I think people don’t really understand what the “looks matter” actually means. The fact is that if two people were put in front of a let’s say blue eyed black haired person and were to say whether or not they are attracted to and how much if yes to that person, chances are one would be more attracted than the other. Nothing to do with whether you’re hot or not. I for example don’t like muscled up gym bros. I like my men of a medium body type idk how to explain it lol not skinny not chubby not muscled up, just somewhere in between, a bit of a belly is even nice addition. It's mostly People who grow up in toxic households, it's cuz they are taught that society matters more and what society thinks matters more than their own mental, physical and emotional health. And they are shamed for how they look. So they start hating themselves on the basis of physical appearance which grows so much that they also start hating their personalities too. Having no support, love, care and attention from anyone, specially from the people in your home, is just plain painful. Being love deprived and all that stuff causes so many physical and mental issues. You start seeking validation and attention seeking behaviour from outside your home when it's not given in your home. And to fill the void and your love deprived self. Even if they know it's wrong, they can't stop. Cuz that habit is grown and they think it's the only way they can be satisfied/fulfill their needs, (cuz nobody in the home is gonna do that for them). And they also start trying to be so independent that they don't even ask for help even when it's very much needed (cuz they think it's too much and/or is a burden, and plus they were raised in such a way that they were taught to not ask for help, so they grew up alone and Independent and always only helped themselves [as always] ). (+Recovery from all of this, takes alot of effort and time. It's not just like, one day you wake up and it all vanishes.) They also constantly compare themselves with others alot which proves fatal. It's so dangerous. This mindset is utterly dangerous and is self-destruction. I would know, cuz I grew up just like that. But I'm slowly recovering. I hope these beautiful people know they are just so much more than their physical appearances. And if they are not loved at home, they are loved in this community, and I care, support, and love them. And I hope they get the help they need, cuz it's very much needed for recovery.❤ But I'm recovering by myself, you could also recover like that. It's up to you :). I used to be so self conscious. I would constantly compare myself to people, and I hated my appearance. I stopped eating and sat on my phone looking up ways to be pretty. After talking to my family and friends I started properly taking care of myself and now I’m confident in how I look and I’m proud of who I’ve become. Don’t be afraid to talk to someone and don’t compare yourself to others, do small things to help yourself and you will see how greatly it impacts your life. You’re beautiful and perfect just the way you are! ❤️

on the canthal tilt thing: in most of the "wrong" pictures its literally just the face being tilted up. if you tilt your face down your eyes will look the same as the "correct" pictures

I was really unhappy with how I looked for a long-long time. My family fatshamed, even though, i'm barely over "normal" BMI, I feel like I am fat as hell. Then I started dressing more elegant than I did, and then met my partner. He loves me, the way I look, and he helped me gain my confidence to the pont where I feel good inside and out.
My family did the same to me, i ended up starving myself until i hit 48 kg. I was literally miserable, thanks god i snapped out of it. However, i'm glad you found happiness, and someone who loved you for who you were. this topic is actually really concerning I am really glad Rebal brought it up. I have never heard of such procedures before, and the fact that people go through such lengths to fit the "beauty standards" is so saddening. Im 16 and have a sprained jaw + TMD rn (got it from sparring), which has caused my face to be asymmetrical. I recently got a haircut that is all swooped to one side, which has fixed my face looking asymmetrical. Hair actually tends to draw away from unwanted features and towards positive ones. What I'm trying to say is you probably dont need bonesmashing, you can do a haircut or get a piercing instead.
As a guy, my dumbass thought I was ugly most of my life so I focused on becoming a better person and being funny. Turns out I was just too oblivious to my looks and am indoors so much (computer guy that even gyms from home) I didn't interact with people enough to hear compliments or it just flew over my head 😭🤣 I'm still very insecure of my looks, so still rely on my personality and humor to attract but am slowly gaining the confidence to walk up to girls and try to talk and connect. I did the online thing, which got me my ex...that was a slightly traumatizing relationship. Trying to move away from the online dating. It's still soul crushing to get ghosted or not even a text back from girls, so I always default to asking if I'm just not good looking enough, but I gotta remind myself they may have their own insecurities that prevents them from messaging back...or I need to change my approach because maybe I was too aggressive or creepy 🤷♀ IDK... ...It's hard out there for most guys, so it's no surprise some resort to extreme measures or ideologies. This is exactly how I feel, I see myself as a horrid monster because I have body dismorphia, my mom is always angry when I don't feel good about my body...I feel so gross and fat, I'm 184, 5'5, skinny thick, my thighs are huge and my chest is decent, my stomach is pretty small, but I have a bit of a tummy that I'm insecure about. this topic is actually really concerning I am really glad Rebal brought it up. I have never heard of such procedures before, and the fact that people go through such lengths to fit the "beauty standards" is so saddening. I have a friend who constantly worries about his looks, he is beautiful let me tell you but his self esteem prevents him from noticing that. Im 16 and have a sprained jaw + TMD rn (got it from sparring), which has caused my face to be asymmetrical. I recently got a haircut that is all swooped to one side, which has fixed my face looking asymmetrical. Hair actually tends to draw away from unwanted features and towards positive ones. What I'm trying to say is you probably dont need bonesmashing, you can do a haircut or get a piercing instead.

As a guy, my dumbass thought I was ugly most of my life so I focused on becoming a better person and being funny. Turns out I was just too oblivious to my looks and am indoors so much (computer guy that even gyms from home) I didn't interact with people enough to hear compliments or it just flew over my head 😭🤣
I'm still very insecure of my looks, so still rely on my personality and humor to attract but am slowly gaining the confidence to walk up to girls and try to talk and connect. I did the online thing, which got me my ex...that was a slightly traumatizing relationship. Trying to move away from the online dating.
It's still soul crushing to get ghosted or not even a text back from girls, so I always default to asking if I'm just not good looking enough, but I gotta remind myself they may have their own insecurities that prevents them from messaging back...or I need to change my approach because maybe I was too aggressive or creepy 🤷♀ IDK...
