I feel the same way about brown mascara! I tried a bunch of brown/purple mascaras from asian brands last year and I really liked them at first since I was doing more natural looks, but when I did my more colorful looks, it just felt like something was missing. I wear dark brown eyeliner too, and it felt like that just blended into the mascara too, just meh. I prefer a slight contrast between my eyeliner and mascara. It was fun to experiment with but I’m going back to black. If I want a natural mascara look, I’ll just scrape off the excess from the wand before doing a coat.
If you live in Germany the Rival ❤ Me and Rival de Loop from Rossman and Trend it UP from DM mascara's are my favourites 😅, plus the ones from Essence! That means i would never spend more than 10 € for this product!
My favorite mascara I've ever tried is the Milani Highly Rated Anti-Gravity mascara. I love that one so much, they better never discontinue it 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I'd consider myself fancy buying 5$ mascara when mine typically cost uner 3$. I don't wear mascara all the time and I wear dramatic looks. Most of the time, I don't want to bother with taking it off. I do have pretty dramatic lashes naturally, so I'm grateful for that.

Highly recommend checking out the elf lash n roll mascara in brown! It's my absolute fav. The black is also excellent!

Fragranced mascara gives me a headache just thinking about it. I have issues with 'regular' mascara.
