Cadillac’s 2025 Escalade Has A Massive 55-inch LCD In The Dash!?!?

  • Well, OK, a 35 inch LCD and a 20 inch LCD together get you to 55 inches, but that's still a special kind of crazy. What else is new? For 2025 you'll get more luxury options available including cushy 2nd row seats with tray tables, power doors and more bling, but you can't get the diesel anymore.

I feel the urge to point out that those interior displays are OLED instead of LCD. Many of GM's dashboards now have custom OLED screens shaped to the contours of the dash. This is also true of the new Lincoln Nautilus and upcoming vehicles. OLED frees them up to create more interesting display shapes and curves otherwise not possible with LCD.

Google says the average age of new Cadillac customers is 54-55, and the average age of the Escalade specifically is 46. Seems like Escalade buyers are more like Gen X with probably a good number of early Millennials thrown in.

@@AAutoBuyersGuidethey also complain that they can't figure out how many of these screen based systems work. This is blatant cost cutting for expensive vehicles. Its nonsense.

When I asked the PR folks at Cadillac during the Q&A session for the new Escalade, Caddy's average buyer is 62 currently and the Escalade is lower, he said "mid 50s". Boomers is obviously an exaggeration, but new car buyers are older than many people think;.

@@AAutoBuyersGuide oh weird, GM authority has an article mentioning Caddy chief John Roth saying 54 for Cadillac as a brand just last year (down from 59.5 just 10 years prior to that). Wonder why the relatively large discrepancy.

The interior bits appear arguably nicer, but that screen does absolutely nothing for me. I'd describe it as utterly lazy design. I suppose better than a rectangular iPad but still, totally meh. The old one at least had somewhat of a character to it.

I spoke with the Cadillac folks today for something else (coming up) and they said it is “an advanced LED display” but they said it was NOT OLED, so other videos calling it an OLED display are just assumptions. Cadillac would not describe the display tech exactly, but it’s most likely an LED backlit LCD.
