Thanks for making this video. I’m deciding on which path to take: mod or prebuilt, so this video was helpful in my research. It’s clear that this type of machine is where the retro and custom arcade industry is heading.
This is a great video and I thank you for it. But here are the most important questions for most of us: 1) in general, how are the controls? How do Tempest and Centipede play on this console compared to arcade 1up? 2) How is the monitor? How does it compare to arcade 1 up? 3) How is the emulation? Have you noticed any slow down in any games?
The fact they have a service that's using VMs to allow you to stream is super interesting, I'm glad that the local game streaming function is coming, this thing just has a crap ton of versatility that you're not getting with A1up as least for right now

With everything you can upload, firestick... etc. It would never collect dust. Thanks for comparison of height with all 3 . That would take alot of guess work out.

Awesome video definitely informative. As always great music 😊 I just hope they keep these updates and services up to date. They seem committed though which is encouraging.
Shawn Harper fingers crossed the updates continue and further improve the product and gameplay functionality for the better, that will make or break some of this cabinets features in the long run

Very informative video and cool looking cabinet. I'm in the process of modding a 1up with a Pi and other goodies but maybe I should have just bought one of these. I bet there is a lot of potential for modding this cab as well.
02stampede they just rolled out a firmware update last night that allows a raspberry pi to be integrated with this machine via Bluetooth without the need for modding. You can use the control deck to control and play the pi games once it’s connected via Bluetooth
Kevo the sams club version of this AtGames arcade cabinet is quite good and really offers a lot of great options and versatility for gamers to play their favorite games.
Dan Orlovsky the buttons and sticks feel decent, middle of the road quality. You can easily swap out the sticks as the stock ones are just Sanwa clones. The stock buttons are screw on type and have easy connects for disconnecting the wires really easily.

That was a much more positive video than I think this cabinet deserves. But I'm glad there's going to be at least some options to escape the horribly priced Arcadenet subscription.
scott boehmer I think this thing is getting a bad rap because people think they are being forced to pay to play. They claim that won’t be the case for some of the online functions, we’ll see if that turns out to be true or not soon enough.
How was the emulation on these games? I know that in the past, AtGames were hit or miss, mostly with the Genesis titles having weird sound, while Atari stuff was pretty solid.
danmanx2 I doubt anyone would be a fan of subscription services. However they just added the ability to add your own roms to this machine, which makes things very interesting.
Jonathan Stubbs Guitar there are a couple of third party vendors that will be offering custom artwork options for these arcade cabinets later this week.
As always, does anybody do it better than Cooltoy? Nope!!! Another stud review my friend. P.S. I'm starting to fall in love with this machine after only 48hrs. Lol
I recently got the 1.1. Haven't had much luck with my machine or support .the ctr board failed so the control deck doesn't work anymore. My unit worked for about a month. It was awesome while it worked though. The features and possibilities are wonderful. Stock controls are quality. Coin ops was a breeze to install and the majority of the added games I tried seemed to run decently. Hopefully they can address the ctr issue to make this thing solid. Waiting to hear back from support .
i have 6,500 ROMS for NES, SuperNintendo, nintendo 64 , NeoGeo , TurboGraphix , gameboy advance ,Sega Master System & Sega genesis. i need this machine!
Great work on the review! I'll tell you what, this arcade system looks quite impressive to begin with, but - when I saw "Dragon's Lair" displayed, I just stared enthusiastically at the screen with deeper appreciation.
this arcade cabinet is turning into something truly special. With each new firmware update they rollout each week, this cabinet gets more and more cool features added to it.
This sounds pretty cool, it makes me wonder though regarding Nintendo games and the like if those games would be considered pirated? I know Nintendo can be pretty protective over it's properties so I'm surprised to see them on this machine. I like the idea of an arcade Netflix type of product, $20 a month is a bit too much for it though in my opinion. I'll keep an eye on this for sure though. Good video.
Dude I just want to add MAME on it. Or hook up a laptop. How cool would it be to play diablo on this thing? Lol. Love your vids man! Thank you for keeping us posted and up to date with news. Omg...I saw the blizzard app. 1 dollar an hour? Hmmmm. Nevertheless this seems really breakthrough. Wow.

Brian Jenkins Sanwa joysticks are often considered the best brand available. The octagonal gates are typically something people who play a lot of fighting games prefer as it allows for smoother quarter circle movements
Spinners are great. Buttons and sticks are not name brand, but I would describe them as a happy medium between the name brands and the bottom of the barrel knock offs.

One thing that bugs me is the height issue of the controls. I think you mentioned it on stream. I’m wondering if you have gotten used to it yet or how you feel after a few days of messing with this cab now.
I'm used to the control height personally. I've played this cabinet on a couple of 2 and 3 hour stretches just fine. I'm 6"1 if anyone is significantly taller than me, they likely would have some issues.

ThomasGrillo the subscriptions aren’t mandatory. And since your can add your own roms to this machine, it’s pretty much a moot point to get the subscription service unless later down the line they enable online play vs friends
Are the games emulated properly? I have the first Sega Genesis Classic console from AtGames and the graphics and sound are slightly off from the original versions. I'd want to make sure they didn't repeat their mistakes with this before buying.
Do you know if the manufacturer might offer the control panel separate from the cabinet? I've been looking for an all-in-one solution for a long time (2-player fightstick & button set, dials, and trackball), but nobody seems to sell anything with every control input.

Does the Sams Club exclusive BLAST stick finally have the actual arcade ROMS? Or is it the NES ROMS like the stand alone BLAST units sold at local stores?
Chris2fett it’s the actual arcade roms
when you use Blast, can you use the arcade buttons?
Larry Stephens yes you can
Hi My friend do You know how i can get off the parents controls ? Cause always Say the parents controls it's on .....and what hapen if this it's on or off it's something change ???
Great video! Do you know if this Cabinet will be in stock again soon?
It was in stock yesterday on Walmart's website. Out of stock again now, you just have to keep checking their website frequently.
wow that's alot of work for that machine I seen Dragon's Lair did they have Space Ace
I did not see Space Ace.
@@cooltoy GOG has a Dragon's Lair Trilogy which includes Space Ace. So you could always add that to BYOG. It goes on sale often.

I just need to know how Tron runs and plays, if its all good then I will buy asap!
Tron runs just fine, playing it is somewhat difficult since there is no flight joystick on this cabinet.
@@cooltoy well that's unfortunate, if arcade1up came out with one it'd perfect, supposed I'd want a dedicated cab for the controls and artwork. Thanks for your response, love the channel!
Yes thank you very helpful info , still green in understanding some of it but helpful. Do you know if their is an option to send the game from the game console or monitor to a bigger screen if someone has one ? Thanks
How do the controllers feel?
Pogo's Place nice middle of the road quality
Thanks for the review. Not sure I like the idea of paying 20 dollars a month (over 200 a year), to play games, though.
ThomasGrillo the subscriptions aren’t mandatory. And since your can add your own roms to this machine, it’s pretty much a moot point to get the subscription service unless later down the line they enable online play vs friends
Indeed. I'm learning this, as I find more, and more recent reviews about this machine. Very cool stuff.
How does the trackball and spinner work during game play?
spinners and trackball work very well during gameplay. I've been pleased.
Are the games emulated properly? I have the first Sega Genesis Classic console from AtGames and the graphics and sound are slightly off from the original versions. I'd want to make sure they didn't repeat their mistakes with this before buying.
yes all the games are emulated correctly. AtGames made sure to avoid making the same mistakes of their past with this arcade
@@cooltoy awesome
One question I’m still unsure about, do you still need to pay the subscription to run games off your own USB?
nope
can you add track and field as can not see it and it so whats the cost
Justin Burton-stones yes you can add track and field for free using the usb add on method
Do you know if the manufacturer might offer the control panel separate from the cabinet? I've been looking for an all-in-one solution for a long time (2-player fightstick & button set, dials, and trackball), but nobody seems to sell anything with every control input.
I can see you swapped the joysticks with Happ style. Is that your personal preference or are the sanwa Knockoffs in there just junky?
therexershow I just swapped the ball tops for bat tops. Joysticks underneath are still the stock ones, which are Sanwa clones and feel good enough easy to put in a name brand joystick if you want though.
COOLTOY how do you take off the call tops. I tried just unscrewing but they spin and spin. Tips please.
Can Tekken 7 be streamed on this cabinet??
if you're PC can run the game, yes
@@cooltoy ok thanks
