The way he immediately checked his opponent's ankle to make sure they were ok shows exactly how true sportsmanship should look. Great match!

The rule set favored the BJJ guy. This was not Sambo against BJJ. Sambo involves striking. This was essentially a BJJ match.
Combat Sambo there is striking but not in Sports Sambo. Just like in combat BJJ allows striking but not in sports BJJ.

Kurzhev is not even in Top 200 in Russia. Last year he was placed at 243. In sambo are levels.

Kade's skill is unreal.
Sambo is not made to perform time on floor, it's for military progression : attack, counter (throw), finishing (lock...) cause injurie and get out to continue fight
If in a street fight they let you lie on the ground for 5 minutes, then train BJJ. If they don't let you lie on the ground for even 10 seconds, then train SAMBO. These are the key differences between these styles.
If you go to the ground with a high level jiu jitsu guy I promise you won’t last 10 seconds
@@El_BeIIota Yeah that or the BJJ guy gets slammed into the concrete because he forgets he's not on a mat, especially against sambo or wrestling. On concrete people don't just bounce back up or try to transition for a leg grab, they get the wind knocked out of them, bones break and generally get overwhelmed.
@@El_BeIIotaSambo is an unarmed self-defense art. It was created for the Soviet military from various fighting styles. Later it turned into a sports discipline. In war, it is not implied that you have time to lie on your back for 15 minutes and do a hold. In war, it is important to throw your opponent to the ground as quickly as possible to gain an advantage. The same can be said about street fights, especially when there are several opponents. Therefore, in Sambo, the ground is not studied for so long, and very little time is given to perform a painful hold, and if the fighter does not have time to do it, then he is lifted into a standing position. All this imitates a fight in real combat conditions. While BJJ is a purely sports discipline designed exclusively for painful holds and for unlimited time on the ground.

Lets be fair. He threw a bad headlock gave his backup and got drained. Throwing a headlock in grappling is extremely bad technique. He defended like a champ but just got his life drained.
He submits him in kurtka too.
You don't do grappling and it shows. If I could, I would not wear a jacket at all- I'd make the other guy wear one so that I can grab them easily lol.

Uali is a monster. Ruotolo was outclassed in neutral but love seeing his efforts to try to hold his own there. Definitely favored the BJJ ruleset, would’ve loved to see more of a balanced ruleset but great matchup nonetheless
There is that problem of BJJ. If you don't go down on ground when they lie on the back and give you that come hither look, they get confused. Like you broke the rules.
Like when wrestlers or strikers get so confused they won't engage!!! So scared of losing on the ground??? Yet every bjj athlete knows it starts from standing

@jabronilifestyle so.. under bjj rules never mind a real fight a Sambo is so much better than bjj I've done both one has elbows, boxing, nut shots head butt's kicks take downs bone and lig breaks strangles and ground and pound and visious throws bjj doesn't measure up in a real fight, or fighting to bjj rules doesn't tell the whole story
@@Kane-ez I agree it is a great system, but you are comparing combat Sambo to sport BJJ. Gracie JJ had strikes, kicks etc. Sure, the focus was the ground fighting, but they have strikes. A more accurate comparison would be sport Sambo to sport BJJ.

@boss-ry3lo clearly u have never been in a fight irl. Fight any average joe on the street, and wrestling/bjj will win you 99% of fights. Also, fighting groups of people regardless if ur an expert in combat Sambo will lose you any fight.

When you see two grapplers with this level of skill, it is usually a very entertaining match. Kurzhev is a world class grappler with Gold medals in Judo, as well. That shows you the level Kade has made it to at only 19 years old.

Смысл спортивного самбо это подготовка человека к следующей ступени - самбо боевого( которое используется в рукопашном бою) отсюда ограничение времени работы в партере т возможность победить получив очки за хороший бросок. В таком формате преимущество всегда будет на стороне bjj.

Jiu jitsu is far more accessible than sambo and it works extraordinarily well IF the practitioner works. Once a match has finished, the referee should do a better job of keeping them apart. He shouldn't have allowed the other guy to stay close. He doesn't need to check on the ankle - that is the ref's job.
The ref (Vitor Shaolin) is a killer.
I haven’t watched many Sambo matches but have seen many BJJ matches and I am always amazed by this discipline. Best thing since sliced bread!

@@tbunny6305 well if I'm not mistaken there are two kind of sambo competitions, one that includes punching and kicking, and the other only grappling. So if you implying kicks and punching you would basically get a an MMA fight.

This is a grappling/submission competition, so favors bjj. Sambo and judo favor throws, BECAUSE THEY R FOR REAL WORLD, LIFE OR DEATH COMBAT SURVIVAL. In a REAL street situation - getting JUMPED by thugs, NOT a bar ego battle and NOT a sports competion - you rely on a system that's main strategy is going to the ground, u ain't making it home.
JUMPED in the street 3 times, not ONCE was it ONE, LONE attacker.

Sambo is for the battlefield so throws are emphasized and spending alot of time in newaza would be suicidal on a battlefield so isn't emphasized in Sambo.
Jiujitsu is heavily newaza focused because it's a mutual, one vs one, unarmed, dueling sport.
That kid has a bright future.
Not a clash of styles. It's a clash of skill in those styles. A beginner in one style against an expert in another style is not a comparison of styles unless of course the beginner wins.
