Give mom a break. Yes she was embarrassed at the condition that the dog was in but she took a huge step to come to Dede, she seemed to be learning and will hopefully incorporate what she learned into her routine. Mom obviously didn't know what she was getting into with this dog, but she also didn't dump the dog when things got tough. Give her some love for what she learned, not making judgments. Dede, you're the best!
Agree, sometimes you just have to have faith in a situation. Mom said, at bath time, that Luna would let her bath her, but at the beginning of the video she said that the kids had to pick Luna up for her. The dog has been in the home long enough to trust a little bit, but if your not willing to take the time to learn, there will be trouble. Mom drove over an hour to get to Dede, and she knew what she was getting into. She wanted to learn so that she could enjoy her puppy (sorry, I don’t know any dogs, but I know a lot of puppies!), and she didn’t back down once! I think that because of Dede’s “training “, home is going to be a much happier place.
Yes she should have let jt get that far but she is taking responsibility now and taking care of the dog and from now on she can come in every couple of months and the dog will be much better
This is my first time watching and I have to say that I think you are AWESOME !! I wish you lived near me.. Oh I can only dream.. I live in a small town and we have only one groomer. (We did have two up until recently) I'm going to be watching you alot now! Wow, you did a great job getting the matted hair all cleaned up and the she looked like a brand new dog ! You are definitely a lifesaver to these people💛
49:07 "It's okay, it's a learning process. Now you know." "We'll just get on track. And we won't look back." Premium life advice right there😭😭😭😭 I really needed to hear that no lie
You can tell mom was upset about it.. sometimes you have to realise the mistake then you know that it's important... that was very good advice its embarrassing to walk in somewhere and say here's my matted dog , very good advice
Aw the ending made me cry. It's good mom got to experience the whole thing for sure. Letting them understand their animal better and their health is a great thing. You did an amazing job Dede!!
I just watched this and admire you for helping the dog, and for treating her owner with kindness and no shaming. If you had been mean or sarcastic, she would be too ashamed to return. Your straight forward teaching and encouragement are the right approaches. Thank you!
After you shaved the first half of the face the dogs entire demeanor changed! Tail wagging, panting stopped and the body position was more upright but relaxed. I wonder if mom noticed a difference once she got home with the dog. I would be willing to bet that the dog is not actually aggressive she was just acting out because of the pain and discomfort. I bet the dogs entire behavior will have changed as a result of what you have done for her. Nicely done.
Mom seemed more confident as well. Dogs can read their parent's emotion. So I think Mom showing more confidence will help her puppy trust that everything is going to be okay. Will make the grooming easier. Hopefully she follows through with the homework. Really great effort all around. Adorable little dog.
Sabrina deep - That’s exactly what I noticed. She was like a canine deaf mute, “Wait, I can hear, I can see! Oh, thank you, DeDe!” The perfect ending for me would have been to put her down in the floor and watch her do a happy dance, lol.
I teared up at the Mom's tears and your comforting her. What a compassionate person you are for that poor dog and the Mom who didn't realize what mats were going to do to the skin. Now that dog is comfortable and Mom has a plan to keep the dog well brushed and getting used to care around her face. Once again you are amazing and hats off to that Mom for driving all that way to get the best care for her beloved dog. Thanks for sharing.
It’s really hard to read some comments about how it’s abusive. This lady is in the room with her dog, is explaining how shes TRIED to help keep the dog maintained and groomed, and isn’t at all treating the dog badly. Sometimes dogs just DONT LIKE BEING GROOMED. It’s hard to maintain a dog being groomed when they won’t even let you pick them up. You can’t be quick to judge people who are looking for help with their dog all matted. There have been dogs in this video just as bad as this dog, who were just dropped off in the grooming station and left there because they probably don’t care enough to help the dog. This lady is learning.
I wish the stand had a nice padded seat for their tummies to rest on. As it is, that contraption helps the groomer but the dog would be more comfortable and to me, that would help the dog to feel more like they were getting pampered.. you know like a warm, soft table that’s padded when you go to have a massage or something. Especially if it’s so painful to get the mats off.
I thought it was so important to involve the owner involved. They have no idea what your body going through in a regular day . Let alone when you have a challenge like this. Keeping dog parent in control helping them to help you!& see how challenging this situation is . To do they now know you got this & the dog owner or you won’t have to go through this again ! The pup was so happy after! That would make me mean . Lol
Mom parent did her dog good by bringing her into you. The patience of mom, yourself and your staff member was amazing to see the challenges of what a group effort to help the dog get comfortable
God bless the owner. When you adopt a dog, you have no idea what the poor things have been through and this type of behavior can be exhausting. Thank goodness the owner cared enough to keep trying.
This pup look so relieved when that matted lump of fur was removed from her face. I have a new found respect for animal groomers. DeDe you are truly good at what you do ❤️
you are so good at grooming and everything else you do for the doggies I know this is a video but it hurts me to read the Mommy's face there's no love for this pup, just ask her if she has kids this dog I'm thinking was used as the toy for her kids like I said read her face at the dog doesn't nearly show that there is love for him please take it as a good criticism it's just that I am a dog lover and it hurts and I know the groomer knows what's going on but she cannot do anything about that but just try to convince them to bring her and more often and I don't know how to put it but in a subtle way tell her that has to be a lot of love given to this pup please and may God bless you you're the best
Yeah, I don't doubt she'll get there eventually! Give her the hook-up then why don't 'cha? Speed up the process like the beloved Doctor Pol (💖) . lol But I could totally see that happening... Still watch though?
I cried when i looked at the dog. Poor little dog he could not see a thing. If you can't get your dog Groomed FIND ANOTHER ONE FAST.There was a little dog trying to live under all of that. He couldn't see anything. I would be bitting people too
Your the BEST dog groomer I've seen. You talk to the dog, kind and friendly. Mom...so glad you brought your pup in. We all had to learn just as you are. It's all good. 👍👍
Mom did a great job. It was very touching when she became emotional at the end...It really touched my heart. It's so hard to realize that your baby has been suffering. Dede, your calm demeanor made such a difference and really helped to keep Mom as calm as possible. Absolutely amazing
Wow Dede! That was an amazing groom! First; in defense of pet momma. I do really think there was a lot she just didn't know. We don't know exactly what went on in that house. Mom said the dog would not even let her near her. Bonding and imprinting is hard when your dog isn't interested in you at all. We all do the best with the knowledge we have at the time. I don't think Dede was blaming or shaming mom at all. I think Dede was just telling the truth. And when mom learned how bad the problem was, she learned what she needed to change. Forgive the past, let's move on as better people. Now mom knows. I don't think any of the other Groomer's were as straight and clear with pet mom as Dede was here. But now they are all clear and on the same page, and now the healing can take place. Best of luck pet mom, you are brave. Haters are gonna hate. As far as I am concerned, I am not judging you. Sometimes things get away from us. We are human. Now you know. I think Dede is brave to really bring people in and be given the chance to SEE how bad the problems can be. If you really were an evil person, you would not feel bad. You would not cry if you did not care about the dog. Also, people need to realize that Dede is a gem. There are not people or Groomer's like her everywhere. I am learning a lot about leadership from Dede. The mom had to drive over an hour just to get there! She kept searching for the right person to help. And now they are all on track to a better quality of life for that pet. Bravo everyone! Thank you pet mom, and Dede for allowing us in to see and learn from your experiences. Xoxo
Kayla Hall I agree! I think pet mom was just not educated enough on pet grooming. Hopefully she put into action what she has learn today! She did feel bad so I hope that she keeps it up.
Also the pet mom said she has had her only about a year and was lied yo about the age of the dog as well..so thats going to make bonding and trust difficult
Dede, I really like the way you talk about the ethics of grooming here, and prioritising the needs of the animal. I think you and the dog's parent did a great job here. Thanks for sharing your videos and all your tips.
This is the best groomer I've ever seen, I noticed lots of comments that don't seem to grasp how difficult and what risk this women has willing taken with these matted dogs others turned away. I'm amazed at her talent to do what the animal desperately needs. Its embarrassing for the owner but they are not a hero for keeping the dog or finally taking action after ignoring and neglecting the problem to this point the groomer is the hero. Shes not judgemental but firm and brave to post these uncomfortable situations for the world to see, I think it shows how much she cares for the animal to show these situations and educate owners. I have seen in the comments what a lot of people not in that situation or that don't have a difficult breed like this think about what she must do for the animals well being. Let's not forget this animal is in pain and suffering daily every hour before it came in every step it took pulled its skin and hurt. This women stopped the pain that poor animal had endured and it might have been uncomfortable to watch but not wanting to face the abuse and neglect letting your dog be matted is the only action that was harmful to this animal and the owner inflicted that harm. If you find it honorable or brave to take care of a animal that you decided to bring into your home its not its just a duty and responsibility you signed up for when you made that choice so let's give the honor and respect to the person who earned it and went to school was harassed online and still uploaded to educate others this wonderful groomer who could have easily turned away and not put her self out there but did anyway for the sake of the animal and to educate as many people as possible to prevent future abuse. If I had more words to explain how in awe I am I would but they don't do it justice so I will stop here.
That was amazing! I'm not a groomer and right now, I don't even have a dog! I somehow stumbled on to your channel and really enjoy how you work with your clients. This poor Mom was in way over her head! She was so stressed, she was shutting down. You were able to keep her spirits up, groom the dog, and not get hurt. Both Mom and pup went home as happy as could be! I bet they both slept well that night! Thanks!
I totally agree!! Everyone is bashing the mom but rescue dogs come with lots of issues. I've been bitten by rescue dogs for combing alone! Some never get better cuz of the trauma they been thru.
I don’t think the owner was neglectful as such. She said herself she was adopted and certain things the adoption stated were untrue for example her age. Her going to different groomers shows she’s trying to do right by the dog but got turned away. She was also stating how she could barely handle the dog at home let alone do a groom. With difficult dogs some people just need to be educated and clearly she wasn’t expecting this temperament in the dog. Instead of judging and trying to claim how long the dog has truly been matted for, just be great full that this dog isn’t in a kennel locked in a cage for most of his life or potentially even getting put to sleep due to her unsettling nature. What we should be doing is giving her advice on how to handle this situation better.
michelle almeida thank you. I actually feel bad for the owner. She seemed super embarrassed at the dogs state....let’s hope dede put her on scheduled visits and she kept up with them.
I feel the moms pain, feeling bad about the pups condition. But wow, she did a brilliant job. She found the strength to hold the pup. And at the end the dog was almost calm because all that “gunk” under the eyes was gone, and must’ve been such relief to feel clean. Well done Dede, mom and David 🙏🏻🐶🐾💜
After watching the video, i breathed a sigh of relief for everybody, dog included. It was some production, and like you said, we look forward, dont look back. Get on track. I could see from the owners responses to your questions during the procedure, that she's been stressed and couldn't give detailed replies: used a lot of "um's" and "like", but few facts. Her mind was a little numb, like she's bracing herself for failure again, but, with directions firm and clear from you, she was able to assist with the grooming and got the dog where it needed to be. Good experience all the way around. And you comforted the owner: VERY good! Kindness is always the best way to go. You did a fine job, Girly!
I randomly found your channel 3 days ago and I'm hooked... no dog and I have no desire to be a groomer but watching you work is really cool and educational for when I do get a dog.. Plus you do great work, keep up the good job!!
That was awesome Dede. I really appreciate how thorough you are with your grooming. The empathy that you have for the pet parent and the pet is incredible. Keep doing what you're doing. ❤
This is one of the things I love about watching you groom. You're patient and help teach the pet parent that even though some of the handling techniques may seem scary, they are actually not hurting the dog and for the protection of both the dog and the groomer.
Honestly so refreshing to hear an owner say that they're trying to project their own calmness onto to the animal. Many owners don't realize how much their own emotions effect the pet.
lol this is definitely one of the signature groom videos =p Dede's skills are on full display, the momma is active and responsible, the pooch is difficult but lovable, and of course the state of the poor dog is dramatically improved in the process.
Hey Dede, I love what you do! People don't realize the energy you have to emit in order to work with dogs/people with trauma. I wish you many blessings in your life. You have found your joy!
Dede could you do a home grooming 101 type video where you show basic home grooming routine that people can use on a regular basis between professional grooms?
Thank you Dede I will check them too, I joined your channel 2 days ago but already saw some great moves of how I can make my cairn terrier more comfortable with grooming. Greetings from Germany
I so feel for the mom here. You can tell she’s just so stressed and wants her pup to feel better. I love all people involved. Everyone doing fantastic. This dog will be so much happier ❤️❤️
The little pupper looks so great after the grooming treatment & it’s wonderful that Mom was able to participate & learn so much...as they say, it’s better late than never. I wish you much happiness with your little dog Mom 🙏 & Miss Dede, thank you for sharing this, you do an amazing job. 🤩 Edit add in: new subscriber. 😁
Your patience is astounding. Between the pet parent saying "Like" every other word and not being able to communicate about her search for a groomer who could help and the activeness of the dog, I would have shaved them both and called it a day. Thank you for showing others how to deal with outrageous situations and GET THE JOB DONE.
This isn't about being on camera, this is about being a responsible pet owner. She was fine in the beginning, talking about about calming her down with Melatonin. From watching this video, the pet owner doesn't do what's healthy for the pet. There was a baby carrot sized GOB of matted hair and eye discharge that was claimed to have been cleaned 3 months ago. Dede even said at the end, that there was no way it was 3 months. Communicating with Vets, Vet assistants, and groomers is KEY for the health and safety of your pet. Of course it's stressful. I totally agree. However, if doing what you need to do for any pet stresses someone out, perhaps they aren't ready to have one.
She said there was no way the dogs face had been cleaned in over 3 months, not that she hadn't been to a groomer. The groomer she has been going to should have been honest about not being able to do it and stopped charging her for a groom job they didn't do.
The owner said in the video that her old groomer wasnt able to clean the dog's face. So yeah makes sense it's been over 3 months. The owner never said her face was cleaned within 3 months.
Frann R - ROFLMAO, it has taken me so long toreador down this far, liking and giving a few thumbs down to some a__holes! Your ‘call it a day’ quip just caused that scene to play in my head, so funny. The rest of your comment is also excellent.
Poor dog so happy just to see out of first eye cleared of that painful matting The pain is why she doesn't want to be petted. You are definitely a Great groomer.
DeDe - This was an awesome video! It seems the more you worked with the dog removing the mats, knots, dirt and eye gunk, the more calm and happy the dog got. I especially love the end of the groom and the bath with the dog wagging her tail as if to say "See, I'm not really mean and nasty. I was just very uncomfortable and hurting with all this stuff going on." It looks like you even removed feces that were matted into her fur. Wonderful job! Good on you. I hope you get to do a follow-up with this one so we can see how life changing a good thorough grooming and cleaning can be for a pet. Thanks.
Man. I can totally relate to this situation not with my dog, but with my son. He’s almost 16 and is autistic. His haircuts are exactly like this. Starts out ok, then starts losing patience...gets aggressive and me getting stressed. I have to hold my kids head, I’ve even had to sit on him. I went through all the emotions with this video. And no, I’m not comparing my son to an animal just the situation. Bravo to Mom and Dede for getting the job done! I feel the pet Mom. I drive 2 hours to get my kids hair cut because the lady that does it is the only one I’ve found that can handle his shenanigans. NEVER forget these people during the holidays! Dede, you are one AMAZING person! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Crystal White I am so sorry you have to go through this I would think it would be harder with the human. But I’m glad you’re human doesn’t have teeth like this animal dies. If you want to try to do this haircut at home with your autistic child here are some ideas I’m I have for you. I’m going off the wall here because I’ve never groomed and autistic human. But. It can be challenging. Artistic people think and patterns I believe. So lay out a grid with tape on the floor I know this sounds weird. But the chair in the center of the room in the center of tape. Hang in front of the person some kind of plastic like a shower curtain and draw a grid or something on it. Something for the human to focus On wall whomever is giving the haircut. Right numbers in the boxes. Whoever is Grooming the human needs to call that number is well here she is grooming the human. He needs to be a task as well as productive haircutting. Do you know what I mean? Please give it a try do it on video so I can see what’s happening and I can make better tweaks to the idea maybe I can make It a smooth her job. Thanks for watching appreciate you
Dede Croy THAT is a fantastic idea! I’ll work with him at home and maybe make something more portable for the hairdresser. Maybe use iPad and do a count down clock? He’s obsessed with time and when the haircut is going to be over! You’ve got the wheels turning in my head now! Thank you so much! I love how you think outside of the box. It gets pretty overwhelming sometimes. ❤️
Crystal White my twin brothers are 12 and they’re autistic too. I drive about 90 min out of town to get a haircut. I found a lady that is really patient with them and they’re used of her now. Is totally worth the drive. She gives them a tablet to let them play games and that’s how they get entertain. She talks to them a lot too so they get distracted in some way. Hugs to you and your son.
I'm a new groomer and I absolutely love this video! People, this is real. This is how it can go. I see so many videos that are the most docile and calm dogs that make it seem as if grooming though is a breeze. Its work. Hard work! At the end of the day, sometimes you feel like you been beat up and hung out to dry. I'm not complaining, just want pet parents to know that you pay a premium because of all that goes into grooming. Just keeping it real. 😊🐕
Bless you Dede, what an awesome job. Pet Mom....you were brave getting through being on here, even though clearly overwhelmed by it all. Very happy for the dog most of all!
As always an amazing groom. This one was more emotional. I felt totally involved with this process. Your in depth descriptions are the best. When the mum was holding her breath, you were aware of her current state. Just amazing groom.
You guys did a GREAT JOB!!! Even the dog did a GREAT JOB I hope you have the next visit on video as well. The dog seems so much happier with out all the matted hair around her face
Dede, I can’t say enough times how I love watching your videos. You are so compassionate and you know what needs to be done to help these beautiful dogs!!! Kudos to you again and thank you for letting us all watch your videos
This is completely random but, a great item to add to your store would be a monthly subscription box for groomers! They pay a monthly fee and you put together a cute box with supplies and accessories! I would love it and I believe others would to!
@@xsimplysarahx1307Ohh! That's cute. Even though I don't live in that state, I'd think it was a really cool option from a groomer! GENUINELY great idea, Sarah! And that price seems fair for each party...!
Looks like she was so agressive because she couldn't see. i certainly would be if i was in a strange place, couldn't properly see, were in pain and then some buzzing thing comes close to my face and made it hurt a bit by pulling on the mats. I hope she's doing better from now on.
I love the way that groomer lady kept talking to the dog reassuring the dog that she was okay. And the mom had only had her for a year so it wasn't the Mama's fault that the dog was matted up that bad. The people that own the dog before didn't even take very good care of it. Thank God that lady come in and adopted the dog and got it taken care of. even though she had to go through several different groomers till she sounded groomer that would get the job done. The lady who owns the dog did a very good job of helping that groomer lady get the dog taken care of.
Tasmanian Devil Are you serious!? A dog mats in way less than a year. Happy the owner is trying to help her, but matting doesn’t happen over a a year, it can happen in months, even weeks. 🤦🏼♀️
I own a shih tzu and those mats were not from before this lady owned the dog, if they were it would have been 10x worse. Shih tzus are a very high maintenance pet and if you go a week without brushing they’ll begin to get mats. I’m glad she did the responsible thing and sought professional grooming and hopefully moving forward this pup wasn’t matted
great job DD! the serious look on davids face when you were trimming the face with the scissors, so funny! moms look on her face when you were pulling the ear hair out was the best! TFS!
You are so sweet to these guys. I‘m so glad you do this! You use as little restraint as possible(meaning you only use what you need and don‘t over restrain) and you‘re so patient. You also talk to them in a nice calm manner and you keep your calm. I love it!
So sad for the dogs condition, but the owners "aha moment" gave me hope for her! Educating someone goes so much further than judgement ever will! I commend you and your great work!
Seriously have zero idea how I got here 😂 but I’ve been watching these videos now for the past hour. You are such a rock star and have the most patience out of anyone I’ve seen. The job isn’t pretty, and the job isn’t easy...but the work you do is so greatly needed and improves the life of these pups that they likely never had before.
Always do a great job !!!! I do love that you never turn anyone away. Pet parents have to learn and if no one tells them how will they ever understand. It's a good lesson for all watching.
You were a professional in every sense of the word! I was watching as you advanced on that head and face thinking you have done all the easy parts now how are you going to get that head and face and like solving a Rubik’s cube suddenly you got it done. Amazing. It was drama and suspense as good as any Hollywood production. A real nail biter with a happy ending.
This has been such an education for me. I had a pet and now I see where I could have been a better pet owner. Thank you for the tips and thanks pet parents for sharing your experience.
When you got that second clump of hair from her eyes, that little doggy looked around as if to say ...Wow I can see!...She even calmed down for a short while...finally realizing that you Dede were really helping her to feel better...Love it!
I needed to watch this video BEFORE I groomed my friend’s new yorkie today. He wasn’t aggressive, but man was he a squirmy dude. Learning how to have someone assist will be a GREAT help. You’re seriously the best groomer ever.
I give props for mom bringing the dog in. If she didnt care she would have kept the dog matted. Its a lot of work to keep on top of grooming shitzus. I can tell she felt bad for the dog being that way. She prob didnt have money to keep taking the dog to the groomers and decided to groom the dog herself. With the dog not liking being groomed in the face she prob just gave up and did what she could. I used to have a shitzu so boy do i understand. Its hard to just say to yourself ok maybe I need to give her to someone who has time and money because I cant afford to keep up with grooming. Esp when you got so much love to give. Im glad she decided to do the right thing and bring the dog in.
Dede you are the best! Your videos are not only informative but also educational. You obviously have a great passion to help these dogs and their owners. Thank you for what you do! I sort of accidentally found your channel today but you better believe I am now a subscriber! You're not only a kind, highly skilled and compassionate groomer, but you are a teacher. A great one at that!
Mr.Free she has no idea what she’s doing. As an animal trainer and groomer the behaviors and actions she takes with these animals are very damaging so it’s no wonder they “act out”. Which honestly most of the “aggressive” dogs she’s posted videos on aren’t aggressive, they’re responding to being choked out and mishandled by this groomer and her “assistants” which are just untrained pet parents.
Wow Dede! You are phenomenal! I know that dog feels so much better thanks to you, David, and the pet parent. I feel like I know how the pet parent feels. Years ago when I had a cat I noticed how when he would chew his dry food half of it would fall out of his mouth back into his food bowl. I took him to the vet and he had pretty bad tooth decay needing a few teeth pulled! I felt so guilty for not realizing the problem sooner! Since that, I made sure to regularly check his whole body, including his ears and mouth for any issues. Thank you to you and the pet parent for sharing. ; )
You should put before and after photos of your dogs at the end of the grooming. I’ve notice you take the photos, I just think that would add a lot of interest to your videos! People love being able to visibly see the difference that is being made. Just something I think would be beneficial for you to add. 😊
I think this went great! Mom did a great job holding and ya'll got this done quickly and the dog expressed it's preferences but never really spooled up into severe aggression.
wolfen26 well that's like me while you might see tiny tiny cuts it doesn't mean it's in pain, for me I hated haircuts when I was a little kid. The red skin is because of friction, touching, movement.
You are an extremely understanding and compassionate groomer and thank God for you. Thank you for helping all these people and furbabies. God bless you
Wow! You got a new subscriber here! This video really gave great tips for a difficult dog.. that baby felt 100% better when you were finished!! I'd bet you will not have a hard time with her next time! She could actually see! Thank you for helping her and the owner..🙂
You are FANTASTIC!! I was a groomer for years. We did anything that would fit through the door. We did a little monkey, rabbits, baby lamb etc....Most of our clients were poodles. The meanest dog I ever did was a Scottie. Next was a Wolf cross who backed me into a corner before we got a muzzle on him. Keep up the great work. I love your video's. Linda
This is soo beautiful, to see this process. Amazing how the Mom learned alot and Dede was not only there for the sweet little doggy but also for the mum.
OMG yes the eye boogers were atrocious! I felt for the dog AND mom too. I've learned SO much on your channel, so thank you. It's a needed business and I know it's dangerous for real! I appreciate your passion and how serious you take your work.😊👍❤️
Dede is a dam miracle Groomer, and you can see how much love she has for all the pets she works with...God Bless Her...I just ordered a bunch of her products for my teacup Yorkie, and she helped me every step of the way...You're just the best and I love all of your videos!
You can't get too mad at her. She tried to groom her. But the dog refused to let her try. So i csn see how the situation got put of hand.
You are definitely a lifesaver to these people💛
CoyKoi I thought the mom was fine with everything...she was just embarrassed for allowing the dog to get that way...good job yo them both
49:07 "It's okay, it's a learning process. Now you know."
"We'll just get on track. And we won't look back."
Premium life advice right there😭😭😭😭 I really needed to hear that no lie
Liz Garcia Honey me too 😘
Liz Garcia me too, Dede be giving good advice
You can tell mom was upset about it.. sometimes you have to realise the mistake then you know that it's important... that was very good advice its embarrassing to walk in somewhere and say here's my matted dog , very good advice
Liz Garcia yes. Definitely ❤️❤️❤️

Aw the ending made me cry. It's good mom got to experience the whole thing for sure. Letting them understand their animal better and their health is a great thing. You did an amazing job Dede!!
Me too.... It had a pretty happy ending though, with a nice clean cut dog!
I love how the Mom progressed during the session. And the dog was so happy afterwards. Wonderful job Dede
I just watched this and admire you for helping the dog, and for treating her owner with kindness and no shaming. If you had been mean or sarcastic, she would be too ashamed to return. Your straight forward teaching and encouragement are the right approaches. Thank you!
I love how you educate your clients as well. Excellent job!
I noticed that, too! She was smiling and much happier.
Sabrina deep iii
Mom seemed more confident as well. Dogs can read their parent's emotion. So I think Mom showing more confidence will help her puppy trust that everything is going to be okay. Will make the grooming easier. Hopefully she follows through with the homework. Really great effort all around. Adorable little dog.
Sabrina deep - That’s exactly what I noticed. She was like a canine deaf mute, “Wait, I can hear, I can see! Oh, thank you, DeDe!” The perfect ending for me would have been to put her down in the floor and watch her do a happy dance, lol.
I know that when my old little poodle mix gets her summer cut she's extremely happy to be free of the fur and out of her eyes.
Mom, you did great. You learned. You were part of the process. And you'll move forward.
L. Donald Telle, Jr. yes me too the stand it looks hard but she still did an amazing job
It's also disingenuous of rescues to tell a prospective adopter that a senior dog is 1 year old just to be able to get them in a home.
Lovin'Life2016 I ask the same question of my dentist every time she pulls out that damn drill! 😁
How many do you reckon would go back when they found out that she was old to return the poor duck? Not this mama
This pup look so relieved when that matted lump of fur was removed from her face. I have a new found respect for animal groomers. DeDe you are truly good at what you do ❤️
For sure
Yes she is ..
Hair dressers don’t have to worry about being bit, pee or poop on your table!
you are so good at grooming and everything else you do for the doggies I know this is a video but it hurts me to read the Mommy's face there's no love for this pup, just ask her if she has kids this dog I'm thinking was used as the toy for her kids like I said read her face at the dog doesn't nearly show that there is love for him please take it as a good criticism it's just that I am a dog lover and it hurts and I know the groomer knows what's going on but she cannot do anything about that but just try to convince them to bring her and more often and I don't know how to put it but in a subtle way tell her that has to be a lot of love given to this pup please and may God bless you you're the best
You need a show on animal planet. Then I’d actually watch the channel again. Amazing work!
Tell Animal Planet for me will you?
Yeah, I don't doubt she'll get there eventually! Give her the hook-up then why don't 'cha? Speed up the process like the beloved Doctor Pol (💖) .
lol
But I could totally see that happening...
Still watch though?
Quin Ugo YESSSS I would love that!
I would binge watch that lol
I totally just cried when you went and hugged the Mom.
I cried when i looked at the dog. Poor little dog he could not see a thing. If you can't get your dog Groomed FIND ANOTHER ONE FAST.There was a little dog trying to live under all of that. He couldn't see anything. I would be bitting people too
I need assistance from her
@@debbiecraddock7204 The fact that the mom cried crocodile tears at the end, but not at the sight of her dog to begin with... like what
Your the BEST dog groomer I've seen.
I cried like a baby
Kayla Hall brushing this dog every day will help with the bonding also.
Also the pet mom said she has had her only about a year and was lied yo about the age of the dog as well..so thats going to make bonding and trust difficult
Her hold on her dog improved throughout the grooming process
So mom couldn’t go on TH-cam like the rest of us, or consulted vet? Ridiculous.
I’m glad the owners are included in this groom so they understand the seriousness of this and the pain the dog has to go through
Dede, I really like the way you talk about the ethics of grooming here, and prioritising the needs of the animal.
If I had more words to explain how in awe I am I would but they don't do it justice so I will stop here.
well said
That was amazing!
Your amazing you really care about the dog that is awesome
EXACTLY!I AGREE WITH YOU ON EVERYTHING YOU SAID HERE IN THE COMMENT!SO SO RIGHT!!
@@dianehaggart7297 I AGREE!
I agree. I also think if the lady cutting would stay a little calmer or softer voice it would help all involved especially the dog.
I would love to see a follow up video for one of these badly matted pups to see how they progress mentally with grooming.
MissMargaret absolutely!
Moi aussi j aimerais voir une deuxième séance de chien qui ont déjà était toilette pour voir leur comportement
Just loved how you treated pup & mom, very good Deedee!
I am so glad that you said to breathe because I didn't realise that I was holding my breath too! Another fantastic video.
Why isnt groomer holding the dog? This is nuts!
Connie Coburn the groomer has to groom! But momma has to hold her just like when you take your kids for their shots, Mom/Dad gotta hold them.

I randomly found your channel 3 days ago and I'm hooked... no dog and I have no desire to be a groomer but watching you work is really cool and educational for when I do get a dog.. Plus you do great work, keep up the good job!!

ok literally same

I found it today and I’m hooked. Lol. I don’t have pets. 😂
That was awesome Dede. I really appreciate how thorough you are with your grooming. The empathy that you have for the pet parent and the pet is incredible. Keep doing what you're doing. ❤
This groomer is awesome. I am retired groomer and I know exactly what she did. She is awesome. There are not many like her or me.
Many owners don't realize how much their own emotions effect the pet.
lol this is definitely one of the signature groom videos =p
Dede's skills are on full display, the momma is active and responsible, the pooch is difficult but lovable, and of course the state of the poor dog is dramatically improved in the process.
Hey Dede, I love what you do! People don't realize the energy you have to emit in order to work with dogs/people with trauma. I wish you many blessings in your life. You have found your joy!
God bless you great job helping with the parents and their babies
If we can land people on the moon, why in the hell can't we invent a SOUNDLESS clipper/razor ???
& vacuums?
It's less about the sound and more that it hurts clipping off the mats
My mom's Maltese CANNOT stand the vibrations. They set him off. He has to be drugged for grooming.
& vibrators!!!!#
sound is the vibration of air basically, so kinda no?
Dede could you do a home grooming 101 type video where you show basic home grooming routine that people can use on a regular basis between professional grooms?
Kimberley Paige Did you watch the two that are already on my channel?
@@myfavoritegroomer nope just found you
Thank you Dede I will check them too, I joined your channel 2 days ago but already saw some great moves of how I can make my cairn terrier more comfortable with grooming. Greetings from Germany
Oh my god I had to breathe again when she was telling everyone to breathe because I didn't realise I had also stopped breathing... good video
Frann R not everyone is comfortable in front of camera so what if she was stuttering a bit
I love how you just listened to her story and didn’t judge
dede is honestly the sweetest person, like around the 48 min mark .... wow ! brought tears to my eyes tbh
Thank you for being there to help out these dogs. Can’t imagine how bad the eye mat must of smelled. Love watching your grooms
Poor dog so happy just to see out of first eye cleared of that painful matting The pain is why she doesn't want to be petted.
You are definitely a
Great groomer.
Hugs to you and your son.
omglalalove These kiddos are so special and worth every second of our time! Hugs to your brothers! And extra hugs to you! ❤️
I compare my autistic son to a labradore.....my autistic daughter to a spolied cat
As a dog groomer you did an amazing job....mum should be proud of herself for doing such a great job
You are so fast, this is necessary! So glad there are groomers like you out there to help pups like this.
The dog clearly felt a lot better after the bath, and your advice to Mom about playing with her face was excellent. Good job. Well done.
You guys did a GREAT JOB!!! Even the dog did a GREAT JOB
I hope you have the next visit on video as well. The dog seems so much happier with out all the matted hair around her face
What a lovely dog and so good. You have made her feel free of all that horrible mess. Congratulations. And thanks.😀👏👋
I would love it and I believe others would to!
xSimplySarahx you got it
xSimplySarahx what’s your budget on a repeat box?
I would pay up to $50/month
A year is a pretty long time.
great job DD! the serious look on davids face when you were trimming the face with the scissors, so funny! moms look on her face when you were pulling the ear hair out was the best!
Love this and how you comfort the mom! You're awesome! Thank you for teaching us and for all you do! You see how much you love animals!
I feel SO bad for the doggo’s mom. She explained how difficult it’s been and she’s doing her best.
People love to make excuses. She's full of some stuff
I feel bad for the poor dog
Always do a great job !!!! I do love that you never turn anyone away. Pet parents have to learn and if no one tells them how will they ever understand. It's a good lesson for all watching.
Laurene Hamilton yes it is especially when Dede showed her how to hold her head and mouth great job Dede .
I thought she turned away a cat once, i may be wrong, but hey cats a vicious.
(Coming from an owner of 4 cats)
Mom was getting better and better at handling the dog as things progressed, I noticed.
You’re a very compassionate person, good job, on the dog too. Seriously, well done.
This has been such an education for me. I had a pet and now I see where I could have been a better pet owner. Thank you for the tips and thanks pet parents for sharing your experience.
Very intense! You did a wonderful job. Thank you for helping this baby and her Mama out. And thank you to the Mom for not giving up finding help.
Luv how Dede is transparent she has nothing to hide a hard thankless job...she is expert, top in her line of work❣️👏

I have to say thank you to both dee dee and the pet parent. All the learning from this one vid. Amazing.
You are any and every dog's savior. No lie.
j shep wouldn’t let her near any of my clients or my own personal dogs.
Alicia Warren Elaborate please?
Mr.Free she has no idea what she’s doing. As an animal trainer and groomer the behaviors and actions she takes with these animals are very damaging so it’s no wonder they “act out”. Which honestly most of the “aggressive” dogs she’s posted videos on aren’t aggressive, they’re responding to being choked out and mishandled by this groomer and her “assistants” which are just untrained pet parents.
Thumbs down for you! If you feel that way, why are you here? You need to get down off your high horse and go do something kind and beneficial.
Alicia Warren choked out? Girl bye 👋🏾
Thank you to you and the pet parent for sharing. ; )
I am so glad I found you here. I have an aggressive Shi- Poo and I have learned so very much . Thank you for doing what you do.
Mom being emotional is me crying here in front of my screen ☹️GOOD JOB EVERYONE
You should put before and after photos of your dogs at the end of the grooming. I’ve notice you take the photos, I just think that would add a lot of interest to your videos! People love being able to visibly see the difference that is being made. Just something I think would be beneficial for you to add. 😊

@@myfavoritegroomer that link doesn't work ☹️
Crystal Rivera /yes a before/after photo & the age of the pet would be nice as well👌🏼💯
I think this went great! Mom did a great job holding and ya'll got this done quickly and the dog expressed it's preferences but never really spooled up into severe aggression.
I think a lot of the biting was because it was not only scared, but in pain. Mats hurt and I saw how red it's skin was!
wolfen26 well that's like me while you might see tiny tiny cuts it doesn't mean it's in pain, for me I hated haircuts when I was a little kid. The red skin is because of friction, touching, movement.
Such an amazing educator! Dede, thank you for posting your videos.
Wow! Great job! Happy to see the owners love and concern for her pet.
You are an extremely understanding and compassionate groomer and thank God for you. Thank you for helping all these people and furbabies. God bless you
Oh Dede. What a wonderful job. You are just my superstar right now. So kind. So skillful. Wow. Great job.
Wow! You got a new subscriber here! This video really gave great tips for a difficult dog.. that baby felt 100% better when you were finished!! I'd bet you will not have a hard time with her next time! She could actually see! Thank you for helping her and the owner..🙂

Good job Mom. And you are an AMAZING groomer!! Your passion shows!❤🐶
Amazing job i love this pet parent she’s a sweet heart and so helpful and understanding
Linda
You are so awesome! Great job getting the mom involved and talking both mom and dog thru that challenging grooming. 💖
Very intense "episode", very informative. And aww when Mom started to tear up!
