I built a monster Sport for Snow ❄ Crawling, after watching the traxx guys running brushless systems. When they get stuck, I can tow them out.

Anything that floats on the snow works. 2.2 tires would also be a usable choice. And yes, even Traxx do get stuck! 😢

@@rcstories_ca I built one that floats on water 💧, because I wanted it to be unstoppable 😈

@@rcstories_ca Everyone I was crawling with was running the castle creations 3800KV systems. And some of them ran 4S, they was crazy fast and performed pretty well. I am able to run the 2.6 JConcepts Renegades and if the Snow gets a little crazy, I can run the Traxxas 3.8" canyon trail a.t. Tires. Then it becomes unstoppable.

Does the hobbywing esc compatible with the traxxas BEC?

Technically you could keep the Traxxas BEC installed (it needs a JST power source from the battery), but I don’t know why you would. The HW Fusion Pro BEC is 6A and the Traxxas 2262 BEC is 3A (according to everything I have read). Also the HW BEC can output 6V or 7.4V, but the Traxxas BEC is only 6V.
Also, if you look at the install diagram for the Traxxas BEC, you will see that it takes over the duty of powering the receiver, and anything attached to the receiver, from the ESC BEC. I don’t know why you would want that instead of the higher amperage HW BEC.

Do you ever worry about rust? I took mine to the beach twice, and it's got rust on the links, and screwheads.

Yes, I do worry about rust, but I am quite diligent with my cleaning regime. I don't live around salt water, so that helps. I do try to avoid driving on/across roads after they have laid down any sand/salt. I replace screws with stainless steel as I go (if I work on something, like the transmission, I swap the screws as I reassemble). SS might not look as scale, but I like rust less. I occasionally touch up scratches on my chassis' (and TRX-4 links) with a black paint pen.
For cleaning, I carry a 2" wide stiff paint brush in my backpack for getting off dust, sand, snow, or mud at the trailhead. As soon as I get home I rinse the truck under a light shower in my laundry sink, spray it with a mild cleaner (Simple Green), and rinse it again. All my electronics are waterproof but I avoid dousing them with water as much as possible anyway. Then I blow the truck off with compressed air in the garage (I use a compressor and air gun at about 40psi, and I haven't had any problems). Then I’ll spray most of the chassis and wheels with WD40 to get moisture out of the hidden areas, and then blow the WD40 with compressed air as well to speed up drying. I have a boot tray in the laundry room where I dry the truck overnight. Sometimes I do this routine after every drive! Takes about 10 minutes, but I almost never get rust, and the WD40 doesn’t doesn't accumulate dirt either (if It feels greasy afterward, then I know I didn’t dry it enough and just wipe it with a shop towel).
After this video shoot, I just brushed the Sport with the paint brush to get most of the snow off and set it out to dry overnight, then checked-it in the morning. I wasn’t worried about corrosion from the snow. The track hardware seems fine with moisture and the rest of the truck was pretty clean (the snow was mostly an icy crust).
If a truck is just dusty I leave it as is until the next drive. Salt is the real killer.

@@rcstories_ca wow! That sounds like a good cleaning regime! I'm going to take some pages out of your book, and start doing that!
