Been silent for years and now looking at something to take caravaning with me for next year .Thinking this could be perfect for holidays and using in the garden. Was looking at the icom 705 but will hang for this little beast to hit the UK market . 73s from a old G6
You can see the different modules on the back. One is the battery, one is the tuner, one is the cooling fan + tuner. It doesn't look like you can use the battery in conjunction with the tuner?
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones A) You never know when it might start spitting/drizzling on you. We aren’t necessarily talking about downpours. B) I have used my radio in the snow. C) There’s also the question of how much you have to baby it in your pack along the way. Pelican cases work, but are extra bulk and weight. D) Besides water, dirt intrusion matters for sure.
Bluetooth says nothing at all. I do have a radio with bluetooth. Pairing and connecting headphones is no problem but there is never any audio getting in or out of the radio via bluetooth. BT is only for keyboard, mouse and the like!!!
10 watt? Might as well have just made a new HT. If it's going to be mobile, it has to be 50 watt, since that's the only way you can really be heard. KN6ZFM.
There you go again! First with a 360 view! I was waiting for a 360 view. Thank you!
I even made a video predicting this Radio :
No Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth would be a bummer.
My guess is that there will be a bluetooth module .

Hi Michael its a good choice well worth waiting .
The SO-239 is the output of the ATU module
Yup, this. But…why? Why SO-239 with a tuner but BNC without? That seems odd.
Lol yes
I just reserved mine at HRO. I’ve been holding out for this one!
Well worth it :)

Agree but we can use an external brick
ATU seems to be a problem for manufacturers, either there is none (IC-705) or it is not usable with all other extensions.
Got my pre-order in yesterday!
Nice
I wonder if it will do crossband? Also I think that SO239 might be an ATU
Agree
Looks fantastic, but wish it had wifi. Can’t use it remotely via software.
It does have usb maybe they will do it that way .
Not a field radio if not waterproof
Seriously. Lab599 is still the only game in town that’s figured that out.
Yes but who uses a radio like this in the rain ?

Looks Kewl 👍😊

Looks like the tuner and battery stack together and the tuner outputs an so239?
Yes after looking again yes thanks
That is the factory tuner.
Yes
Not that excited about it, pretty cool qrp rig. I want the new icom lol

If there is 1 hdmi port for each band ( 4 hdmi ports) for simultaneous viewing using 4 widescreen TVs...Ill go out and buy 1 for me...but.
Won't happen

Not on my Yaesu
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones lucky you!
i wonder if it would work with the Atas 120A antenna
Do u have one ?
great...should be a flood of cheap 818s now.....
People hang on to them it's a completely different form.factor .
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones doubt it
100W ? 10W
10watt
Would have been cool to translate that to see what it said.
It's identical to the Yaesu English published document look on Martin lynch
Me interesa saber si el radio hace croosband repeater alguien me puede informar.

Maybe
And not compatible with Atas-120
I will find out but do you use it ?
I have the Atas-120 I like it
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones
At least the preliminary information of the radio does not say that it is compatible with the ATAS-120 system.

This was designed for the QRP Market - I am sure they plan more powerfull units like the 991
Moronic comment. Presumably attnetion seeking?
