I have missed your BatReps, especially the BattleTech ones. Not that I mind anything you do. It has been rather a long time since your last upload, which is concerning. I hope that you are alright. Sending well wishes.
@@Sorrigan I know its not the same, but you could do some stuff with Megamek against the AI, or even get together and run matches with your friends thru it. It's the curse I have right now (since about 2014, actually), living in a rural area without any Btech players. Even with battletech players around it requires pretty minimal reading to begin to understand how it works, vastly speeds the game up, and allows inclusion of the kinds of things that would bog it down on the table even more. For instance, I can play a 2000pt bv2 match against the AI, with dozens of secondary rules in place, in maybe 20-30 minutes. 45 if you include setup. With maps that can be customized, or even randomly generated. Random wind, time of day modifiers, all of it. You can save units at the end to keep up with things as well. I know its not the same as painting minis and having story for them lasting years and years but Megamek is an absolute Battletech godsend in this socially distant world. Especially since BTMuxs are long dead as well.
@@fenny1578 You wouldn't believe the pressure one of the locals, MemphisMark actually, is putting on to get me back into this routine. But I hear ya, and can completely understand. The Batreps were largely an extension of a string of loneliness before them where I wanted to play and had no group. So I wanted to savor it and help others live vicariously through them should they want to.
@@aidencrawford9704 Infinity actually. It's been awesome. I've been working on a script to help sell people on it. There is a huge hurdle to wrap your head around in game presentation that just works so well when it's well understood. @@Sorrigan Good to hear you're at least still around. Missing your Battletech Batreps. They were my subtitute for the fact that almost no people in Slovenia are into battletech.
Hi I want to thank you for your battle reports it's what got me in to flames of war back in 3rd and to paint 32 stands of ss in 4th I was wondering if you were thinking of doing anymore?
@@ArthurBugorski I considered it. But the Batreps are more a source of passion than income. While it's tempting, I think it sours the motivation- if you know what I mean.
Yeah, this was a nasty list you faced here. It really depends on if you have the right "tools" (units) in your list to beat it and if you don't it's probably going to end badly nine times out of ten. It's pretty funny that I correctly guessed what the enemy list you were up against was going to be like as soon I saw the title card saying "Alpha Legion". The way you would deal with this or any sort of deepstrike/infiltrating 9" away setup is to deploy in a traditional castle fashion with your powerful units bubble wrapped with some meat-shields who's job it is to get charged and die (or withdraw in your turn) so you can counter attack in the following turn.
I realize now, way later, that I could have used a strategem "forewarned" to atleast get to shoot him properly. Not that I think it would have mattered.
Yeah that's a brutal battle there, but live and learn and then get stompahs. It would have drawn out the battle a bit, at least in being able to deal with that intial charge tactic. Just keep at it, 8th ed is starting to gather it's steam to get everyone into their tactics.
Yeah, I lost player morale. I probably could have dragged it out a bit. I bagged his leader, the beserkers, and the terminators. I lost my chaff units.
Akula "It's pretty funny that I correctly guessed what the enemy list you were up against was going to be like as soon I saw the title card saying "Alpha Legion". " I'd say less funny and more indicative of a strong list that the game's rules and force creation make optimal against a large variety of opponents rising to the top of the meta. I remember back in 4th you had Nidzilla; unless you built your list to have a ton of powerful weapons to handle many Monstrous Creatures they would likely steamroll you because back then tanks were much more "completely fine or dead" rather than now where they have (effectively) wounds like biological units. So MCs could, especially en mass, chew through units and sustain a lot of incoming fire. And if you did build your list specifically to counter them, then you'd be overspecializing and a list with a good number of normal targets would overwhelm you. So Nidzilla had few counters yet was effective against many types of lists.
It's amazing isn't it? You can just go to your local book store and not just get a complete battletech experience, but expansions too. Wild compared to a decade ago.

I just binge watched all of your Battletech videos. Will we get any more in the future?
I'm not going to commit to anything, right now, but it's looking likely once this 'Rona thing is over.
