- A category 5 super typhoon with winds of up to 235km/hour came marching towards the Philippines - and not one of us was prepared for it.
Sharing with you this mini documentary of the most powerful typhoon that has ever hit our island of Cebu, Philippines in the last 30 years - and how it ravaged half the archipelago, making a total of 9 landfalls in the Central Visayas Regions. Super Typhoon Odette (Rai) left a massive trail of devastation to places who were just starting to recover from the wrath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

I was there in Cebu when this happened. I saw trees being uprooted and roof panels flying off. The next few days were exceptionally hot and fuel was about 99 PHP per liter in some places. Some fuel stations ran out of fuel while people were still lining up! That created a bit of an uproar. And water was near impossible to find in all stores and even malls barely had supply. But we were thankful that we decided to buy an 1,100 liter water tank 9 months before so water wasn't an issue. We waited three and a half weeks for power to be restored and even then our family of 4 used up 75% of the tank in that three and a half weeks.

good for u guys that Rai came there at morning and there still light u can still see anything, but here in Cebu, Bohol, at Negros it landed at night, we can't see anything, only to sleep in nightmare and wake-up a devastating view. I don't understand why does Rai seeks the closest places, Rai even managed to destroy the things we're like impossible to find. And I even witnessed a fire in the air, like I've never seen them before, and one thing about Rai is it's creepy sounds like saying its going to destroy everything.

I live South part of Cebu and Odette been very strong and damaging to many houses and mine wasn't spared.

I experienced Ruping, na alsa gud ang 25kilos nga sako sa bugas, kay pag mata among kusina naanod na sa baha, that was my terrifying memory of Ruping, The earth is evolving, things happened for an earthly reason, same sa dire, naay time mokalit ra og fire ang mga sagbot sa bukid then sunog dayon, that was the time Kindergarten si anak, ang fear nako dire ang linog kay we are situated in a place where there was a huge history of earthquake. Happy to know your family are all safe.

@@ashlydalogdog ang point ko dipa supertyphoon si odette kasi matatawag lang supertyphoon ang bagyo sa pilipinas pag umabot na ang hangin ng 220kph ang hangin ni odette 195kph lang sya at binago lang ito kaylan, na pag umabot ang hangin ng 185kph ay isang supertyphoon na yr. 2022 yata.
