@@saffroncitytv It REALLY does! I watch a TON of Pokétube, (have been for about 10 years!) and It's really rare I come across such a perfect idea, especially in this sort of category. Major props!
This really is fantastic. For more flavour perhaps the submarine that team aqua/magma stole could be repurposed to take treasure hunters off to the unique dive spot, sort of like boarding the ss aqua

For Phoebe and Glacia, there's really no reason to limit them to exclusively using their type speciality, in gen 1 and 2 and Diamon and Pearl, E4 members regularly used pokemon outside their type speciality as long as they fit their theme . For Phoebe, just simply give her a Chimecho, Phoebe is stated to have grown up on Mt.Pyre ( the elderly couple that guard the orbs are her grandparents ) and Chimecho is exclusive to the summit of Mt.Pyre + Chimes and bells are usually used to ward off evil spirits in many myths across the world , thus Phoebes team could be : Sableye, Shedinja, Banette, Chimecho and Dusclops/Dusknoir thus completely giving her a team with no repeats . Glacia is a bit trickier in the ogs, simply give her a Wailord, plenty of species of Whales live in the arctic and North pole so her having one would fit her type thematically + a water type could throw players who expected to sweep her team with a fire type off guard, so in the remakes her team could be : Froslass, Castform, Wailord, Glalie and Walrein again making sure she has no repeats on her team . In the original games this is a bit trickier tho as Froslass doesn't exist yet, you could simply just give her a repeat Glalie, or maybe give her an Altaria ! Grucia in Scarlet Violet uses one as his ace and it sorta fits because Altarias cloud wings sorta resemble snow ( and Snow usually forms in very high altitudes on Mt peaks, and Altaria IS a flying type) and Altaria could also surprise people who expect to sweep her with a fighting type off guard or maybe give her a Gardevoir ( because she herself wear a fairly large dress ) or maybe give her a Gorebyss whose both elegant AND is a deep sea creature where the temperatures are usually super low, so her team could be : Glalie, Castform, Wailord, Altaria/gardevoir/Groebyss and Walrein
So, personally, I dislike riding Pokemon. I don't like not using my Pokemon to surf on, or fly with, etc. Call me a gen-1-er, but I like the connection having your own team use an HM. It makes me feel like I'm exploring the unknown with my Pokemon, instead of just phoning it in. Therefore, I absolutely love the Skills replacing HMs idea you have. It removes the move slot problem, while keeping the exploration and travel vibe. My Combusken can breakdown those boulders blocking the northern path from Mauville without having to waste a slot on rock smash. Love it!
I'm really glad you like the Skill System idea! I actually really like ride Pokemon, but I think I'd like it better if you could ride your own Pokemon, y'know?
Liking HMs is pure nostalgia bias. Try playing the old games and have to run an HM slave again + half your party having completely useless moves just for the sake of walking around one tree then ask again if HMs were that good. They were discontinued for a good reason.
@@elin111 Well, I didn't say I like HMs. I said I dislike Riding Pokemon and like the connection that HMs provide to your team. I find Riding Pokemon immersion breaking, randomly summoning someone else's pokemon. It feels very hand-holdy. That's why I love the Skill idea. It eliminates the move slot issue, without breaking the immersion of exploration. In my opinion, using your own Pokemon to explore is makes the game an adventure as oppose to a story.
I like that Legends Arceus kept a list of learned moves seperate from your 4 battle moves and think that a Pokemon should be allowed to trigger the field effect of a move without it being in their battle moves. The skill system solves the same problem though and I like it!
First of all, Sir Malo is an absolute King with the incredible spritework he did for the video, each one he did looks fantastic! Crazy how much of a difference it makes to the game world by making even just a few adjustments but he overhauled entire areas to make them seem so fresh and vibrant. The Dive Treasure Hunt is a great idea, since diving itself was a cool idea but simply finding the coloured Shards isn't a good enough reason to actually bother with the mechanic after you're done the Groudon/Kyogre story section that required diving. Your Glacia/Goldmary change makes so much sense. How on earth we DIDN'T have Grass-type representation in a tropical region focused around nature is baffling. Instead they give an E4 member a type found in one tiny section? Hoenn and Ice just doesn't fit at all. Small changes like having numerous boats around the sea sections would do wonders for negating the "too much water" complaint, since it isn't that there's TOO MUCH of it, it's that there isn't really anything there to do for most of it. I mean even reaching Pacifidlog feels incredibly underwhelming after taking on that stretch of ocean just to find very little to engage with. Still blows my mind that they removed the Day/Night cycle introduced with Gen 2, which also seriously hurt FireRed/LeafGreen. Weirdly it made Espeon and Umbreon completely UNOBTAINABLE in Gen 3 since you had no means of connecting to the Gen 2 titles, feeling almost like they're FORCING a Colosseum/XD purchase in order to add those to your Pokédex. (Personally as a kid, this didn't phase me, especially as Colosseum is a highlight of my entire childhood as I adored that game, but still, the scummy practices you notice as you get older really does a number on your perception of your favourite media) A Pokédex time of day project would make for a great video in all honesty, since it's something we didn't even have to consider without there being a day/night cycle. Like the mostly Grass-types such as Roselia/Lotad etc being common during the morning, Dark types being inherently nocturnal, or Volbeat/Illumise only appearing at night because they're easier to spot with them being fireflies and even obscure ones like Slakoth perhaps only appearing for maybe 4-6 hours of each day, to align with them sleeping most of the day however any areas with Vigoroth would be much more abundant due to their Vital Spirit preventing them from sleeping. It'd be a ton of ton of fun to delve into. Gym Leaders and the E4 outside of gyms makes the world feel much more alive, as opposed to NPCs just sort of perpetually existing in one location. It was always nice having interactions outside of the obligatory battles in some later Gens, like most of the Gym Leaders showing up to have your back against Team Plasma near the end of Black and White. There's only so much personality that can be conveyed through a couple lines of dialogue so this is an absolutely fantastic addition. Festivals and Seasons, as someone who adores the Harvest Moon series (or Story of Seasons as they're called now, since the current HM titles are NOT the actual games, but that's a whole tangent for another time haha), would do so much for enriching the game world, as even if you've found yourself getting rather bored, having a big limited time event around the corner would inject so much excitement to a playthrough. And Seasons especially, much like in Black and White could be implemented the same way there, where certain areas were blocked off/made available such as heavy rain flooding a section/even allowing you to surf to new areas or snow blocking certain paths etc to give an incentive to revisit entire Routes for the chance of new encounters or rare items. Once again Sabrina, just a fantastic video. You're getting even better with each upload and I genuinely look forward to each video. Plus you mentioned early on about having numerous hour long videos instead of splitting them up and I couldn't agree more, as the enormous 2/3/4 hour Retrospectives are some of my favourite types of content on TH-cam, especially since they're so easily digestible podcast-style when doing other things. I totally understand that the editing times for those can be absolutely brutal though so if it feels like too much, don't feel bad about having to split them up just to keep the channel's growth on track. Excited for the Orre/Gamecube titles and inevitable visit to Sinnoh! Plus Orre especially could do with a LOT of Region Repairing, as much as I adore those games haha. Also holy hell sorry for the absolutely mammoth-level wall of text, I didn't wanna just throw in a tiny comment for the sake of it and actually show I was genuinely taking in your points haha Can't wait to see what the future holds for you and the channel, you pretty much immediately catapulted yourself to being one of my favourite content creators with the first video of yours I ever watched 🤝
Well thank you so much for all of the very kind words and complements! I really appreciate you taking the time to write a well-thought-out comment with all of your points of interest! I'm so glad you enjoyed the treasure hunt idea, along with Goldmary, the Gym Leader & Elite 4 being out and about in the region, the beautiful maps that my friend, Sir Malo made, amongst all of the other things you mentioned. 😊 It means a lot that you care so much to share your thoughts and feedback on my ideas! I really worked hard on this video, and I'm so proud of how it turned out. Now, if only Hoenn could actually be remade with all of these ideas 😂 anyway, thank you so much for your support, Malevolent Minun!
I'll say this, Goldmary should have a Sceptile instead of a Ludacullo. 2 reasons for this. 1: You didn't want over lap in any of the elite for members, and I would also presume the champion as well sense Wallace has one on he's team too. Reason 2 and the more important one, all of the elite 4 members in ORAS can use Mega Evolution the first time through. Having Sceptile be her mega makes sense with it being the ONLY GRASS IN HOENN that can. Can cheat with Venasaur in both or abomasnow in ORAS, but I feel like Sceptile fits better. It also gives the player hoenn dex no.3 in case they didn't pick the treeko line.
1:30:00 - IDK about RS / ORAS, but you can definitely rematch gym leaders in Emerald. Otherwise, there's so many fantastic ideas in this video. Binged the whole set of Hoenn vids and im a big fan, gonna dig into your older content :D
I adored that idea of another sunken ship available to explore that's only accessible within the depths of Hoenn's underwater map. I'd like to imagine that it is traversible through coral reefs and underwater caves until the player finds a light to gain access to this forgotten mystery. Nobody in the game will be talking about it, until the player discovers a treasure in the ship that finally triggers a hidden dialogue. Maybe one NPC hints of this lost treasure but nobody knows where it is until the player finds it, and then perhaps it unlocks a side-quest too. It's gonna be quite dramatic!
Those are some really interesting ideas! I feel like there's so much potential in a sunken ship, especially for Hoenn! There could be ghost-type Pokemon, spooky music, lore and history, and I really like your idea of people not knowing about the ship until treasure is found! Hoenn seriously has endless potential.
Gym leaders are community leaders and absolutely SHOULD take an active part in their communities. Especially in protecting them from the villainous teams. Roxanne could escort you out of her gym and witness the theft in Rusturboro. Flannery is first introduced fighting at the volcano. Wynona shows up after you save the weather institute. And ALL of them show up in the endgame to help distract Team Aqua/Magma.
I really like the skill system. Personally what I like about HMs is the fact you get to use your own Pokémon instead of being giving someone else's to rent or just having a single Pokémon doing everything.
I agree with both of those ideas! I prefer to use my own Pokemon to get through the region, and I think it could be totally cool to have the battle tents in some cities and towns and contest halls in others. 😊
I think a cool thing for Mt. Pyre would be a bit of a combo of the old and new. The lower levels could be newer looking, but as you ascend more signs of dilapidation become obvious. Basically, the graves began at the top and have been dug deeper over time.
That's a super interesting idea! I would've never thought of that, but that would really improve upon the visual storytelling for sure! I love that idea.
Love the solutions you provided in this video! There's a ROM hack of Yellow and Crystal, called Yellow Legacy and Crystal Legacy respectively. These games fix a lot of the issues in those gens and I think you might enjoy them based on all the feedback you give to the originals. The dev is working on a Gen 3 version that should be out later this year and hope to see a lot of the updates you suggest in it!
Although I have no problem with the "too much water" issue, I love the improvements you proposed regarding the maritime areas. All this would add a perfect plus to the summer feeling of the game!
I was so ready to comment that petalburg definitely needs, you know, petals on the trees and whatnot until I made it to that very last segment. Omg yes! Absolutely! That sounds lovely!
Another idea for Roxanne At the beginning of the game you and her pick a fossil at Devon Co, and whichever you decide to pick she’ll use the other for her team + her ace Nosepass Eg If you picked Anorith, her team would just be Lileep + her ace Nosepass
Pacifilog town should have some type of economy. Probably based around fishing. You could have fishing boats pulled up in docks at the town, with one of the captains you can talk to, who will give you random items he picked up in his fishing nets! Make it like the pickup ability, where these could be anything from Potions and Antidotes, to Rare Candy or Big Pearls!
47:51 the SS Tidal visiting the eastern half sounds awesome, but there's geographical issues with each area: Sootopolis is dive/fly only, no docks Mossdeep has mangroves, implying that the surrounding sea is only a few feet deep, but maybe the eastern side of the island could work, although the space center is there Ever grande island has a waterfall blocking access Pacifidlog is on a reef, bringing in the SS Tidal would destroy the ecosystem unless parked a distance away, but the smaller fishing boats can pass through find
I came across this series a little after this video came out. Its been a fun few days going through these videos! I love gen 3, both kanto and hoenn games so much. And your takes and repairs and rankings have all been great! I espeically love the idea of introducing festivals. It seems so fitting and not overly complex, like it could feel seemlessly added to these games and fit with the game direction
Congrats on getting sponsored! You definitely earned it with the work and quality put into each video. Overhauling Glacia was a brave move, but I think giving yourself that an an emergency option is a good thing going forward.
Well thank you very much! I was really happy to have a sponsor as well 😊 plus, I really like that company. Also, I was kinda worried that people wouldn't like Goldmary, but it seems like people actually do! High risk high reward?
Ooh, I quite like your ideas about incorporating Nolan. Not only does it makes sense from a world-building perspective, but also, because we lack resources in game to teach us about the finer mechanics in the earlier games.
I know right?? I think these mechanics should be explained a little better in the games. Especially EV training and IV breeding, since they aren't hardly mentioned at all.
Another banger video, love it! 💙 When I were at school I used to fantasize about my ideal Pokémon games, exactly in the same way you did with the region repair. Seeing this video felt like me wondering what I would do to Hoenn, while we were waiting for ORAS. I loved your ideas: 1. The Treasure Hunt mechanic is MY FAVOURITE, it looks so fun and satisfying to partecipate in. I can totally see myself hoping to pick up trash in order to get the shiny Luvdisc, it would be amazing! 2. The boats around water routes would be such a nice addition to make those areas feel alive and less boring. Also, a sinked ship must be so fun to explore! 3. Your version of Fallarbor Town looks sick! 4. The skill mechanic for HM replacement is GENIUS! I genuinely think it's the ultimate way to explore the region: no HM required, but you still can use your pokémon. It makes a lot of sense. 5. Daddy Norman being rematchable feels such a genuine thing to do, now I wish that was canon. It perfectly fits the character, makes him more memorable and woul be a perfect side-quest and way to train. 6. Love the festival ideas, all of them! Seriously, those are not necessary in my opinion, since I don't think Hoenn needs them or a season system... But you came up with such brilliant ideas: it's that kind of "unneccessary, but makes a game truly special" stuff. You know what? I'd make them ORAS exclusive. Since most of the version differences were removed (like the Abandoned ship, New Mauville, Mt. Pyre ecc.), there's less layout changes between your ideal RSE and ORAS. Festivals would be a feature that allows ORAS to change the maps providing new content, as a remake should do. 7. I personally accept Glacia having doubles, but grass type would suit her well too, since she's elegant and, if recolored with green, she looks like "Lady" trainer class. I can totally see her with a Roselia by her side. Amazing video as always, you provide amazing content and make the Pokémon community a better place. 💙
Thank you so much for the extremely high praise - I really appreciate that 😊 and I'm really glad you liked all of the ideas that I came up with to repair Hoenn. I used to do the same thing you used to do - I used to imagine in my head what a perfect region would be like, so I think it's super cool that other people are interested in what I have to say. Thank you for taking the time to leave me a very well-thought-out kind comment. 😊
got this vid recommended, cause I'm a sucker for long pkm video essays. gotta say, you didn't dissapoint! hopefully your videos will get the attention they deserve! cheers
Love the idea to revitalize town that end up never being visited again. the activities proposed could be so much fun. And the water part of hoenn seriously needs a revamp. I would even go further than the video, adding different subacuatic biomes (coral reefs, depths, kelp-sea, sand sea floor, hidrothermal vents, open ocean... And have different types of aquatic pokemon depending of the biome, as well as to have snorking trainers to spice things up underwater (maybe incorporated in a pokedex video?). Copying your boat idea, there could be submarines undersea, some with researches, trainers, interesting characters... They could be unlocked after the Kyogre/Groudon fight, to justify why there was only one submarine available in the main story. In sumamry, what a great video. All of your videos are always bangers. Thank you for your work.
Why thank you 😊 I had a lot of help from Sir Malo, but I did make a few of those maps myself. I actually really like creating stuff like that, I'm just not talented to pull it off on a large scale 😅. But I can definitely continue making videos!
For fishing I think it could be cool to have each rod fish at different sea levels. The old rod could only catch mons that you’d find near surface while the super rod could pull deep sea mons like Relicanth with the good rod being of corse in between.
That is a really interesting idea! I've never heard that idea before or even considered something like that! Thanks for sharing your input on the fishing rods, I'm definitely gonna remember that for later. I think that's a really interesting concept!
I know you said you didn't want to touch the pokedex/introduce more species, but I do think it would make for a neat post-game event to have something like a ship crash and release a bunch pokemon species from a different region. You are then tasked with gathering their pokedex information so that a round-up of the invasive species can begin as a tie-in to Hoenn's environmentalism.
I like HM. I dislike the fact that forget them is too hard, but i like the feeling of "beating the obstacles with my Pokémon". Add a move removal in every pokecenter or just make them forgettable, and I would be happy
You reminded me that I had also drawn up teams for the Elite Four. You'll see that I'm fond of expanding type diversity as long as all members can learn moves of the specialist's type. Sydney: Cacturne, Zangoose, Crawdaunt, Shiftry, Absol -We've seen enough of Mightyena and Sharpedo from the villain teams. Zangoose is something he had in the manga and a rarely used Pokemon so I'd like to give it to him. Phoebe: Banettte, Ninetales, Sableye, Bellossom, Dusknoir -Ninetales has always had spiritual associations and it's found on Mt. Pyre. Bellossom because no one uses it and it fits Phoebe's aesthetic. I doesn't learn any Ghost moves? Fuck it, give it Shadow Ball. It can use the coverage! Glacia: Glalie, Lanturn, Froslass, Donphan, Walrein -Don't want to do the usual and fill her up with Water-types but I like the idea of giving her blubbery or deep sea Pokemon since they're also associated with cold. Wailord instead of Froslass in Gen III. Lanturn, Wailord, and Donphan are also rarely or never used by trainers. Donphan also because elephants > mammoths > maybe an allusion to Mamoswine. Drake: Altaria, Huntail, Flygon, Kingdra, Salamence -Gyarados is the standard Dragon specialist filler, and would work great for Drake the sailor man, but it's been used so much already. Huntail of course another never used by trainers and on theme for a sailor. Also thought about adding Seviper and Gorebyss to some of these themes to have the pairs complete. It's crazy that Hoenn doesn't have a Grass specialist!!!
The whole skills idea reminds me of the original Pokemon Ranger game, where you temporarily catch Pokemon that have inherent skills that allow you to bypass obstacles. I always thought that would be the best way to go moving forward with the games.
A lot of these changes sound really neat, I grew up on gen 3 so improving it would be amazing. I did have to laugh a bit at the suggesttion of putting the move deleter on Dewford. That is a softlock just waiting to happen.
Love the festival idea. Though, instead of a bog standard summer beach festival, I think a Tanabata cognate would really hit different. Gussy up Slateport's market to be filled with festival stalls and the like. One stall should sell wish slips, that you can take to some sort of bamboo-y area (I forget if Hoenn naturally has one, otherwise it can be added in somewhere) where you can place a wish upon a bamboo tree. You could wish for financial luck (Trainers drop more money, the game rolls twice at the Lilycove Lotto corner each day and gives you the best result, i.e. statistically increasing your odds of winning), style luck (some sort of benefit when making Pokéblocks and increasing your abilities in contests), and friendship luck (increases the rate at which your Pokémon become friends with you, AND doubles shiny odds - as Gen 3 is the only set of games with no way to improve shiny odds outside of RNG Manipulation). I say this because Jirachi calls this region home, and is entirely themed around Tanabata. Maaaaybe bringing your Channel or Bonus Disc Jirachi to the festival could result in some sort of reward, event, or flavor text too? 😜
I loved all your ideas! I think I would have a different approach with the Elite 4 tho. I've always thought it would be better if their battles were 4 vs 4 double battles. Not only this presents a different challenge and adds another layer of difficulty, but also solves the repeats problem and is very representative of Hoenn as the region of the generation that introduced double and multi battles. Their teams would look like this: Sydney: Mightyena and Absol (leads), and Cacturne & Crawdaunt in the back. This way he doesn't overlap his grass and water types and also doesn't use Archie's ace! Plus double Intimidate by Mightyena can be annoying. Phoebe: Shedinja and Sableye (leads), Dusclops/Dusknoir and Banette. Her leads can be a problem since they are untouchable in certain conditions. Glacia (not Goldmary, haha): Sealeo/Froslass and Castform (leads), Walrein and Glalie. It's all about Hail and hitting hard with Blizzard and Sheer Cold. Drake: Flygon and Salamence (leads), Kingdra and Altaria. This team has such good sinergy with two of them being inmune to Flygon's Earthquakes and also Kingdra hitting both opponents with Surf, it really has a lot of potential. Anyways, loved the video, keep up the good work! And yes, I want to see the video of the Hoenn encounters changed by the day/night cycle.
New subscriber here. I love the level of though, attention to detail, and clear love you have poured into these videos. Stray thoughts from throughout: - Diversifying the water routes is key absolutely. I think you could take it a step further though. Have the routes around Shoal Cave be visibly colder. Maybe the sand tiles become frosty. Maybe the trees become temperate, rocks are icebergs, etc. - Overall the improvements to the water half are bang on. - Really like all of the improvements to the towns. Fits the lore and all make sense. Fallarbor's is particularly impressive to me in how innovative but obvious it feels, and the Sootopolis treasure hunt would be so fun. - I think I land on team swap Phoebe and Brawly. Phoebe might not have much thematic connection to Dewford Island but... Frankly, neither does Brawly. "Dresses for a tropical island" is about as much as "is a surfer" in my view. - Masquerain is... a nice idea but simply too weak for the champion. - Always advocate for more of gym leaders appearing outside of the gym!
Hey! Welcome to the channel! Happy to have ya! Also, thanks for sharing your feedback on my ideas. 😊 I think the routes around Shoal Cave being made to look a little frosty would be a really cool idea! I hadn't even considered that! Also, the Brawly and Phoebe swap does make sense, especially considering that Brawly doesn't exactly have a solid connection to Dewford either - you make a fair point. Also, fair point on Masquerain on the champion team as well. I think it probably would be too weak for the Gen 3 games, but I've seen Masquerain be quite formidable in Gen 6. Either way, I'm sure there was a better option out there, I just thought it fit Wallace aesthetically 😊. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and many of the other changes, and I appreciate all of your feedback!
The problem I now remember with your suggestion for ORAS is that in Slateport the PC gets scouted by the new NPC (Forget her name of the top of my head). Maybe a different suggestion is that in ORAS, the locations for normal and hyper rank contests are swapped. This way, you still have to go to Verdenturf to get a new Pokémon to Master Rank in contests, and we can keep the scout location where it is. And I don’t think moving it to Verdenturf works right either, because of Slateport just being a busier place due to being a port town.
TH-cam actually sent me the notification this time! Dropping a comment now for obligatory algorithm help, gonna edit once I'm finished watching. Can't think of a better way to start the day off 😎
I actually really like the idea of switching Phoebe and Brawly. Phoebe could lead with Shedinja, which could throw new trainers off if they don't have something super effective, but there's enough early game options available (even in the cave on Dewford) that you could come back ready. Since Shedinja relies on a weak gimmick it could be a fun early challenge to strategize around. Even more, the player can also obtain a Shedinja before going to Dewford. Her other two Pokemon would be Duskull and Shuppet as an allusion to her grandparents on Mt. Pyre
@@Mariokemon in gen 2 Morty was the third gym so ghost early on isn't too unprecedented. Plus you'd have access to poochyena, sableye, and shedinja. And a lot of early Pokemon can learn bite at the very least.
I loved the idea of reshuffling the elite 4 and gym leaders like this too, including honestly every suggestion. Phoebe fits better on an island with a spooky darkened cave than in the formal elite 4 chambers. Dare I even say, she should have a Shedinja. As a challenge to encourage trainers to find strategies outside of brute force and overlevelling. And even if we had 3 fighting type elite 4 members in a row...didn't stop them from 3 fire starters with secondary fighting type in a row, and at least Brawly has a niche of being not a martial artist, but more of a fitness gym bro, who is notably difficult and strategic in his place a a gym leader. And the entire concept of Goldmary is wonderful, she's the cottagecore icon who has been somehow absent in the series, in the region of farming fields, flowers, mangroves, and tree house towns. I literally swept her original team with a Breloom with sky uppercut just last night, only at the level of her highest. She has a glaring fighting weakness and imbalanced team in an already struggling type.
This video is great. Another idea I have for special interiors is have that sand tower reappear and have like a 5 floor randomized bike trial with some random reward at the end, like other region fossils. Could also be an event in sky piller doing a similar thing. Would be nice to add acro bike challenges but not sure how.
Amazing video! I would swap Phoebe's 2nd Banette and Dusclops for Chimecho and Ninetales from Mount Pyre. Shedinja is too gimmicky to work. As for Glacia, Castform-Ice is fine. She needs Masquerain and Azumarill for coverage. Those 2 can learn Ice moves. Love the idea of Goldmary. Hoenn introduced Ranger Trainer Class with Grass Types. As for Winona, a team of 5 is busted but I love it. No primary repeats, but her Swablu needed to be Swellow IMO. She has one in RS and its Shiny in the anime. The only upgrade she needed for Emerald was truly Tropius. No trainer in the games owns a Grumpig so I think that May/Brendan should have one as their RSE's 5th and ORAS's 6th.
yoooo I completely forgot about your channel, I'm so glad you're still making these awesome videos! I'm super looking forward to sinnoh, since we have the remakes AND legends now
Hey, just wanted to leave a comment that I stumbled upon your videos on the Hoenn Region review and absolutely LOVED it (quickly consumed the Kanto and Johto ones as well) and was eagerly waiting for the follow up videos ever since! I know how much such long and indepth video reviews take on your end and I just wanna take this oppourtunity to thank you for all your effort and hard work! Kudos!!
I think Glacia should have two Glalie in her team. One would be in the usual top form, and the other has only galvanized boosted self-destruct/explosion. So when she sends out glalie, it's a fifty fifty chance that it will straight up explode.
I think the best option for Glacia would have been to update some of the Pokemon found in the wild. I know Lapras is this almost extinct Pokémon at the time, but it could be cool if there was still a small wild population or Hoenn was being used for a rewilding program. And also add a small icy patches in victory road. To add like swinub or if they can be found on the mirage islands, just add both of those lines to her team and it would be good.
If Fallarbor is made a place where berries grow quickly then it might also make sense to move the berry master there too and find something else for that patch of land by Mt Pyre, maybe like a random ranch or something?
Great video! I really like your ideas. There actually were gym leader rematches in Emerald though and they were a lot of fun! The final rematches would have Pokemon that weren't even available in RSE sometimes and could consist of any of the 386 Pokemon at the time. Like Brawly has a Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan for example. It's another thing I really wish they kept in the remakes. (No I'm not still mad about the Battle Frontier a decade later, nope not at all.)
So excited to see this!! On the note of the long videos. I love them let's me consume them at my own pace. I know it took me like 3 days to finish the region review but it was nice to not wait whenever I wanted more lol Anyway keep up the good work!!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying the long-form content. 😊 I prefer long-form content, myself, and though it takes longer to make, I think the finished products are always well worth it. 😊
16:00 I mean, keep in mind that the puzzle you need to complete in order to even access said caves is located underwater between Pacifidlog and Slateport (and with the currents, you HAVE to pass through Pacifidlog).
I'm pretty sure the Safari zone game is gone from both ORAS and later games is that people just don't like it. It's not really a popular mechanic and GameFreak ended up trying 4 different ways to make it work before giving up. It is a bummer that the game aspect was cut from ORAS though.
I agree a grass type specialists would fit Hoenn a lot but I would have made it the Gym Leader of Fortree City, then the Elite for member instead of Glacia could have been a flying type specialists
🤯🤯🤯 Yeah this is perfect. The love put into this video is crazy. I'm getting sad knowing I can't play this version of Hoenn, but I can always come back and watch this haha
I LOVE the treasure hunt!! When you mentioned a secret prize though my mind immediately thought of Relicanth odds! Maybe something as simple as the first area you find an item in during the hunt has boosted odds of spawning a Relicanth that day ?
Idk why, but i was listening to this while i edit my own rom hack of emerald and test it and i randomly realized something very late im sure but all these berries are just real fruit scrambled, or references to real fruit like enigma berries specifically I think are miracle berries, and i never noticed. Leppa - apple Rawst - Straw Pecha - Peach Lum - Mul(berry) Nanab - Banan(a) Oran - Orange i believe Sitrus - Any sitrus fruit ig lol Mago - Ma(n)go Cheri - Cherry lol Chesto - Chest(nut) Aspear - Pear i think Aguav - Guava Ipapa - Papaya Bluk - Blueberry perhaps Wepear - pear again? Pinap - Pineapple Qualot - Loquat Hondew - Honeydew Melon Grepa - Grape i think Tamato - yep Rabuta - rubarb or rutabega? Nomel - melon Wiki - kiwi Persim - persimmon Starf - starfruit Watmel - watermelon Durin - durian Belue - blue lol Apicot - Apricot Pomeg - pomegranute Razz - raspberry Figy - fig Idk about Magost - mangosteen? Salac - just salac fruit? Petaya - help me Lansat - just lansat right? Ganlon - Longan right? Enigma - miracle berries i think Liechi - idk ( edit, it's lychee) Pamtre - idk Corrn - idk Kelpsy - idk Im almost certain everyone else noticed this WAAAAAAAAY before i did am i wrong?
I think Magost is mangosteen for sure. Salac is based on cactus fruit (or prickly pear - if you've never had prickly pear, you should absolutely try it someday). Petaya is based on dragon fruit (or pitaya - never heard it been called that before). Lansat is based on langsat (according to Google), I think you're right about Ganlon. No idea about Enigma, so I think you're probably right on that one. Leichi - you're right, it's lychee. Pamtre is based on a palm nut. Corrn is based on corn. And Kelpsey is based on kelp! 😊
For the water routes add in some lore, perhaps around Kyogre seeing as it represents the ocean. NPCs likes Steven or Team Aqua would be ideal for this as well, learning how the peoples of Ancient Hoenn viewed Kyogre and maybe even using this for where Archie learns about the Red Orb from. Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea introduced an ancient culture called The People of the Water and Episode Delta introduces the Draconids, a culture that now survives through Zinnia, so a water culture that’s not been active for a long time fits in. Heck, add in a Groudon group to round things out and we’ve got an idea of Hoenn’s past.
That is a really good idea..I'm always down for more history and lore in these games. I think people would've really appreciated the older culture of Hoenn and the legends and tales. I wonder if we will get an expansion on that with like a Hoenn-based Legends Game. 🤔
Holy heck I missed this getting uploaded! Also yay got my comment featured! Also also... I've since learned that is very much not common knowledge about the bikes, which makes me feel a lot better about only learning it in my mid 20s... And hopefully it helps others enjoy Hoenn more :D
Well if it makes you feel better, I didn't know about the bikes until your comment! So, thank you for always sharing your input, and I hope you enjoyed the video 😊
This ideas are really good, I hope they'll exist in future generations.. It'll bring life and thought to the game/world I'd wanna play a game that feature things like these, as a kid & adult! ^^
Hey Sabrina! I can finally discover all your wonderful ideas! Having helped you a bit on this one, I thought I'd have a good overview, but damn you have so many amazing ideas! If only I had had more time to help you on those as well ; like for Johto, I almost want to start a fangame with everything you detailed on your video to make for the perfect Hoenn game! I especially love your take on Skills: it's a great way to keep the natural obstacles, while having YOUR Pokémon being helpful. To me it's the perfect way to improve the HM system. Obviously, all your propositions about encounters would make the game much more diverse, and I'd lie if I said I wouldn't like a video about a totally revamped Dex...! Same goes for lore and special trainers. Having Norman teaching you battle technics is so clever, and having Glacia replaced by a Grass Champion totally makes sense. And don't get me started on day/night, seasons and festivals... You already know how hyped I was when you talked to me about that!! I'm really looking forward to hearing all your ideas again and hope I'll have a chance to work with you again, I haven't had so much fun creating stuff for a while!
Hey! Why thank you for all the compliments on my ideas! I think you and I collaborating together on the seasons and your beautifully crafted maps really took this video to the next level! I loved the way that this one turned out, and I think you knocked those maps out of the park! Thank you again for all of your help, and I can't wait to collaborate with you again on the next one! 😊
When it comes to the water type encounters, I'd make Magikarp encounter-able in the areas near civilisation while Carvanha replaces it out in the open water. The idea being Magikarp are scared off by the rougue fishy's. I agree with the Birds being able to fly out in the oceans, the Huntail & Gorebyss changes & the changes to the whale duo. For Pacifidlog, I'd make it a more unique Pokemon encoutnerable area, giving them Chinchou, Corsola, Staryu, Lombre, & Luvdisc, just to add to its presige as a location to visit. The route behind Mossdeep, I'd make a more chilly area & expand the shoal cave. Making Spheal, Sealeo & Snorunt more easily avaliable. Finally, Whiscash would be visible encounters when diving, only a couple a day & changing locations but they'd be like the Lapras in Union cave from Johto.
In ORAS the gymleaders actually can be found around the region after you beat the game, Flannery is in scorched slab and Roxanne is in the fossil maniac's house bribing him with a badge lol you can't rematch them unfortunately but it's nice to see gymleaders outside of the gym
This is pretty good overview on what you'd like to see changed. Plus there are many clever ideas like your additions to the water routes and cities/towns with little to no content. The underwater treasure hunt and adding various boats in the water routes definitely would make things more lively. 1:21:07 Huh, so now you're finally deciding to come up with your own trainer OC (a grass type specialist fits Hoenn very well) for one of these region repair videos. Although I did point out the idea on your Johto repair video considering there's still the unknowing plothole left unfilled on who will take over Misty's gym when she replaces Bruno as an Indigo E4 member for your version of the Johto events. I'd still keep Glacia for my version as maybe I'd probably just want to expand the Hoenn dex a bit to make it work, as well as keep Phoebe as an E4 member, but I can see why you wanted to replace Glacia. XD For Wattson, I'd probably replace the repeat Elektrike and the Voltorb with Plusle and Minun, two other Hoenn electric types. *My Take on Third Gym: Wattson* Manectric Level: 24 Ability: Static Held Item: Sitrus Berry - Thunder Wave - Howl - Quick Attack - Shock Wave Magneton Level: 22 Ability: Magnet Pull - Shock Wave - Supersonic (To be annoying XD) - SonicBoom - Thunder Wave (Also to be more annoying XD) Minun Level: 20 Ability: Minus - Quick Attack - Shock Wave - Light Screen (To be more tactiful against those that don't have a physical ground move and want to brute with neutral special attacks) - Encore Plusle Level: 20 Ability: Plus Quick Attack Shock Wave Encore Fake Tears As for Flannery...I'd probably keep her Emerald Team (even if Camerupt is below it's evo level, then again so is Maxie's) but I'd probs replace the repeat Numel with either Vulpix/Ninetales or Combusken XD *My Take on Fourth Gym: Flannery* Torkoal Level: 29 Ability: White Smoke Held Item: White Herb (Still keeping the brutal White Herb Overheat strat XD) - Attract - Sunny Day - Body Slam - Overheat Combusken Level: 27 Ability: Blaze - Double Kick - Aerial Ace - Overheat - Bulk Up (Yeah, watch out and try not to let this fried chicken set up too many of these XD) Magcargo Level: 25 Ability: Flame Body - Yawn - Overheat - Rock Slide - Light Screen Camerupt Level: 25 Ability: Oblivious - Overheat - Magnitude - Sunny Day - Take Down 1:31:07 Also, I wonder if Flannery would...react strongly and get pi___ed if you were to play as the male character if you casually walk in her...y'know...and you immediately black out (read: You literally get kicked out and knocked out cold) and find yourself back inside the pokecenter. XD Another change I'd probably make is actually give Castform a Rock Type SANDSTORM form. Not to mention make *Vol*beat and Illumise dual Bug/Electric (Hilariously, I first mistaken Volbeat as a Bug/Electric type and wanted it on my team when I first played Ruby...until I took a closer look at the information XD) instead of pure Bug. As I brought up in another comment in your Hoenn Region Review vid, I'd also probably make Pyramid King Brandon from the Battle Frontier a bit more integral in the Regi sidequest...as he is an explorer and this does foreshadow him eventually using the Regis himself. (In the Gold Symbol Battle in my version) I'd also actually Rock Tomb 60 base power and 95% accurate like in Gen 6 onwards. 80% accuracy and 50 base power is REALLY not worth the speed drop, it's worse than Rock Throw (at least it's 90% accurate instead of a painful 80%) for crying out loud. I can see why Scott's Thoughts absolutely HATES this move in his Emerald solo runs. (*If it's not 100% accurate, you're basically using Dynamic Punch.* A 50% accurate move) This is painfully underwhelming introduction for Gen 3's new rock type move. (Although tbf, it could've been as bad as Gen 2, which has a introduced a crap ton of awful moves and learnsets for the Pokemon) XD Oh and if this was Gen 3, just like my comment on your Johto repair vid, I'd make all Dark Types physical and all Ghost Type damaging moves special...because seriously, there are even MORE new Dark Type Pokemon in Hoenn that are better physical attackers than special attackers. The only issue is that this would probably make Shedinja worse (Banette and Dusclops respective attacking stats aren't THAT far off from one another) since it's also better physical than special...ah well, can't all be winners. At least physical/special split exists in Gen 6. XD
I really appreciate you taking the time to leave me such a well-thought-out comment. 😊 I personally love your teams for Wattson and Flannery as well. I honestly didn't consider that it may be a little inappropriate for male players to attempt to speak with Flannery while she's in the hot springs 😅 whoops! I also really like all of your other ideas as well, like to Castform and Rock Tomb. As far as Misty is concerned, I'd have to think about it a bit, but I'd probably need to create another Original Character to replace her at her gym. Anyway, thank you for sharing your thoughts and opinions! I appreciate you taking the time to express them. 😊
@@saffroncitytv You're right! And good luck with your potential second Pokemon Trainer OC! Huh, I do wonder if it's possible you might end up making a video covering your Pokemon Trainer OCs if you were to end up coming up with enough of them....even if they'd mostly be tied to your Pokemon Region Repairs videos, which might as well be your personal Pokemon AUs to an extent lol. XD
Right off the bat, I think you've missed the point of Oldale Town. You are correct that there's nothing to do there, BUT THAT'S THE POINT! You start in a place with "Little" in its name, to show how we all start from humble beginnings. No matter how lucky you were with where/when you were born, we all start knowing nothing, and that's represented in the simplicity of Littleroot. Then when you go to Oldale, you see what happens at the end of a life-well-lived; people want to find a nice, quiet place in the woods. Peaceful, simple living, with little to no reason for outsiders to pass through. Hoenn as a whole is about the balance of nature. Littleroot is the start of a life The whole of the region is the middle of life And Oldale is the end And it's right next to the start Showing a cycle of simple beginnings, moving into a harmonious existence with nature, and finally ending back with simplicity again
For the SS Tidal I thought that you could make it the only way to travel to and from the battle tower, battle frontier, and battle resort. You could explain it by saying “This island is too far for your Pokémon to fly.” You could also give the player an option to walk around the boat or “stay in the cabin” as the fast travel / skippable option. You could even incentivize the player to hang out on the boat and explore by having special NPCs visit during certain days of the week. People like shopkeepers and trainers. Maybe someone sells stat vitamins at a discounted price to make EV training easier. Maybe the IV checker visits every Tuesday. The NPCs I think would have to be related to the competitive battling that’s done on the island as that’s the main strategy to completing those facilities.
great video! I'd love to play this improved version of hoenn. I can attest that the diversified water encounters would make a huge difference - I played an emerald romhack that was just qol improvements, one of which included better water encounters, and it made the second part of the game way better. as a certified Wallace Liker thanks for not forgetting about him!! Personally I think his b2w2 pwt team would be a good contender for a champion team, and perfectly legal in rse (milotic, sharpedo, walrein, ludicolo, swampert, starmie) - though the electric/grass weakness would still be Rough lol.
I think contests should've been an alternative to badges, only not required to beat the game. it would mirror the anime in a way, not directly, but it would give you two goals. You could have a team for contests like you would regularly, only rules of contests are different. You have the appeals round, but also a battle round, but instead of choosing moves based on type effectiveness, you choose a move based on what gives you most appeal that turn, it then becomes a game of who can gain the most appeal of the audience by the time they KO another. It would incentivize players to use Pokemon otherwise inept in battle like Delcatty or Luvdisc, two Pokemon made for contest. It could even justify your rival's weak team, perhaps they start out Pokemon training only to end with a goal of contests and research. Your contest team could have their own ways to level up Mons or deposit them while you still with main team and you collect ribbons the same you do badges. The reward for collecting all could be up to imagination, but that's my own spin on them.
That is such an interesting idea! 😊 See, I would've never thought of that, but that really would help to integrate the contests into the region a little better! Thanks for sharing your input, I think that's such a cool idea.
I think the biggest problem with Hoenn is that there wasn’t enough water. The Pokémon community needs to come together and riot if Gen 10 isn’t a full underwater region.
Soaring the much cooler way to use fly that wouldn’t make a comeback until scarlet and violet’s indigo disk dlc. I found my first shiny pokemon using that mechanic it was a shiny murkrow (I started with actual gen 3, I am not very lucky).
I agree about soaring. I absolutely love that mechanic. And I'm sorry you haven't found a shiny until recently, but I'm glad you actually found one! And what a cool Pokemon to have a shiny!
i loved this video but i had one thing i didn’t agree with. the trendy phrase in dewford. the town is a town in the middle of the ocean and only mr briney knows how to get there. when someone new who is from the main land of hoenn gets to the town the kids would be eager to talk them hence why the kid is the person who asks what the phrase is. this is why you wouldn’t see your phrase any where else because if you make it trendy in dewford it wouldn’t be trendy any where else because no one goes there and no one leaves there.
The underwater treasure hunting idea was GENIUS! I absolutely adore the "if you only bring back trash" reward!!
Why thank you! 😊 I thought the idea fit Hoenn so perfectly!
@@saffroncitytv It REALLY does! I watch a TON of Pokétube, (have been for about 10 years!) and It's really rare I come across such a perfect idea, especially in this sort of category. Major props!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 thank you Sabrina for putting this out so quick!! Can’t wait to grab a snack for this one 🍿

(Personally as a kid, this didn't phase me, especially as Colosseum is a highlight of my entire childhood as I adored that game, but still, the scummy practices you notice as you get older really does a number on your perception of your favourite media)
A Pokédex time of day project would make for a great video in all honesty, since it's something we didn't even have to consider without there being a day/night cycle.
Also holy hell sorry for the absolutely mammoth-level wall of text, I didn't wanna just throw in a tiny comment for the sake of it and actually show I was genuinely taking in your points haha
Can't wait to see what the future holds for you and the channel, you pretty much immediately catapulted yourself to being one of my favourite content creators with the first video of yours I ever watched 🤝
You could get Umbreon/Espeon in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald since they kept time of day.
I love this idea
I really like the skill system. Personally what I like about HMs is the fact you get to use your own Pokémon instead of being giving someone else's to rent or just having a single Pokémon doing everything.
Also why not just have some towns have contest halls and some have battle tents? That way it shows how the towns like to present Pokémon in the area.
Well thank you! I agree - I don't have an issue with half of the map being water, just the lack of things to do in that half of the map 😊
I was so ready to comment that petalburg definitely needs, you know, petals on the trees and whatnot until I made it to that very last segment.
Omg yes! Absolutely! That sounds lovely!
Haha right? Petalburg definitely needs a little more love 😊
Another idea for Roxanne
At the beginning of the game you and her pick a fossil at Devon Co, and whichever you decide to pick she’ll use the other for her team + her ace Nosepass
Eg If you picked Anorith, her team would just be Lileep + her ace Nosepass
Loving the berry farms and treasure hunt ideas!
47:51 the SS Tidal visiting the eastern half sounds awesome, but there's geographical issues with each area:
Sootopolis is dive/fly only, no docks
Mossdeep has mangroves, implying that the surrounding sea is only a few feet deep, but maybe the eastern side of the island could work, although the space center is there
Ever grande island has a waterfall blocking access
Pacifidlog is on a reef, bringing in the SS Tidal would destroy the ecosystem unless parked a distance away, but the smaller fishing boats can pass through find
If you're asking if I'd like more content, the answer is, "yes".
You got it 🤘😉
I agree. I can't wait to see her react to Smith Plays -, Emerald Legacy
Well thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the festival idea! 😊
I would love Route 120 east of Fortree to have permanent Sunny Day weather as a counterpart to Route 119's rain.
Oooh! That's a fantastic idea! Same for the peak of Mt. Chimney!
I loved your ideas:
This is movie length of content, you need popcorn for this
Heck yeah! Plus some movie snacks and comfy spot on the couch 😊
got this vid recommended, cause I'm a sucker for long pkm video essays. gotta say, you didn't dissapoint! hopefully your videos will get the attention they deserve! cheers
Well thank you! I also really like long form content! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. 😊
Fantastic ideas, Sabrina. And Sir Malo did a wonderful job with the maps 😊
He really did! And he was such an awesome help, too.
It is my honor to have your support and kind words, truly. Thank you so much for watching and I love your ideas!
Love the region repair videos!! Such a great niche for your channel identity, good call :)
Thank you! I really appreciate that 😊
Also, yes, I would very much like a video going over encounter changes based on the time of day!
Sweet! Seems like people really want to see that video 😊
Fixing all of Gen 3 Pokemon designs, world map and mechanics sure is dedication. Respect 👍
Why thank you 😊 I had a lot of help from Sir Malo, but I did make a few of those maps myself. I actually really like creating stuff like that, I'm just not talented to pull it off on a large scale 😅. But I can definitely continue making videos!
@@saffroncitytv That's wonderful to hear! I will personally cheer you on from the sideline and cross my fingers in hopes that all will be well 🤞🤗
It was just yesterday that I thought that the Hoenn Repair Vídeo was probably coming soon, but not this soon. I'm very happy regardless.
You must be psychic! 😊 Thanks for keeping my channel and my videos in mind. 😊
I'm so Glad i'm not the only one who thought of a Skill HM Mechanic xD It just feels right
Thanks Sabrina for making Hoenn great again ^.^ 🎉 Also is glad i could help a little bit too 😸
Thank YOU, Silktouch, for sharing your input and helping make this video awesome! 😊 And thank you for all of your support 😊
A Harvest-Moon-style Pokemon game would be AMAZING! I didn't even know I needed this! AHHHH!
I'd love to see that Hoenn Pokedex video, but that'll be a lot of work. Maybe after all the Region Reviews.
Well, I think it's definitely worth doing 😊 it certainly would be a lot of work though. But I still think it would be a fun project.
Sydney: Cacturne, Zangoose, Crawdaunt, Shiftry, Absol
-We've seen enough of Mightyena and Sharpedo from the villain teams. Zangoose is something he had in the manga and a rarely used Pokemon so I'd like to give it to him.
Phoebe: Banettte, Ninetales, Sableye, Bellossom, Dusknoir
-Ninetales has always had spiritual associations and it's found on Mt. Pyre. Bellossom because no one uses it and it fits Phoebe's aesthetic. I doesn't learn any Ghost moves? Fuck it, give it Shadow Ball. It can use the coverage!
Glacia: Glalie, Lanturn, Froslass, Donphan, Walrein
-Don't want to do the usual and fill her up with Water-types but I like the idea of giving her blubbery or deep sea Pokemon since they're also associated with cold. Wailord instead of Froslass in Gen III. Lanturn, Wailord, and Donphan are also rarely or never used by trainers. Donphan also because elephants > mammoths > maybe an allusion to Mamoswine.
Drake: Altaria, Huntail, Flygon, Kingdra, Salamence
-Gyarados is the standard Dragon specialist filler, and would work great for Drake the sailor man, but it's been used so much already.
That's kinda cool! I'll be honest, I never got to play the Ranger games, but I should probably check them out. 😊
A lot of these changes sound really neat, I grew up on gen 3 so improving it would be amazing.
I did have to laugh a bit at the suggesttion of putting the move deleter on Dewford. That is a softlock just waiting to happen.
finally got to watch this properly and you have such great ideas!!! and you are so pretty!
Well thank you so much! 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Great video ! I'm a fan of the water related ideas and the use of the dad as a teacher
Awesome! Well I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and I only wish we could actually have these experiences in the games.
Their teams would look like this:
Sydney: Mightyena and Absol (leads), and Cacturne & Crawdaunt in the back.
Stray thoughts from throughout:
- Diversifying the water routes is key absolutely.
@@saffroncitytv MEGA Masquerain I think is the answer! Looking forward to your videos going forward ♥
Can't think of a better way to start the day off 😎
Whoop whoop! Thank you so much for helping with the algorithm!
Excitement!!! I love the region repairs. This is my favorite region
Awesome! Well I really hoped you enjoyed the repairs I've made to the region. 😊
You can actually rematch the Gym Leaders in Emerald in Double Battles via the Match Call feature of the Pokenav.
The treasure hunt idea sounds like a great idea
Why thank ya kindly! 😊
Pyre
This is actually a really good idea! I really like the idea of her using a Shedinja for the early game. You've given me more to think about!
i think ghost that early on is too op. since u still mostly have normal moves at that point, with maybe 2 stab moves
@@Mariokemon in gen 2 Morty was the third gym so ghost early on isn't too unprecedented. Plus you'd have access to poochyena, sableye, and shedinja. And a lot of early Pokemon can learn bite at the very least.
@@BorealDrizzle morty was the 4th gym. midgame, with more than half the region open to you
I loved the idea of reshuffling the elite 4 and gym leaders like this too, including honestly every suggestion.
Personally, i like the longer vids. I'm an OTR driver, and a 4+ hour video makes a 4+ hour drive much more bearable.
Same! I'm also a fan of long-form content!
I'm excited to listen to this while I work tomorrow, that's almost 1/4 of my workday where I will be fully entertained! ❤
Heck yeah! I also like listening to long form content while I work!
yoooo I completely forgot about your channel, I'm so glad you're still making these awesome videos! I'm super looking forward to sinnoh, since we have the remakes AND legends now
Well I'm glad to be back on your algorithm 😊 I'm also super excited to cover Sinnoh. Such a fantastic region! And I love Hisui as well!
Great video! I kinda like the idea of Pokedex repair series
Thank you! Also, good to know! If enough people ask for it, I'll definitely make a video like that.
Kudos!!
Well thank you so much! I'm really glad you're enjoying the content! It sure takes a while to make, but it's so worth it in the end. 😊
That's actually not a bad idea. 😊 I kinda like the idea of moving the berry master to Fallarbor.
I've rewatched this a second time. Gamefreak should be watching your videos for good ideas haha
Everytime I see a new content from Sabrina I get so excited!! I love the detail and passion put into every video!!!
Aww! Well good! I'm glad I can provide quality entertainment 😊 thanks for sticking around and always checking into my new videos, I appreciate ya!
So excited to see this!! On the note of the long videos. I love them let's me consume them at my own pace. I know it took me like 3 days to finish the region review but it was nice to not wait whenever I wanted more lol
Anyway keep up the good work!!
This is true 🤔
I'm pretty sure the Safari zone game is gone from both ORAS and later games is that people just don't like it. It's not really a popular mechanic and GameFreak ended up trying 4 different ways to make it work before giving up.
It is a bummer that the game aspect was cut from ORAS though.
How have I not come across this channel til now? Awesome stuff.
Thank you so much, I am truly stoked you loved it!!
I LOVE the treasure hunt!! When you mentioned a secret prize though my mind immediately thought of Relicanth odds!
Maybe something as simple as the first area you find an item in during the hunt has boosted odds of spawning a Relicanth that day ?
Thank you so much, I am so happy you enjoyed it! I think that could be a fun way to add to the hunt!
Idk why, but i was listening to this while i edit my own rom hack of emerald and test it and i randomly realized something very late im sure but all these berries are just real fruit scrambled, or references to real fruit like enigma berries specifically I think are miracle berries, and i never noticed.

Persim - persimmon
Starf - starfruit
Watmel - watermelon
Durin - durian
Belue - blue lol
Apicot - Apricot
Pomeg - pomegranute

Magost - mangosteen?
Salac - just salac fruit?

Lansat - just lansat right?
Ganlon - Longan right?
Enigma - miracle berries i think
Liechi - idk ( edit, it's lychee)
Pamtre - idk
Corrn - idk
Kelpsy - idk
Im almost certain everyone else noticed this WAAAAAAAAY before i did am i wrong?
I think Magost is mangosteen for sure. Salac is based on cactus fruit (or prickly pear - if you've never had prickly pear, you should absolutely try it someday). Petaya is based on dragon fruit (or pitaya - never heard it been called that before). Lansat is based on langsat (according to Google), I think you're right about Ganlon. No idea about Enigma, so I think you're probably right on that one. Leichi - you're right, it's lychee. Pamtre is based on a palm nut. Corrn is based on corn. And Kelpsey is based on kelp! 😊
@@saffroncitytv Ohhhhhhh all of those make sense! And I think my head was stuck in the realm of fruit 😅
for Phoebe, an idea could be that she has one of the non-ghost types found on mt pyre. either chimecho or ninetales. im leaning more to the later
I also kinda like Ninetales for Phoebe. That's a really good idea!
Ooooo I peep a sponsor! Good job Sabrina!! Keep up the amazing work
Aw, shucks! Thank you so much!
Your room looks super cozy
Why thank you! 😊
This ideas are really good, I hope they'll exist in future generations.. It'll bring life and thought to the game/world
I'd wanna play a game that feature things like these, as a kid & adult!
I completely agree with you about Steven Stone, I was so happy ORAS kept him Champion and the Anime eventually made him into the Hoenn Champion.
oh
her name is sabrina and the channel is saffron city tv - sabrina is the gym leader
i have no idea how i missed that
When it comes to the water type encounters, I'd make Magikarp encounter-able in the areas near civilisation while Carvanha replaces it out in the open water.
XD
For Wattson, I'd probably replace the repeat Elektrike and the Voltorb with Plusle and Minun, two other Hoenn electric types.
*My Take on Third Gym: Wattson*
Manectric

Ability: Plus
Quick Attack
Shock Wave
Encore
Fake Tears
As for Flannery...I'd probably keep her Emerald Team (even if Camerupt is below it's evo level, then again so is Maxie's) but I'd probs replace the repeat Numel with either Vulpix/Ninetales or Combusken XD
*My Take on Fourth Gym: Flannery*
Torkoal

1:31:07 Also, I wonder if Flannery would...react strongly and get pi___ed if you were to play as the male character if you casually walk in her...y'know...and you immediately black out (read: You literally get kicked out and knocked out cold) and find yourself back inside the pokecenter. XD
Another change I'd probably make is actually give Castform a Rock Type SANDSTORM form.
(In the Gold Symbol Battle in my version)
I'd also actually Rock Tomb 60 base power and 95% accurate like in Gen 6 onwards. (Although tbf, it could've been as bad as Gen 2, which has a introduced a crap ton of awful moves and learnsets for the Pokemon) XD
Oh and if this was Gen 3, just like my comment on your Johto repair vid, I'd make all Dark Types physical and all Ghost Type damaging moves special...because seriously, there are even MORE new Dark Type Pokemon in Hoenn that are better physical attackers than special attackers. The only issue is that this would probably make Shedinja worse (Banette and Dusclops respective attacking stats aren't THAT far off from one another) since it's also better physical than special...ah well, can't all be winners. At least physical/special split exists in Gen 6. XD
one of Misty's sisters from the anime could be the replacement. or this could be where lorelei is now.
XD
It could be cool if starmie was only available in mossdeep city/ near it because of the space connection
I honestly would LOVE to see a discussion around changing the pokedex!!!!
9:20 To be fair, in every Pokémon game, you become an absentee child to your mom back home.
I couldn't agree more my friend!
Something about Steven Steel in Fourtree just standing there sticking out like a sore thumb really gets me to do a spit take everytime
Littleroot is the start of a life
The whole of the region is the middle of life
And Oldale is the end
And it's right next to the start
Showing a cycle of simple beginnings, moving into a harmonious existence with nature, and finally ending back with simplicity again
Thanks for sharing your insights. This is something I hadn't really considered 😊
Great ideas to make Hoenn even better.
Why thank ya! 😊
great video!
Everyone is kungfu fighting literally floored me 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤘
1:29:59 IIRC, you can rematch Gym Leaders multiple times in Pokémon Emerald via the Match Call feature.
Your long form content energizes me with life
Your love and comment mean more to me than I can describe. I am so happy you are enjoying it!
The wait is over finally can’t wait to see it all
😎🤘
i loved this video but i had one thing i didn’t agree with. the trendy phrase in dewford. the town is a town in the middle of the ocean and only mr briney knows how to get there. when someone new who is from the main land of hoenn gets to the town the kids would be eager to talk them hence why the kid is the person who asks what the phrase is. this is why you wouldn’t see your phrase any where else because if you make it trendy in dewford it wouldn’t be trendy any where else because no one goes there and no one leaves there.
That's a fair point. 😊 Thank you for sharing your perspective.
