The problem is the “edited” pictures look like normal people. So it’s so toxic for people who look similar to those photos. If they were super exaggerated maybe it would be okay, but you’re just putting beauty standards on people even harder. Like I saw these TikTok’s and thought “gosh, if these are supposed to look bad then I’m hideous”.
One of them almost looked exactly like me 🤧🥲🥲 my same face shape and structure, same nose, same eyes just slightly further apart. It makes you feel terrible.

The problem here isn't even editing your already conventionally attractive friends. The problem is that real people do actually have the edited conventionally "unattractive" faces and they're going to see this and feel like sh** even though there's nothing wrong with their face whatsoever. What I hate about this is that the editing isn't that severe. Most of the ppl just look like normal people to me, so I hate to think of who's seeing someone just looks like them... and is supposed to be getting the "ugly edit." Like, it's okay to not all have the cookie cutter influencer face.
Also, think about the fact that people out there have the "ugly" features that the mean girl edited onto her friends. That's beyond rude. Not everyone fits the beauty standards, and that's why people are so dang lovely.
However, when you're already self-conscious about certain features, getting them called out as gross squashes your self esteem.

I couldn't relate more than this when rebal started saying he's sensitive,emotional and feels way happier and catchs feeling so hard and it aint no easy thing to deal with later.
I always associated being sensitive and emotional as signs of being weak and always tried to deny those feelings amd tried to supress it and only showed people the best side of me .
The happy side and the strong ,Idgaf side while honestly deep down there I gave a fuck more than anything else.
I overthinked it .
But honestly only recently I have realised that it's not like I'm weak it's just that i am emotional cos i care so much and there's nothing wrong in that.
IT's okay to be emotional and sensitive .Now atlast I'm at peace with what I feel ,now that I have started accepting it instead of denying it .

@@sjlee100 Being sensitive isn't always a sign of weakness, it's a strength to be able to express emotions because when you keep them and bury them inside then they will effect your mental health. Therefore I wouldn't encourage op to stop being sensitive, they might get the wrong message from you and suppress their emotions which is not healthy at all. I would rather encourage them to express their emotions and address the reasons behind them instead.

My “friends” just looove to put me down in front of guys (especially the ones they like) and make me look dumb or almost yell stupid stuff I’ve done just to make sure they hear it. It’s honestly so gross I always see them kinda looking over to see if anyone heard or is smiling. Not all my friends are like this and that’s why is hard to cut the toxic ones off since our friend group is so close.
being sensitive is difficult to the heart but it is good in that it helps you acknowledge what you like and don't like quicker. being emotional is basically life with the saturation edit on 100% 😂 anyways we all experience life differently and it's more than okay. I’m so happy when Rebal started to talk about feelings and emotion. I’m a kind of person who catches feeling way too fast and I can’t even control myself. So I have suffered too many heartbreaks and gone through emotional stages, to the point of self harm. I’m trying to be cold as stone but the transition is very very difficult. I agree with you, feeling sensitive is annoying and can make you feel helpless. But you can also see the good side of it and that you feel to the fullest. I tried to "toughen up" like your trying, but that just made me more lost and almost numb, and I regret it. Now I except it, I just look around and know that this will pass and that whatever emotion I'm feeling so much right now I won't feel it in a month or maybe a week. It's like when you think back to a time when your little self thought that this thing your overreacting to is the biggest thing ever, and right now you even laugh at it and think how ridiculous you were acting.
So just don't think about it so much and just know (if it brings you comfort) that someone out there is probably feeling the same thing you are... I know I was.
And I just hope you'll be doing the best you've ever done regarding to all the things you're feeling right now

I only say this cus as someone who is hurt easily I'm always told to "grow thicker skin" or called a "crybaby". I truly believe nobody should have to feel ashamed of their emotions, regardless how ridiculous, apathetic, or "child-like" they might appear to someone else. Our emotions are a natural part of us and should be celebrated, because the highs and lows are part of being alive!
But aside from that, I COMPLETELY AGREE! The same thing that helps you, helps me. Really just living in the moment. Feeling so excited for a game I probably won't play in a week, and just, feeling excited. I know that yeah, the game is not interesting enough to hold my attention for much longer, but for right now it brings me happiness. Same way with lows as well, although it's much harder to be positive about already negative things. But sometimes, forgiving myself for being hurt, or feeling something so hard, giving myself permission to just, be in it for a bit, and knowing that what I'm experiencing is normal and valid, helps a lot when I remember to do it. Anxiety oftentimes muddles that cus it's all "IT'LL NEVER GET BETTER YER GUNNA DIEE! BLAARG!" But you kinda learn that, Anxiety is a lying asshat BAHAHA. But yeah, 100% YES to everything you said!!

No but in all seriousness everything you said in that second paragraph is literally what I do. And what helps me with the lows is knowing that I'll eventually, (actually) feel really good and that you're not always going to be sad as much as you'll never always be happy. It's like a cycle, it's gonna go up and down and around, your feelings and emotions will always shift, evolve, and change. But I think we need that. We need that balance to really know we're here, that we're living, that shit happens, and sometimes it's okay and sometimes you need to tell yourself it's not.

It's like seeing the world with rose coloured glasses, you'll never really know what's actually there, AND if it's EVEN there. Or if you think you saw something, so you start to over think it. Then think how it could also just be in your head. And you start to over think about that too.
Though, sometimes, (the over thinking) could really help you with things you never thought you knew. And that's anxiety for you. REALLY complex and other times... (well somtimes) simple.
And what helps me (in situations) is remembering that things are never good and bad, black and white, they're grey, that little gradient between everything. And honestly just think of it as a scale. And to see what side the grey leans on more. And you just got to go find it to better evaluate the situation.

I believe that expresssing emotions and vulnerability is part of our journey as human beings, the more you express them the more authentic and braver you are, and that people who are stone cold are actually people who choose to supress their own emotions which is not healthy for their mental health.

I used to have these 'friends' back in highschool that used to post my selfies on a Facebook account they made just to post my selfies and made fun of me and sometimes edit it like putting my face on Yoda's and everyone would just go along with it and tells me it was just a joke they made it to the point of making fake facebook accounts messaging they liked me, it made me really conscious about myself and never seen me as pretty so seeing this sick trend reminds me of my experience.
In these situations the only thing I say is “Comedy 101: if you have to tell your audience it’s a joke then it isn’t funny.”
I firmly believe that if you want to look good, you need to make your friends as hot as humanly possible so that you're all an ethereal band of goddesses. That's true power.

I remember when I was confused about something my sister was texting me and she posted the chat on tiktok without telling me and called me dumb... she said in the caption "imagine being so dumb at 18💀". then she sent me the tiktok after around 2000 people had seen it and said "look you're famous, it's soo funny". then she proceeded to make me feel stupid for being mad at her for posting that without my permission and made me cry. It happened a little more than a year ago, but I'm still so pissed

Tbh i do edit my friends' pictures, like in a funny way. Adding a moustache or something. We do that to each other, we make stickers about our ugly photos and share it among ourselves. Not to the point where you edit a photo of your friends, highlighting their insecurities. It's purely toxic, i hope this trend makes them realise that they should unfriend these kind of people.

It is totally unacceptable. I understand if your friends were like sure you can post it and laughed about it but as someone who has been put down and abandoned by "friends" it hurts. Everyone is beautiful in their own ways whether they are a different ethnicity, or has disabilities. But i do not think it is right to do it to put someone else down and make them look ugly when they are gorgeous!

You know these are some fake ass friendships when you have to edit their photos instead of already having an entire folder in your gallery of the most outrageous, embarrassing, funniest photos of your friends. If my friends wanted to do this to me (hypothetically, because they wouldn't), they wouldn't have to edit nothing, they would just have a hard time picking which photo to use because they're all too disgusting and hilarious.
I searched through my phone to find the absolute most horrific pics of me and my best friends. I sent it to them, but only them, those aren't pics you put on the internet
