    This is not how you handle that amount of power please everyone be careful I have done my hybrid battery and many other cars but with safety hazards
    Please wear proper gloves 🧤 it’s dangerous can kill you in second

    I think that some kind of warning about how dangerous could be 216 v (dc) is a must...

    One thing should have been done differently. I would have coated a little dielectric grease onto all the copper plates and other surfaces that experienced corrosion so as to prevent future corrosion.

      @@jakegoakes That is difficult to believe on the face of it. Would you care to describe in detail what happened to your battery and what it was (brand name maybe) that you applied or where you got it?

      @@jakegoakes Generally that would be a good place to prevent oxidation. Do you know what it was you used?

      @@kreynolds1123 it's been to long I don't remember but the oxidation was worse than a normal Prius battery that also could have been because I didn't clean the cooling fan for the battery so it overheated a couple of times and the electrolyte starts venting once it starts over heating the electrolyte starts coming out of the cell terminals that's the reason it corrodes so badly the corotion gets into the voltage sensor wires and runes them too

    You need to carry out the load test. Good Voltage does not mean the cell is good.

      Yeah this is a quick bandaid. I might do this as I just don't have time to carry out full testing right now, then i'll do the full testing when I get more time.

    Doesnt need to take out all the cells to measure it each ? I do the same work i replace just the cell are lower than 7.0 other was 7.70 and after 1 day i got again the hybrid light issue

    It's not dangerous as long as you unplug the orange cluch and disconnect the 2 orange cables from the 5th pack ( number 23 )... Then you can work without gloves for the rest ... It's not dangerous at all. This is how Toyota make you beleive that you need to pay extra 2k for the job to be done by their engineer to replace your dead battery by a new one.

      Very good question. Actually, this battery is made up of many cells, charge and discharge controllers. He first checked all the cells for similar voltages. He marks and removes the cells with low voltage. He replaces the bad cells. He cleans the contacts on the side with the bad cell. Then he rebuilds the battery.

      ​@@itsahm3640Other than Prius battery, I'm not sure what that battery is called. This appears to be an older Prius' battery, which consists of 28 Panasonic nickel-metal hydride modules. According to Green Car Reports, each of these contains six 1.2-volt cells. A total of 201.6 volts will be generated by connecting them in series. Lexus' RX 400h comes with a nickel-metal hydride battery in a newly designed metal casing. With the boost converter, it can deliver up to 500 volts.
      You'll find a battery pack made by Sanyo in the Ford Escape that contains 250 nickel hydride cells, explains hybridCARS. Each cell has its own stainless steel case. All of these wires are welded and wrapped together in groups of five, generating 1.3 volts. The Honda Insight is equipped with 120 nickel hydride batteries that produce 1.2 volts. The battery can discharge and charge at rates of 100 amps and 50 amps, respectively.
      Saturn Vue Green Line batteries are manufactured in the United States by Cobasys. The nickel-metal hydride battery provides 36 volts and can deliver and receive 14.5 kW of power.
