Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught
(dupes clause)
All Pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore rules:
Battle mode is set
No items in battle
(held items ok)
No overleveling
(level determined by next gym or elite four)

Nice use of rock, a very overlooked type and early generations I would think impossible but you prove me wrong. I thought Aerodactyl for Erika but realized you made better choice not knowing omastar gets ice beam and blizzard.

@@JeanVlogDandamme I believe every Pokemon has a spot light somewhere. Its just odd having the fossils where one is clearly superior.
Omastar with shell armor. white herb paired with shell smash into ice beam, surf, ancient power is high def and offense.
Kabutops with choice band and swift swim are good in rain... But I feel I either never use a rain team and when I do it doesn't involve kabutops. X-scissors, night slash all good physical. Waterfall in the rain. Stone edge is nice and powerful. Pretty much all offense and fast in rain.
Cool found this vid in my recommendations. This was the exact challenge I wanted to see.

Rock types are super important in game as teaching tools for understanding type matchups! And Rhyhorn is a really good mon in competitive. I would argue geodude is much much better than aerodactyl in gen 1, its moveset is /rubbish/

Emerald kaizo is a bit unbalanced from what I remember, a nuzlocke would be a pain lol

I've ran crystal kaizo and it was a bit more balanced
If it makes it more fun for you. I would allow all encounters if a)the type isn’t great and b) encounters are limited

I thought you got a fossil in Mt. Moon, or do you mean where the Fossil Revives? Cause I thought it happened in a City like in HGSS... Saffron City? idk but it was one of the big cities of Kanto
You get 1 of 2 fossils in Mt. Moon. You get the old amber in pewter city at the museum, after you can use cut outside of battle, the fossils are revived on cinnabar Island. The "met at" in the pokemon description will say cinnabar island

With all the rules, we would only get 1 fossil but swapping the starter makes a nicer run imo
@@zappokemonchallenges Yes of course, I've seen some who did runs like this but didn't change their starter
It was HGSS Bug Type and they didn't use a (Spinarak,Weedle,Caterpie,Ledyba) as their starter. Out of these it'd be advisable to use Weedle/Caterpie as your starter depending on the version as you can get the opposite soon and also Spinarak/Lebyba depending on the time of day all before Falkner. Then you have Heracross in Azalea Town, Paras in Ilex Forest, Scyther is before Pryce I think, Venonat is after Whitney I think. Yanma & Pineco are Headbutt Trees yeah? Shuckle is gifted to you in Cianwood. So that leaves Pinsir as your Bug Catching Contest Mon. But I think you'd want to have Scyther & Venonat before doing the Bug Catching Contest to garuntee the Pinsir.

Not sure, haven't looked at a bug run of HGSS, I have done a bug run in Emerald and Fire Red
