How is it that Ben and Adam always run across the most insanely helpful people? The Uber driver that became their third teammate, the two pawn shops, and now this random lady on Tinder who thought she met her soulmate, was instead asked to spread disinformation about someone she didn't know, and decided to go along with it. These two are going through life like Pollyanna, but if I tried it I'd end up like Candide (a couple nice timely references there.)
They're just much more charismatic than Sam and Brian I guess
They’re just so nice, they have that charisma that makes you like them.
Because most people are good and helpful. It feels really nice to help others. And they ask nicely and are well spoken. It's not that hard to meet nice people when you are nice yourself.

I don't understand why they didn't take the Grand Canyon card. I understand why they didn't take the helicopter card - they didn't know that Sam and Brian were also in Vegas. But they could easily go to the Grand Canyon anyway!
That would also have been more tense; can S&B cross the state border and eat soup before B&A get to the canyon? Whereas now, there isn't really much suspense; of course S&B's helicopter will cross the state border before B&A can clean up enough trash.
They made a HUGE misplay to not take visit the grand canyon instead of the island card imo
Ben and Adam are also going to Grand Canyon *West* which is tribal land and not part of the National Park Service

I’m convinced that Adam and Ben didn’t just stay in the midwest and grab smaller states because they wanted the game to be more dramatic

I like how sam and brain just like pulled a random grass out of the field, called it a clover, and actually worked.
I'd love to see you do something like this in Japan. They have one of the best public transport systems in the world, so getting around wouldn't be a problem. But seeing you struggle through the language barrier would be very entertaining.
The tag game they did would be a super fun one to do with Japan. But I'm worried it would just mostly be Tokyo since that metro area is so huge.
Plus, Japan has lots of local specialties and customs (special foods for pretty much each prefecture, as well as mascots or festivals, etc...), so a challenge to claim them with local specialties might be very fun.

As someone who has been to Japan, it would suck. There are too many people in the cities and outside the cities that's is almost no public transport whatsoever
@@snakeixirTM Taxis and car rentals are still a thing for such cases. Which brings me back to my earlier point: watching them figure out driving on the left would be very entertaining.
With all the retrospect in the world, I feel more certain than last episode that the area bonus is just not worth it. Ben and Adam probably could have spent this episode in states closer to Michigan racking up numbers while Sam and Brian fought for just 2 states. Blocking Nevada was big but now they are fighting with each other for states while there are a lot of others out there that could be claimed with less travel between. Very fun series! Looking forward to the finale.

Yeah the area bonus is definitely a waste of time. Either group could've easily traveled around the midwest/SE and gotten a ton of states while the other was flying to Claifornia.
Area bonus is incredibly important because it basically claims 3 states which is huge. It also kinda takes two from the other team. It will be the deciding factor I reckon.
Just taking Wisconsin and everything on interstate 75 would be curtains for Sam and Brian.
@@boarbot7829 I disagree! I could certainly be wrong in the end, but even when you factor in the bonus 2 points for Sam and Brian to the score they are still behind overall. If Ben and Adam had just stayed local and picked up two more states around Michigan they could have rendered that bonus even more useless while Sam and Brian spent a lot of the day traveling. Just feels like it would need to offer more than 2 to give a meaningful bonus that makes up for the extra travel.

"I see four leaves" while admiring a picture of what looks to be a very tiny sprig of chickweed (so small that you can't tell that one opposite pair of leaves is probably slightly higher than the other pair) is killing me. I guess it's fair, since both teams agreed, but that Is Not Clover. The other, slightly bigger, plant is dove's-foot geranium. When Sam and Brian were first looking, I'm pretty sure I saw henbit and creeping charlie (also known as ground-ivy). No clovers!
Ordinarily I'd say it's just an unimportant technicality, but I have to say, I admire your botanical expertise.

@@MasterQuestMaster Yeah, kind of! It's possible! Most of the clover in the US is red clover (Trifolium pratense) and white clover (Trifolium repens). Both of these are bigger than what Sam and Brian found, typically around twice that size, and have darker greener, thinner, stiffer leaves. They have little light green 'arrows' on each leaf that point out, away from the stem. They're typically found in big colonies, since they can send up new shoots from the same root system. Red clover has pointier leaves and pink flowers, and white clover has rounder leaves and white flowers. Any clover they might have found probably wouldn't have been in flower (they flower in spring/summer), which makes it a bit harder! An Irish shamrock is quite different (and they wouldn't find it), although it looks a lot like sorrel (which they might find). I was expecting them to find sorrel and think it was clover, so the chickweed and such was surprising to me!

I'm curious if Ben and Adam's attempt at "Cleaning a National Park" is valid as they are heading to Grand Canyon West, which is actually on Hualapai Tribe land, not in the National Park System. I kind of doubt it will matter as it seems like Sam and Brian would get Arizona first via the helicopter method anyway.

@@anthonybanderas9930 Might be scripted but I personally think they're just really good at presenting it so it appears to be close. For example I think they avoid explaining plans that would show one team is easily gonna win and they highlight ideas that make it look like one team can catch up when they're really not that close to pulling it off.
Probably a combination of where the most convenient flights or trains lead to + similar strategies means they're already in close proximity

@@YHDiamond if there was a new episode every week 50 weeks a year, it would get boring quick. There are only so many unique ideas you can have for a game and the games don’t take a month. Probably several days to determine rule sets, a week of shooting, and weeks of editing, but it’s not like wendover is blocking jet lag.
Plus the first episode of Euro Tag got 3M views, on top of the 600k Nebula subscribers

I spent HOURS of my life looking for 4-leaf clovers as a kid, in very clover-dense areas. I can count on one hand the amount of them I found--no way they were going to actually find one.

Personally, I've found and pressed dozens of 4 leaf clovers, but if you want anywhere near good odds of finding one, you need a very dense patch, multiple layers deep

Devastated that Ben and Adam didn’t just stay in the Midwest and keep getting states, area bonus doesn’t matter if you’re more than 2 states ahead and with Chicago as a transportation hub they could’ve gotten so many so easily. Ig it’s probably for the video so that they can have an intense finale with them racing to Alaska but still… Also just sad I didn’t get to see them go to Wisconsin lol
I think they decided to make the game more entertaining. for us as viewers. Even if the show isn't scripted it is still just a show. This isn't the Amazing Race. I would love to see this kind of race being done with regular people and a price at the end. Then you would see people making purely strategic decisions to win and not also to make it more entertaining.

That would come with a high risk of being less entertaining than having the competition. The battle in europe had them all working together although not at the same time and that was really good. I would like to see something similar again
I like the idea of (if not the US) work together to see if they can claim an entire continent in 1 week. Like all of Africa, or Asia or South America since its a bit smaller. I would even allow Central America if they wanted to do that.

Is the helicopter ride across the border considered public transport or why didn´t they have to use a power up? It seems more like a tourist attraction than public transport to me.

This is my favorite Jet Lag episode of all time! This season has been incredibly entertaining. The wild and goofy scenarios along with getting to see so many cool places, and the personalities of everyone, just so fun to watch. Have a feeling this channel is about to blow up even more!

I don't think the Public vote would have mattered. There would be no reason from both sides for the game plan to change, as the strength of the area bonus is really quite immense at that stage of the game, and claiming alaska would have guaranteed Ben and Adam winning regardless

Just watched the last episode (and won’t spoil it) and I loved every second of all the episodes!
The pacing is just right, the suspense is almost unbearable at times and at the end of each episode, I just couldn’t wait for the next. I haven’t had that feeling about a TH-cam series, ever! I got the same feeling I had as a kid, watching linear tv, and having to wait one whole week for the next episode one of of my favourite shows.
It’s almost like I want you to go full circle on that and do live premieres, but I don’t know if that’s a thing you can do over at nebula. :)

Agreed, but there are two running jokes / meta games in this amazing show that are part of its appeal. One, Sam always breaks the spirit of the rules. Two, Ben gets drunk.
