    Beautiful piece for sure. I'm not sure what was unexpected about it, or was that just a click bait title?

      Now that I know the titles are just clickbait, I'll know to ignore the channel next time TH-cam suggest it to me.

    Wow very nice work .
    Reminded me of when I was a school in the woodwork class our wood work teacher used to polish almost every thing with bees wax back then it was the only food safe polish there was . The smell of the bees wax has stayed with me all of my life from that point on I carry a coin of wax every where I go or have been .

    Very pretty. Two suggestions: Cut the corners off your square glue-ups before turning and when you're cutting grooves for the dipper, use a Forstner bit, you'll get a much smoother cut. You might consider using hard maple and cherry instead of walnut and cedar.

    • @rockcat5000
      @rockcat5000 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I often wonder why more people do not trim off the corners ahead of time. The scraps can then be used in resin mash-ups, or glued together for patterned blanks. But I have a hard time throwing any wood away.

His videos are very instructive and spindle gouges are usually only used to rough out the shape, bowl gouges or round carbide cutters are better for achieving a clean finish.
