I guess to me that wouldn't even count as a go-kart since it didn't have a motor or any method of self propulsion. Go-Karts have motors, that was a soap box derby car AT BEST.

I had this wonderful idea for a US based event similar to the Connect 4 race. It's an electoral race, where each state is worth the number of electoral votes it has, and the goal is to get to 270 first. Completing challenges in the state, or state capital is required to claim the state

that sounds great, but I worry that would just lead to everyone dogpiling cali, texas, ny, etc bc they have so much electoral votes. however, the late game would be very fun since it would just be everyone else scrambling to get to as many states as possible. perhaps each state has its own individual challenge set before the race, with the hardest/most time consuming challenges assigned to the states with more electoral votes, and the smaller states w/ less electoral votes being "claim this state immediately"....
@@jelliefishr2336 maybe also a rule saying they have to get above a certain point threshold before they can even visit any of the bigger states
@jelliefishr I'm no expert on electoral votes but isn't CA, TX, FL, NY still only 160 out of the 270 threshold? My biggest thought would be driving up the eastern seaboard to amass as many votes as possible, but I think it could still be pretty interesting since that also only about 130. Doing state capitals again would be kinda repetitive to connect 4.
You need the top 11 states to get half, I believe.
Did not expect to hurt myself laughing but watching a grown man desperately try to orient the shittiest single vehicle I have ever seen while obviously trying not to scream as a group of concerned Italians (who were not expecting to see anything interesting in the commercial district near the airport) watch on caused me to choke so loudly that my idiot cat got scared and ran into a door.

This is going to be a lot of fun. I love how with there being different strategies for success seeing how each team takes it. You had Ben/Adam doing a pastry mile and throwing up meanwhile Sam/Joseph were chilling in Cancun.
Somehow Sam is always the villain in these series, I can't help but cheer for Ben and Adam!

It seems absurd to say this, but Ben and Adam's abstract Italian knock-off of a go-kart is officially the most beautiful thing I ever seen. And it rides. That is what I call a piece de resistance. Bravo. 👏
*SECRET MESSAGE:* _The go-kart and the piggyback challenge have saved Ben and Adam and now, they're back in the game. Sam and Joseph tried to fly cheap, but unfortunately they lucked out when booking the flights to Dubai. They think that the only way they can win this race is to complete as many challenges as possible, but I doubt them that this is the way to go. If Ben and Adam gets a cheap flight out of Asia, they could be in serious trouble._
_Two episodes in and it looks like both teams are going to cross each other's paths at Singapore, just as they have been with the Connect Four challenge. And it's going to be interesting. This game is far from over._
I hope Ben and Adam win because Sam and Joseph basically have cheated to get the challenges done. It always seems like Sam and Joseph seem to luck out all the time whilst Ben and Adam do a better job of planning but then get fucked over like in the last series they had that car issue which basically costed them the game.

@@randomperson8405 Well they put the time and effort into doing the challenges which is all that really counts.
There's a Mcdonald's at the airport in Milan, Adam and Ben lost a chance to try the Crispy McBacon. That alone would have been worth the trip to Milan. I guess that Brico Center in Busto Arsizio it's all Italy will have to show for now.
One of the rules I think, is you have to be a certain distance from the airport to complete challenges.

I really think the game (season 2 please!) would benefit from some route randomness such that pre-planning a route is made impossible or very difficult. For example when the game actually starts, each team gets one or two cities (with +- equally strong connections/average prices) that must be transited through along the way. Eg. Cologne, Germany and Split, Croatia.
This could be extended to an Asian city, only discovered by the teams upon reaching Europe, that they must go through.
Penalties for failing a challenge could also include another mandatory stop.
Rewards for very difficult challenges (maybe location dependent - eg Pastry Mile in Baku in 12 minutes) could be giving your opposing team another mandatory stop eastwards from where they are (you could have envelopes with longitude ranges/timezones containing a mixed variety of cities).
Or forcing them to miss their next booked flight/take their next flight in business class. This also gives the teams more interaction against each other and more strategic decisions - do you waste time flying to Baku because you’ll be able to screw your rival over?
The teams having some idea of where the others are (perhaps by communicating a longitude range/timezone with a 4 hour lag) would also give the trailing team motivation to take risks to slow the leading team down.
Etc etc.

I like the idea of mandatory stops, like a game based on an itinerary. It would be especially nice if it were things like "You have to stop at the Great Wall of China, and Hadrian's Wall, and the Wailing Wall."

I'm really waiting for "The logistics of running an inter-continental game" ! Particularly how you pull off the money part ; I'm guessing that's where credit cards come in really handy, since you don't know how much you're gonna spend in advance and it's the company footing the bill :-)
Money part shouldn't be too hard (at least the very basic idea).
Everything is a business expense, so definitely business credit cards since it's international traveling. I'd also guess that each team has at least one visa and one mastercard, just in case.
The bigger question is if this channel is part of an existing company, or run on a new and separate company. The latter could maybe give a better opportunity to save some taxes, but I'm really not too sure about that.
Ben and Adam need their own channel. They pretty much make this show.
I’m pretty sure Sam does most of the work setting up these videos though. He literally makes this show.

Sam, one of the conditions for the 5 photos challenge is to gain admission to one of them. You didn't gain admission to any of them, as far as you've shown (I don't suppose entering a park counts as gaining admission).
Does walking through the historic neighborhood count?
I think it only applied if all of the attractions were pay to enter. I have no clue what 'if applicable' meant in this context.
Reading the task, he followed it. It said one photo must be taken in the attraction. A park has free admission.
Also looking at the visual clues in their clip, the attractions looked closed when they visited which might have been too early- look at the clip at the Ann Frank location, there's a long queue at the doors.
Just wait for part 3, you'll forget about this (which btw I think entering the park counts) VERY quickly. Sam stretches the rules of the challenges a lot and I love it. It's just creative enough to say: oh well, it is technically what the card says; and I really hope it stays that way and Ben/Adam adapt that in the future.
Also, the go cart challenge said they needed to go 100 ft. Did they go 100 ft?
This has the chaos of early Amazing Race when people were trying to figure out the actual rules of the game and it's great.

These episodes are great. I watched this last week on Nebula then watched it again here after watching next week's episode on Nebula.
It's unfortunate you guys don't really get to enjoy these beautiful cities you go through since you always have to rush and plan the next step. Maybe in the future, the race can be within specific cities you stay at where you have to get specific tasks done

In Europe it would have been a better strategy to take advantage of fast trains to escape the 300km challenge zone, you guys spent so long in Amsterdam and did like 5 challenges there, but if you'd got a train to rotterdam for example (using the travel budget for the challenge), did a challenge there, then got a train to brussels, another challenge, and then paris, another challenge, and then fly from paris, you'd have made so much more money. That would be completely possible in a day. Also could have used the trains to get to other airports than you arrived at where there may be cheaper flights

Since Sam and Joseph are in europe, I wonder if they considered taking a train to another european city and doing challenges + getting a flight out from there rather than just looking for flights in amsterdam. The skateboard Ben and Adam did was hilarious, I hope they make their flight!
I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking this. Those 90+ minutes on a high speed train could likely have got them to somewhere else with a well-connected airport like Berlin, or a bit longer on a train could have put them at Geneva, Zurich or (hilariously) Milan...

Photo challenge in Amsterdam is good call. So many things are so close. On 1 square "De Dam" you already have 3 things. The Palace, the statue about freedom and Wax Statue museum. Then close by are the Anne Frank museum, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh, red light district and the train station and Vondelpark.
Started watching Season 5 for Toby... Now, I'm only watching this season for Ben and Adam duo. Oh Ben 😋🫠🫠 I want to simply pack him and carry him around 😅
