I was looking for a clean, modern, no-miter Craftsman-style casing without all the unnecessary extra trim pieces that serve no purpose. You "nailed" it, and this is the casing design for the doors and windows in all my current and future renovations. Big thanks!
Slicker than snot on a door knob! I’m about to trim my basement windows. I like the look of this style and am glad I don’t need to fidget with mitring the trim to out of square casings. Thanks for posting this!
@@JessedoesDIY I did the trim yesterday to all 5 windows, with filling all holes I accomplished it by the end of the morning. Both my wife and I like the outcome! The tips on filling pin holes, backing with cardboard where needed (I ended up using cut up pieces of leftover LVP from the floor install), and grouting the seams are really handy. Great video with clear, no frills instruction. Thanks again!
I am in the process of installing window and door trim. I have conducted a lot on research on this topic but it all seemed so involved until now. This video changed my life! Thank you for simplifying this process so even I can accomplish the installation.
Excellent video. I’m going all in on this. Love it. Have 5 windows and 3 doors in my finished basement renovation I’ll do like this. Then I’ll rip out everything upstairs to do the same. Good job man...

Great video Jesse! I just followed your steps on my door install and trim/baseboards. Super easy!
Thanks very much, I'm glad I could help!
@@JessedoesDIY how would you recommend doing the corners for baseboards? What side would you butt up or is it best to mitre them?
I released a full detailed video on baseboards recently. Check my videos, it'll be there
thanks for this. going to give it a try in the 3 bedrooms.
Awesome! Thanks for watching
You’re so good! You are making me feel like I can do this 😅
Thanks! Of course you can, that's the point! Just remember to measure twice and cut once

I'm looking for the same sharp straight cut look you did. But can I do 3 inch all around and not let it extend beyond?
Sorry for the late response, but absolutely you can. It's just personal preference. Good luck on yours
Great video thanks! Subscribed...
Awesome! Glad I could help
I like It a lot
Thanks!
What size trim did you use on the window, door, and baseboard. It appears the horizontal pieces are wider than the vertical? Thank you.
I said in the video. I personally went 2.5" on anything vertical and 3.5" on horizontal in the whole house
Its a style used in traditional craftsman style bungalows built along the west coast in the US.
Really? Awesome, it's a nice design. I just wanted something different
The material you’re using is it just MDF and you just straight cut it prime and paint the ends?
My apologies I watched to the end of the video you did talk about priming and painting the end.
No problem
How would you install it on concrete walls let me know thanks
Construction adhesive
How do I calibrate my eyeball?
Yours didn't come calibrated?
