 4-5 days a week.. combination of short intervals with steady state rides longer zone2 rides and recovery rides. Add some technique on cornering and banked corners.. then just get racing, learn as you go, best part you’ll improve the more you race 👌🔥🔥🔥💪 get stuck in, you’ll love it.
@@peterjrudge That's amazing! Going to have to give that a go. Yep, you were ahead of me at the start - but unlike me you were in shape for the race. :)
Hi Peter, great video. Do you have to use a Virb camera to be able to overlay garmin stats? Or can you use gopro footage and then use garmin virb edit to overlay data from a garmin watch? Thank you 🙏🏼
@@peterjrudge I also have a follow up to this. I used Dashware Overlay, and Telemetry Overlay. I attempted Virb but I think it failed at loading my video footage. I first used Davinci Resolve 18 and then tried to upload that footage to VIRB but it failed. Do you have issues with it? What process do you use? Thank you for any info you may have. Your video looks great.
At the beginning I thought: Wow, what an athlete. Heart rate of 120 beats at 300 watts of power. But then the heart rate went up to 160 beats within a few seconds. Si I think it was just a problem with the belt 😂
It went together easily in less than an hour. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.
I think 29” wheels for XC racing. Tire width and tread pattern is course specific. Everything with tires is a compromise between traction, comfort, and rolling resistance.
@@peterjrudge ok, but the best compromise, to go as fast as possible while still having good traction, what width should I focus on? I'm now trying some 2.4 but I realize that I've dropped a lot in terms of performance

Garmin 830 tracks the ride, Virb edit software puts the overlay on the video.
