If, after fifty years, I find out that you're no longer making these videos, I will be crushed.

What a video! I really watched it while drinking my coffee. Love the idea of the wedding-coffee-coffeetable book. I drink coffee but don’t know anything about it. Time to change. And I didn’t know that something like coffee table books exist 😄 in Germany there aren’t such things but now I want one for our home aswell 🥰

You learn something every day! I didn't know coffee table books weren't as popular. Let alone nearly non existent in Germany!
Aside from coffee table books, do you read any books? If so what is your favorite book?

Maybe there are some in Germany but in other regions? I simply haven’t seen them yet. But maybe I will find them soon if I watch carefully.
I do read 🥰 am following you for some time yet and love your videos. They are calming and I often agree to your opinions.
Currently reading the second lotr part, looking forward to Patrick Rothfuss after that.
If you are asking for German literature (besides Kafka ofc) I loved „Die Physiker“ von Friedrich Dürrenmatt. I could offer more recommendations but I think this is one of my favourites from a German Author.

Oh and „the book thief“ from Markus Zusak. Don’t know if he is a German author but the book is brilliant.
A very good female author is Cornelia Funke (for children and teens, I would say but you can read them aswell as an adult).
Loved the „inkheart“ books. „Tintenherz“ is the German title

@@alinigurumi6311 That is awesome. Well Thank you so much for following along and hanging out! I wouldn't care to have a channel if I didn't have anyone to talk to about books!
How are you looking Lord of the Rings?
Ugh so excited for you to read Name of the Wind!

@@Thomas.R.Howell definitely No Country for Old Men, I especially love all of his work with the Coen brothers but I’m a huge fan of his work in Blade Runner 2049 as well.
I was fortunate enough to go to a screening of The Man Who Wasn’t There in 35mm and he and his wife had a prescreening panel/q&a and I got an autographed copy of Byways

I like the coffee table & coffee table books, but with a reclining sectional sofa, there’s just not much room for a coffee table in my house. When I did have one, I liked to leave whatever book(s) I was currently reading sitting out there - partially as a matter of convenience, but also as a conversation starter with guests.
I think that we’ve seen a decline in coffee table books because the concept of the coffee table as a piece of living room furniture is on the decline. A staple furnishing of living rooms in decades past, it seems to not be a given anymore. I no longer have one. When I think about the various friends whose homes I’ve visited in the last couple years, I’d say that maybe half of them don’t have coffee tables either.
