- My full walkthrough of how to get strong weapons and armors early in the game no need for downloading the weapons and armor dlc when you can do this!
Carrot Gold Exploit still works after the patch all you have to do is DELETE the PATCH and play your game OFFLINE and exploit it then when you're ready to play ONLINE again download the patch!!!

The Strong Weapons and Armors walkthrough was found by me, maybe people knew about this guide already but I haven't seen anyone done this yet so I guess I'm taking the credit for it LOL! I'm just sayin!

Most of them come from killing the Ur-Dragon, but I wouldn't attempt that until you're at least around level 80 and make sure you're playing offline. Also make sure you're able to do a lot of ranged damage as there are a couple of weak spots on him that you can't get to by climbing. There's a lot more I could say, but it would probably make more sense if you looked up a guide for it somewhere.
andrew lefty holy weapons are enemy drops by the Ur Dragon, a bonus boss which can be tackled both online and offline. the Ur Dragon is like Grigori, but fights by casting spells in addition to Grigori's usual moves. it's got a shit ton of hp, and you won't deal damage to it unless you hit its hearts - yes, hearts. it has MANY hearts appearing over its body. the hearts aren't all visible at the same time, though. one heart appears after you destroy a previous one. good l6ck killing the bastard if you're level's lower than a hundred and fifty, cos by then, you should have enough strength to destroy the bastard before time is up. if you can't destroy him within a set amount of time, he leaves you with nothing. if you do kill him, the lobby (t0where the large stone slab of records is) of the area you fight in will have 20 wakestones, and one weapon drop from him. the weapon dropped is random, but it is a guaranteed holy weapon.
They're masterworks all, you can't go wrong.
All I got from this video was running around almost naked, eating ALOT of shrooms, and listening to that cyclops sound like satan at 8:23
just got dark arisen. I SAW A TROLL COMMITT SUICIDE AS I WAS FIGHTING IT. IT WAS HILARIOUS!! it jumped off the ledge, taking 2 of my party members with it
Happened the same with me when i tested a full melee party and me and everyone climbed the Troll and he just started shaking his body near a peak, well, he did fall with me and everyone, i had to load the game...
John Zoidberg everytime i go to the everfall and fight the troll he just jumps of the ledge trying to attack me the best of it is that he is always to 3 cm of pushing me off the cliff
There was this one time i went to the woman bandit camp, and the cyclops in the cliff road just jumped straight down from there for no reason, i didn't even aggro him yet but got a good laugh from it

Had a cyclops do that last night in the Watergod's altar taking my last two pawns off a ledge into water
i don't understand why everyone is hating on this. its just an alternative start whats the big deal? if you don't want to do it don't but that doesn't mean the video is inherently bad.... its actually quite informative.

it is indeed informative but it takes so much time when now all you have to do is sleep in a inn till night then go the dude in the dark arisen dlc
3 Problems:
1. Too hard for new players, so much new minibosses and monsters, u dont know what they can do.
2. It´s no fun, if u run 20 minutes straight with some deaths and ignore all the landscapes which u can explore with there mysteries.
3. These Items are like the first Items u can buy in the main town, not much stronger or very special.
If u play the story normally, you...
...learn all about these monsters, have fun fighting beasts.
...have more fun in 20 min. story playing, then in running 20 min. straight and explore the world with there mysteries.
...have after an hour the same good stuff + fun on this game.
If he had showed you end game weapons, i would say: Okay, its an alternative playstyle, but this isnt alternative good stuff, its time waste without any Gains.
lmao for the same amount of time you could get much more gold and xp doing side quest. I was expecting some kick ass gear at the end but I literally LOL when saw the crap he bought

Items have a hidden level and if your character's level is below that hidden level, it will make you waste more energy when you do stamina actions.
I wouldn't recommend this for new players but I think this is good in case you have already finished the game and just want to start a brand new game and speed things up a lil bit without going through all the shit the game thows you at the beginning.
New players will get rekt trying this trick, looks like you gotta have certain mobility and timming and these are mastered by knowing the game very well, so yeah enjoy the game, from start to finish, master it and if you're like me and want to start a fresh game with a new avatar, yup speed runing and doing things like these are too much fun.
hi i am a new player and i was wondering would those items change like in strength i mean 69 strength for a sword that costs 60,000 is bad i have done a tiny bit and looking to go to witchwood i have got the money but would it only be that good my sword has 225 strength and it was 14,000

Hi. You might be referring to the Thight Cinquedea sword shown in the video. That sword deals 178 damage. The video shows 69 because the character on this video is a Mage, so if you look closely the sword is blocked so the menu won't show it's stats. If you keep looking the video you'll notice that once he highlights the Mage staves he will get the stats according to his character level.
So yeah play the game and once you get to that fortress (The Great Wall) check the sword to see how much damage you can deal with it. It's base damage is 178 but your character level and stats will add up to increase the damage output.

@@Daniel_Oliv I played about 4 playthroughs with one character and racked up about 10Mil In that time. Its really easy the only problem is there's nothing to do with it. And theres barley any side missions as well so really its just the main story and dlc area which is just a big dungeon with OP enemies. After a few play throughs this game becomes a bit tedious
they tell you at the tart of the video to do a carrot gold glitch which is buying carrots from a old women sleeping in a inn until the carrots go sour(i think they go sour i dont really use carrots ever) then sell them back to her for more money

Hmmm.... the cave route seems like a rather risky detour for anyone that isn't experienced with the game. Just doing the hydra fight and escorting the head to gran soren in the normal story can get you the better half of the way on this route without much risk. Also, once you get to gran soren, you get the infinite use teleport stone (either as an emergency escape button, or just to avoid the walk back). Remember that base at 4:50 though, since that bandit camp has great daggers/bow. But I'd just go northwest of gransoren instead for that.

for all you PC newbies, this is an enormous waste of time. you get better armor off the bat (just go to the inn in the first town and equip it). this is neat, but so outrageously pointless. Just play the game.

This is actually pretty doable if you're on Hard Mode, though I only managed it near level 20(and even then died a few times in the mine because of perfect accuracy fireballs). Playing on PC.

I got a good sword a the Rest Camp, just before the Quarry Entrance, but cheers for the video.
Thunderclap can be picked for free in Ancient Quarry you run through. Or Scalding Razors for strider or Elder something for fighter.
Eden's Warden for fighter/mk. Ferric Talon for warrior. If you buy 40+ throwblasts you can clear ancient quarry early and play your game with better equip than you buy at Greatwall and leveled up (ogres).
I have props for you. But Jesus just playing the game and heading to the dlc (killed daimon at 57) was more than enough to make me overpowered. I was hitting like 2,000 damage at 65 now I'm capping at 3.7 with my magic archer. People just gotta plan the build or stick to a specific category of vocations to get the most benefit of them.

magic classes are the toughest to start as...Sorcerer is my favorite class to play as, if u have too much trouble Id suggest doing some assassin at some point just til u get to the ring that u need....cant remember the name of it but its a big deal, u can either turn it in or u can make a duplicate at the black cat and turn in the duplicate so u can keep the real one...it allows u to do spells quicker, also theres a skill under sorcerer that does the same, when u have them both, u are a BEAST

For all PC games, DO NOT DO THAT. YOU will get better gear naturally after level 30-40. Do not waste your gold with Black cat stuffs or this kind of merchant, because you will get better gear really quickly if you beat the "final" boss, and start farming in the post-game. By the method of the video, you will walk for long and frustrating hours, being killed by drakes, hobgoblins and chimeras....
who wants to wait until post-game to get good gear??
Thiago Navarro Dragoni No matter if you are on post-game or not, the gear selling by this merchant will be useless quickly as hell. Same with the Black cat gear. Also, these things are super expensive, you will just waste your lovely gold.
+lclendrick the gear Mathias is selling is the same gear you can purchase after u finish the wyrm hunt. Are u saying u shouldn't spend any money on any new armor until post game? Because the only difference between Caxton and Mathias and the gear they are selling, is that Mathias gets some of it earlier on. Sure this method might not be worth it but u can't say it's because he has shoddy gear when in fact it's the same gear u will be able to purchase after the wyrm hunt just like everybody else. Essentially doing this method is no worse than just playing through the hunt because it yields the same rewards.
SMELLJAMIARRHEA If you can buy it from Caxton without the risk of been killed by bandits, chimeras, goblins, hobgoblins, harpies, the Drake or that feminist bandits, I think it's totally worthy if you complete the wyrm hunt missions first to buy it in Gran Soren without the pain in the ass of try the luck on that bandit and goblin territory. No new player will even be able to purchase that gear without gold farming, and the time that them will spend farming gold (Which it's totally random and no more exploitable with the carrots stuff for example), will just be even more frustrating. But everyone has a a way to play, for newbies I think rushing that area is no big deal. If you think it worth, do so.
+lclendrick hell no I would never do this, if anything I would have gone to gransoren first and then gotten the portcrystal, then travel to the wall and put down the port crystal. I've been playing this game since it came out and running away from creatures had always been pretty easy, so if new players have the doc gear and they can sell it(like I always do in new playthroughs) then by all means sell it and run to the wall. Besides, it makes your character look cooler in the earlier cut scenes.... It's all about the aesthetics

The gear is one of the cheapest items you can bye. May seem like a lot once you start but it's one of the cheapest items you can by.
Don't do this because this is waste of time. Just play your game and select the good followers this is important.After everything is get easy in the game.
Go to your hard drive, press "X" on it, and delete system cache, or go into your save file for dragon's dogma and delete the "Patch Update" thing or whatever.
Deleting the system cache is deleting the patches and stuff for games, your save files and other important stuff will be safe. You can google it if you don't trust me though :)

Since I dont have online capabilities ferry stones cost 10,000 to 20,000 gold which is a considerable amount, and with the scarcity of portcrystals I find fast travel to be sufficiently difficult.. I'm glad it's working for you though! :)

u can also speed her up by throwing her to where she needs to go as long as you dont hit her.
Not bad, but the money and time it takes to get here isn't worth it on your first playthrough, since Liftstones don't work until you reach Grand Soren it's gonna take a while to get back. But hey if that's how you want to play the game, great, your life your choices XD. Though you could go through the mountain path and around the cyclops and run back, but still that is such a long way, it would be best to get a liftstone after reaching grand soren, get a portcrystal because you need to go back later, and get money by searching stuff (I got around 10,000ish just by searching stuff in grand soren, you can get around 30,000 in the everfall pre-post game in the area with the skeleton sorcerers, zombies, and harpies)
Also to include, i love fashion on my characters XD So i always have the good looking equipment, even if it isnt good on my character XD. But hey im a Magick Archer i can get away with it

The armor they talk about being in item storage at the start of the game is available in the ps4 version just as the PC.
And while this is a neat trick yes it’s also relatively pointless for armor.
I never play alone besides it's more exciting to play with pawn's. may other players who go solo do well.
what I usually do is like go into this cave I can't remember the name of it but u go for a quest and it gives really good weapons like early on I had malignance for free and kunais for my pawn named bishop. then I got some armor for him and about 150,000 worth of gold but be warned sometimes there is a cockatrice instead of a griffin so yeah that's were I go. even early on. to
God, it's such a shame that so many people don't understand that.
its a single player game,its doesn't hurt anyone. Let ppl play how they want, if you dont want to exploit then just dont do it. You cant ruin a game when its single player.

Well to get rid of the ones you bought or got just go to a rift stone and tell them to leave for your main pawn just kill them by throwing them off a cliff then don't use a rift stone to bring them back, they won't gain experience though. I would only go solo at high levels because at that point you are so Op nothing really stand a chance.
In the start of that journey it was early. But after five hours of travel just to get better weapons to start with don't you think that you could just go with the flow of the game. And maybe wait until your a good level to risk going through an area with a Chimera. Hugging the wall won't always work. Those beast wonder around. But it is still a good idea for those players looking to start with an advantage and not a challenge.

Actually it should say "How to buy mid game gear till you man up and go to soulflayer canyon" There are better ways to get good gear that will last you much longer than that stuff will, with much less time and money spent.
Giving a golden idol to Caxton is easier (as long as if you don't sentence him to death).
It's not Caxton that you sentence to death. It's Fournival.

that's right every updated patch that came out before dark arisen was patched onto the dark arisen game disc so you cannot do the carrot exploit on dark arisen only on dragon's dogma

there is fast travel to anywhere in the game. i have 10 fast travel locations. its just very expensive to set up

delete your game update and turn ps3 offline mode, don't erase game data itself! then you're at the original version with infinite carrots. once you're done, turn ps3 back online and the update will install again when you start the game
not really by then u just have to run a few more errands and the items should be in the normally shop, giving him the gold ideal will get them there faster

BTW, the carrot trick doesn't work if you bought Dark Arisen.
It's still incredibly difficult to collect the ferry stones and port crystals required to fast travel especially without money
