@@jacobkersey1575 That same guy composed awesome Disney music for Tarzan. I think I pick this song for that reason. Another NinRare soundtrack that I mix with awesome Disney music is for Perfect Dark, mixed with Tron Legacy by Daft Punk.
Drove to this song as I was traveling 3 states south moving away from home. I came across roads with a swampy forest similar to this on my night drives. This really added to the atmosphere that I still had ways to go.
Yea, since first time I heard this tune in 1995 :D From David Wise twitter back in March 2015 "No coincidence. I was trying to get the SNES to sound like the Roland CR78 that Phil Collins used for In the air tonight."
Love your work Sam!. I will mention one constructive criticism: The bass in all of your tracks is always too low. To clarify: There is always a sharp cut in lower frequency. I suspect you may be mastering in headphones or have the bass levels too high on your sound system causing you to master the tracks with not enough lower frequency in the bass and drums etc. Some notable examples (but not limited to): Funky's Fugue, Donkey Kong Rescue, Crocodile Cacophony. You're doing great restorations mate, I love hearing these soundtracks in beautiful audio fidelity and I hope you don't take my comment negatively as I intend it to be positive! :)
I allways wondered myself, why some of my masters would turn out this way. Cheers for the insight. Mastering is actually really difficult unless you have multiple systems to easily switch between like in big studios.
Yeah, the right speaker setup does wonders for a mix. I switch between headphones and near fields regularly and it makes a huge difference in what you're hearing.
Clearly a labor of love. It's too bad we can't restore the original music in the actual game with these remastered versions... oh wait, yes we can! YO WHERE'S MY MSU-1 PEEPS AT? THIS NEEDS TO BE AN MSU-1 HACK PLS PLS PLS! 2 labors of love, 1 remastered, uncompressed, goosebumps-inducing trip back to childhood.
This song always had this weird delay from 00:26 until around 00:45 where it seems like something is not right, like you can hear two different melodies that dosen't seem to fit... And you replicated that with perfection! XD Love this song! Great job man!
The "dotted quaver" or "3/16 delay" or whatever you want to call it, where each note has a duplicate that is played 1.5 notes later (i.e. halfway between the next note and the note after that), is actually quite common in video game music.
Back in the day i had a nintendo powwr catalog and i ordered the donkey kong country trilogy soundtrack. It came on 3cds and was i think 30 dollars in 1995. I wore those cds out 🙂
Great work as always. Some things my picky ear is noticing: The chirping or whatever noise it is at the beginning is a little too low pitched. Try making it maybe...seven or eight semitones higher? And the kick pedal needs more oomph and reverb to it.

I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh lord, and I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, Oh lord.
Haha
Phil Collins
I saw what you did. Saw it with my own 2 eyes.
Ok good, so I’m not crazy. I remember hearing this track as a kid and that song was ALL I could think of.

Diddy & Dixie: We can feel it comin out the swamp tonight
Bwahaha
Oh Kooong.... Oh Kooong 😂👌🏼
I would love for this trilogy to be re-released on the Nintendo Switch SNES app
Maybe one step at a time. We managed to get DKC on there this month!! :)
AND NOW DKC2! LET'S GO!!
DKC 2 !!! We’re just missing 3 and your wish came true
@@gdehoyos006 i know bro...I'm legit happy as hell
Remake them all in 3D. That'd be weird as hell but I've always wondered about it.
Is there anyone else who ALWAYS has to think about "in the air tonight" by phil collins when the beat of this track starts?
I don’t doubt if thats what David Wise was influenced by tbh
I honestly thought i was the only one on earth that thought that lol
I heard this song first before Phil Collins tbh
Yes! Also "Love Into The Light" by Kesha lol
Yea, since first time I heard this tune in 1995 :D

I can feel it coming in the air toni- oh, wrong place.
Yeeeees! kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!
This brings back good old memories, when my only worries were study and get to my home to play DK2
Everyone says this sounds like In the Air Tonight, but this always makes me think of the ambience at the beginning and end of Pearl Jam's Ten
It's a beautiful thing to get to hear these songs in their original studio quality. You're doing some fine work here, Sam!
Sem dúvida o melhor jogo do Nintendo.

That’s one possible very likely cause. But when you compress audio, any format the treble goes first always.
Best game ever made hands down till this day this my favorite game
[I CAN FEEL IT]
[COMING IN THE AIR]

Haha, so I'm not alone noticing this reference... still wondering if it's an intended reference or not! Great restore!
I love the environmental feel of this theme, also it helps make blighttown go by a bit easier listening to this
The bass/drum line are Phil, but the melody is pure Tony Banks. Funny old world.
Gave me a little chill down my spine. I love Bayou Boogie
Omg you just added this track... thank you for restoring life to music. ❤️
David Wise is a genius and Rareware was a treasure chest !
What a shame we don't have so many inspirations together anymore.
I first heard this song after hearing the "In the Air Tonight" Mashup, but it actually sounds closer to Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" the more I listen
Another Sad Love Song - Toni Braxton.
2024, and this still sounds so good, good job sam!

Yeah, isn’t that to replicate an echo effect?

When the Star is Road
Almost sounds like there's a CR-78 in there.
Am I wrong for thinking this is more fire than Phil Collins' song with the same beat?
I expected a kick ass drum solo from Phil Collins but there was none
For some reason it sounds like is from Phill Collins.
Wooo, clon of dave wise wonderful
