Okay, this was amazing. I was an up to date weekly Boruto anime watcher who quit due to the massive amount of filler that was being produced. Hearing canon-only plot made me actually want to go back and watch these canon episodes.

On the topic of anime canon, we know for a fact it relates to the manga story because Sumire and the Jogan are in the manga after being introduced in the anime. The Mist Field Trip Arc is also specifically mentioned in the manga even though we only see it in the anime.
I wish they included that last part into the Anime. I bet the visuals of Kawaki sealing Naruto and Hinata, getting brainwashed, and the village turning against Boruto would've been sick. Great video and I'm super hyped for the time skip!

The studio's probably just kinda scrambling because they've almost caught up with manga but unlike with Naruto's timeskip, this one shifts the status quo in such a major way that most of their potential ideas for filler arcs are now useless. There can't be any wacky adventures of team Boruto when Boruto is one of the most wanted criminals in the world so they're up the creek without a paddle.
tbh I'm very confused on why they didn't animate eida coming to the village and all the things in the chapters. if they plan on just skipping to the time skip just like that I will be so disappointed.

I think you should have included both "filler" arcs of Sumire cause not only they're actually pretty good but also incorporate well with the manga canon specifically why she ended up joining the scientific team
I’d say that since Kishimoto took over he’s been writing absolute banger chapters. Pretty much taking what he learned from writing Naruto and applying the best parts into Boruto.
Fr, I found myself far more interested in Boruto during the last few chapters. Boruto still isn't amazingly good, or as good as OG Naruto or Shippuden, but my standards are low enough that I actually enjoyed reading the last few chapters.
As well as basically turning every female character unused, I’m talking more fight scenes rather than story because obviously sarada and sumirie aren’t effected by eidas charm
This was already revealed in the original Naruto (or maybe Shippuuden) that the Bijuus cannot die, not permanently. They are forces of nature and will eventually return.

I love Kawaki's character, took the show up a whole notch for me. Naruto helping him through his panic attack was choice, and his relationship with Boruto is interesting and painful
I really wanna see if Amado is actually affected by Eida’s shinjutsu. If he is still calm after all of this, he is definitely immune because he still needs Kawaki(who everyone thinks is Boruto) alive still.
i think even if he is affected, he will figure out what happened either way. That's one of the plot points im looking forward to, people who just sort of figure out what's going on without being immune, like Sasuke.
I feel like boruto isn’t just filler it’s more of a detailed background. There’s a few events and characters in the magna that are spoken about like we should know but they were only covered in the anime
@@lunadoesthings8050 thats a lie. Filler never used to fill in blank spots. It just meant anything not related to the main story and couldnt be counted to the over arching plot. Boruto anime canon is important to the over arching plot way more than OG Team 7 chasing an ostritch in the desert.

i reaaaally want to know if Hima is gonna be affected by Eida's power... like... is she gonna forget her brother? since there is a theme of people who love Boruto being unaffected by it (Sarada and Sumire, even if it might just be romantic love since Mitsuki wasn't immune) and Daemon implied that Hima was possibly one of the strongest in Konoha... idk ... maybe if she awakens her tenseigan she will be able to see through the brainwashing or something ... because damn, poor girl just lost everything, both her parents are gone and her brother is going on a training trip
I would be suprised if they didn't go with something along those lines. I mean there are many types of love. I get that her ability itself have something to do with romantic love, but maybe it gets canceled out by family love too. I mean both of his parents were removed from the story, and I can't help but wonder why... If the brainwashing affected them too, why would they bother to remove them from the story beforehand? Wouldn't it have been even more dramatic and heart breaking if even Boruto's own parents didn't remember him? Is could also just be because they knew both Naruto and Hinata would probably listen to Sasuke's daughter the same way Sasuke did, but it seems odd they removed them to begin with if they would have simply been brainwashed too.

Maybe Himawari is where Kurama reforms also as a result unlocking the Tenseigan after all outside of Naruto, Himawari is the only one with pure connection to Kurama the whiskers are obviously remnants of the fox. So maybe Himawari, the Kitsune sage?
I honestly feel as though the Boruto manga has stronger character development for our main character. I do feel as though it has side character issues in terms of development, but i think thats mainly due to time constraints and having the plot have to ramp up due to where our character starts out. I think Boruto would have done much better as a light novel or something that releases weekly.
The time constraints have nothing to do with side character development. Kodachi simply decided not to focus on the side cast in the manga and let the anime develop the side cast because he was the anime supervisor.

@@swed8506 That's literally almost every modern shounen ever. It's due to something called power creep that is needed to continually add stakes or tension. A manga that does the opposite opm has an entirely different dedicated formula.

Had to make that clear so we don't steer off the track again. What made the series Naruto so compelling was the story it left behind. Power tiers exist in all actions series, but when it becomes only about power, it gets stale and redundant and actually decreases the tension. Once they introduced aliens, it was over.

Any chance kashin koji and Mitsuki train together during the time skip? Both are clones of two of the sannin and could be a chance for jiraiya and orochimarus clones to have the close bond that the originals never did. Both are also perfect sages so koji could help mitsuki train in sage mode. Just a thought
or what if oruchimaro uses samples from both to create a new being that would allow him to get perfect sage mode himself. the he becomes the most powerful sage ever
yeah, love could play a role in how Eida's power affects people. Removing Boruto's parents from the story might have been done for dramatic tension and character growth reasons. The reasons behind their removal are still unclear, but it could be connected to the larger narrative and Eida's power.

It's crazy I just discovered Nick 2 weeks ago, and he is hands down, one of my favorite youtubers. His theories are better than the real story. He explains everything so well. His voice is perfect for narration, and his knowledge is ridiculous. Im glad I found his content it inspired me to read Boruto. Late to the party but it was confirmed by the official Boruto/Naruto timeline that the academy arcs in the anime are canon to the manga. They received novels adaptions and they happen between the end of Naruto and the start of the Boruto manga.

I'm predicting that after the time skip - probably in the beginning of Sarada's "training arc" - Sarada will consider going down a dark path to avenge, get stronger, protect, etc. Just like Sasuke, Madara, Obito... but mainly Sasuke. Maybe Orochimaru tries to finesse her or something... At which point, Sasuke will finally confront Sarada's prior questions about the Mangekyou and Itachi (or maybe Naruto/Sakura will tell her, depending if Sarada stays in the village or goes with Boruto and Sasuke). Drawing on the similarities people are making between Sarada and Itachi, I think she would be greatly motivated by Itachi's and Sasuke's history. Ultimately, Sarada would make the right decision and become stronger for it. I digress...
Orochimaru ain't finessing anyone anymore. The guy has changed, ever since Sasuke was convinced by Hashirama and Itachi to change his ways, he's also followed Sasuke in changing his ways. And Naruto is not going to be involved in her arc - he will be sealed until the final fight with whoever comes after Kawaki. Sakura, though, will get involved, but only after Sarada convinces her that Boruto is Naruto's son.

kinda off subject but something I'm curious about if Sasuke wanted he could use Rasengan due to having seen it with his Sharingan so much, but could Naruto learn and use Chidori utilizing Sage mode to negate the tunnel vision aspect of it
actually probably, you know, you might be on to something there...but it would make sense, you essentially need the sharingan to be aware of your surroundings and be able to counter should it fail, sage mode would provide the same level of awareness if not more so...

Chidori is dependent on Chakra nature. Sasuke can definitely do rasengan though just not on the effectiveness naruto can because wind is OP in the naruto verse lol

ok, the intro about how long Boruto is convinced me to give it another shot. i started with the anime, which was... ok before trying to transition over to the manga and was a little lost. When i tried to place where in the manga i was in conjunction with the anime it didnt seem to match up very much. i assumes it was due to filler but got discouraged and just ended up droping it. I have just rencently found your channel and am enjoing the snippits that pop up in my feed, so thank you.
I agree. I actually enjoy the anime canon/filler of both Naruto, Naruto Shippuden and Boruto far more than the actual story because I actually got to spend time with these characters outside of missions.
I think sasuke changed his mind because of the MS as he knows uchiha needs a very strong emotions to awaken MS so sarada must know something he doesn't to make her able to awaken MS so i don't think that he's a great father or that he trust her more than himself but his knowledge of the sharingan and his trust that MS couldn't be achieved by just boruto lying to sarada and it needs more than that especially when it's not a tragic emotions that triggered it
i think filler episodes are good , because you can bond over some characters , and you see them bonding with eachother . remember in naruto all those fillers mision naruto was paired with diferert ninja from konoha, showing you bonds created, if you skip all fillers, you wont understand why all leaf simp for naruto -- unpopular opinion
True but you can honestly skip some of the Boruto filler and not miss a thing. The filler just serves as character development for people outside of team 7. Half of the cast in the anime don’t exist in the manga so it’s kinda pointless.

@@Tasty_Tango45 that true but you can look at it like this. The story of Boruto is told from the events of the past that led up to the current time somewhere in the timeskip (obviously). The manga tells the important parts of the story like only including specific characters that played a important part to the overall story and the anime tells all the minor details like for example Boruto goes to thunder burger after mission… to chill with ….(people that aren’t in the manga) or on this day naruto went to hang out with himawari for the day. All information that you can say did happen just not important to the overall story compared to how Boruto got the karma or how does iishiki play into the overall story.

What really i don't understand by all this situation, is that Boruto didn't seem to be affected by this in any way, like emotionally, maybe because he is just a kid and doesn't realize the situation he is in. He took all this situation like it's some challenge, like it's another Monday, i mean bruh...you were betrayed by the person you considered like your brother, he took away not only your parents but your whole identity and pretty much everyone sees you as a hokage killer. His life literally took a complete 180 degrees in just one moment. Despite that, he is confident he can fix everything lmao.
it's because boruto isn't actually a character, he's just a window into the world, which is the WORST thing one can do when trying to make it *seem* like a character is actually a character. Boruto's character is barely even 1/10th of what Naruto's character was, and he stands for much less than what Naruto stood for.

Boruto should have been born with the Rinnesharingan. I said it. He has Hagoromo’s chakra and Hamura’s from his parents. It would’ve made so much sense for him to have Byakugan and Rinnesharingan, and for that to be something that makes him feel like an outcast. It also could’ve been what compelled the Otsutsuki to take Boruto seriously, and would’ve been a good reason for them to take an interest in him. Naruto shouldn’t be running around everywhere. He is the Hokage, and he should stay in the village. And Sakura is the Head Medic. She should stay too. We should’ve had Boruto and his team handle the threats at the beginning, so that they aren’t overshadowed and so that OP characters aren’t nerfed. The first major arc we should go with? The Shin Arc. Have Team Konohamaru run into Shin, who takes an interest in Sarada’s Sharingan, Boruto’s Rinnesharingan, and Mitsuki’s similarities with Orochimaru. Have Boruto and the Gang ultimately defeat them on their own. Honestly, my main problem with Boruto is that Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto have to take out every threat, rather than let Boruto or any of the Genin take care of it. It’s like if Naruto was a story where Hiruzen and the Jonin constantly showed up to take care of every issue. It’s boring, and it undercuts our main characters as they grow and progress. Would’ve been even better if Hanabi was Boruto’s Sensei instead. Could’ve opened up some Hyuga plotlines where Hanabi teaches Boruto to use the Byakugan.

I've recently read all of boruto and naruto until the timeskip. And boruto is a lot worse. Panels, art, story, characters (screen time) etc. It is not AS bad as some people claim it to be, it is actually quite interesting. I really really hope that 2nd part will change for the better. Also, for some reason there is not a lot of memorable fights in boruto, at least for me.
I have to give it a grain of salt in comparing the two because I’m not developing anymore so of course it’s less impactful and less memorable but is that due to the content or the stage of life if it’s readers?

Even though I dislike Boruto, I heavily appreciate your efforts to introduce new fans to the lore. I was in Japan last month and I looked all over Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto to find Naruto stuff (Merch, figures, etc) and found almost nothing; I even went to one of the only two Naruto parks (Shinobi-zato. This park was awesome!). I also looked at every single Jump Store in each city and I was surprised to see so little.

The studio's probably just kinda scrambling because they've almost caught up with manga but unlike with Naruto's timeskip, this one shifts the status quo in such a major way that most of their potential ideas for filler arcs are now useless. There can't be any wacky adventures of team Boruto when Boruto is one of the most wanted criminals in the world so they're up the creek without a paddle.
tbh I'm very confused on why they didn't animate eida coming to the village and all the things in the chapters. if they plan on just skipping to the time skip just like that I will be so disappointed.

I’d say that since Kishimoto took over he’s been writing absolute banger chapters. Pretty much taking what he learned from writing Naruto and applying the best parts into Boruto.

I feel like boruto isn’t just filler it’s more of a detailed background. There’s a few events and characters in the magna that are spoken about like we should know but they were only covered in the anime
Thats what filler means, it means it fills in the blank spots and that which we don’t know from character backgrounds

I honestly feel as though the Boruto manga has stronger character development for our main character. I do feel as though it has side character issues in terms of development, but i think thats mainly due to time constraints and having the plot have to ramp up due to where our character starts out. I think Boruto would have done much better as a light novel or something that releases weekly.

The time constraints have nothing to do with side character development. Kodachi simply decided not to focus on the side cast in the manga and let the anime develop the side cast because he was the anime supervisor.

Any chance kashin koji and Mitsuki train together during the time skip? Both are clones of two of the sannin and could be a chance for jiraiya and orochimarus clones to have the close bond that the originals never did. Both are also perfect sages so koji could help mitsuki train in sage mode. Just a thought

yeah, love could play a role in how Eida's power affects people. Removing Boruto's parents from the story might have been done for dramatic tension and character growth reasons. The reasons behind their removal are still unclear, but it could be connected to the larger narrative and Eida's power.

Late to the party but it was confirmed by the official Boruto/Naruto timeline that the academy arcs in the anime are canon to the manga. They received novels adaptions and they happen between the end of Naruto and the start of the Boruto manga.

You explained it very well, Boruto really is a good story, and a continuation of Naruto, i think it honors it.
I'm predicting that after the time skip - probably in the beginning of Sarada's "training arc" - Sarada will consider going down a dark path to avenge, get stronger, protect, etc. Just like Sasuke, Madara, Obito... but mainly Sasuke. Maybe Orochimaru tries to finesse her or something... At which point, Sasuke will finally confront Sarada's prior questions about the Mangekyou and Itachi (or maybe Naruto/Sakura will tell her, depending if Sarada stays in the village or goes with Boruto and Sasuke). Drawing on the similarities people are making between Sarada and Itachi, I think she would be greatly motivated by Itachi's and Sasuke's history. Ultimately, Sarada would make the right decision and become stronger for it. I digress...
Orochimaru ain't finessing anyone anymore. The guy has changed, ever since Sasuke was convinced by Hashirama and Itachi to change his ways, he's also followed Sasuke in changing his ways. And Naruto is not going to be involved in her arc - he will be sealed until the final fight with whoever comes after Kawaki. Sakura, though, will get involved, but only after Sarada convinces her that Boruto is Naruto's son.
Doubt it. Why have her go down a different path this whole time just to 180 for a couple of minutes just to 180 again? That’d be really stupid.

kinda off subject but something I'm curious about if Sasuke wanted he could use Rasengan due to having seen it with his Sharingan so much, but could Naruto learn and use Chidori utilizing Sage mode to negate the tunnel vision aspect of it
actually probably, you know, you might be on to something there...but it would make sense, you essentially need the sharingan to be aware of your surroundings and be able to counter should it fail, sage mode would provide the same level of awareness if not more so...

ok, the intro about how long Boruto is convinced me to give it another shot. i started with the anime, which was... ok before trying to transition over to the manga and was a little lost. When i tried to place where in the manga i was in conjunction with the anime it didnt seem to match up very much. i assumes it was due to filler but got discouraged and just ended up droping it. I have just rencently found your channel and am enjoing the snippits that pop up in my feed, so thank you.
I personally like the Boruo filler way more than the actual canon. Maybe because I Boruto is my least favorite character...

I think sasuke changed his mind because of the MS as he knows uchiha needs a very strong emotions to awaken MS so sarada must know something he doesn't to make her able to awaken MS so i don't think that he's a great father or that he trust her more than himself but his knowledge of the sharingan and his trust that MS couldn't be achieved by just boruto lying to sarada and it needs more than that especially when it's not a tragic emotions that triggered it

i think filler episodes are good , because you can bond over some characters , and you see them bonding with eachother . remember in naruto all those fillers mision naruto was paired with diferert ninja from konoha, showing you bonds created, if you skip all fillers, you wont understand why all leaf simp for naruto -- unpopular opinion
True but you can honestly skip some of the Boruto filler and not miss a thing. The filler just serves as character development for people outside of team 7. Half of the cast in the anime don’t exist in the manga so it’s kinda pointless.

@@Tasty_Tango45 that true but you can look at it like this. The story of Boruto is told from the events of the past that led up to the current time somewhere in the timeskip (obviously). The manga tells the important parts of the story like only including specific characters that played a important part to the overall story and the anime tells all the minor details like for example Boruto goes to thunder burger after mission… to chill with ….(people that aren’t in the manga) or on this day naruto went to hang out with himawari for the day. All information that you can say did happen just not important to the overall story compared to how Boruto got the karma or how does iishiki play into the overall story.

What really i don't understand by all this situation, is that Boruto didn't seem to be affected by this in any way, like emotionally, maybe because he is just a kid and doesn't realize the situation he is in.

My favorite part of Naruto was early mid Shippuden. It was more serious, with older characters, but hadn't gotten to Chakra mech levels.
Boruto should have been born with the Rinnesharingan. I said it. He has Hagoromo’s chakra and Hamura’s from his parents. It would’ve made so much sense for him to have Byakugan and Rinnesharingan, and for that to be something that makes him feel like an outcast. It also could’ve been what compelled the Otsutsuki to take Boruto seriously, and would’ve been a good reason for them to take an interest in him.
Naruto shouldn’t be running around everywhere. He is the Hokage, and he should stay in the village. And Sakura is the Head Medic. She should stay too. We should’ve had Boruto and his team handle the threats at the beginning, so that they aren’t overshadowed and so that OP characters aren’t nerfed.
The first major arc we should go with? The Shin Arc. Have Team Konohamaru run into Shin, who takes an interest in Sarada’s Sharingan, Boruto’s Rinnesharingan, and Mitsuki’s similarities with Orochimaru. Have Boruto and the Gang ultimately defeat them on their own.
Honestly, my main problem with Boruto is that Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto have to take out every threat, rather than let Boruto or any of the Genin take care of it. It’s like if Naruto was a story where Hiruzen and the Jonin constantly showed up to take care of every issue. It’s boring, and it undercuts our main characters as they grow and progress.
Would’ve been even better if Hanabi was Boruto’s Sensei instead. Could’ve opened up some Hyuga plotlines where Hanabi teaches Boruto to use the Byakugan.

All we're missing is Future Trunks and the twist that Shibai needs to absorb the cyborgs to regain his full (or dare I say Perfect) strength
The 2 cyborgs are in no way stronger than shibai 😳 not even close they were stronger than jigen i doubt they're stronger than isshiki himself .

I've recently read all of boruto and naruto until the timeskip. And boruto is a lot worse. Panels, art, story, characters (screen time) etc. It is not AS bad as some people claim it to be, it is actually quite interesting. I really really hope that 2nd part will change for the better. Also, for some reason there is not a lot of memorable fights in boruto, at least for me.
It’s just as bad as War Arc era Naruto.
I have to give it a grain of salt in comparing the two because I’m not developing anymore so of course it’s less impactful and less memorable but is that due to the content or the stage of life if it’s readers?
That legitimately sounds just as bad as people make it out to be.

War Arc Shippuden atleast brought closure to a few character arcs.
Although of all the stuff that you didn't cover, Sasuke and Sakura vs. the Dinosaur Prison is pretty great.
i def think the manga is going to exceed my expectations i hope it does and im hyped for it i want to see people read it tho ik theyre scared or just dont want to i think people should also read the mangas around it as well as they are good and give more information also ms sarada is great for the future of uchihas

I was in Japan last month and I looked all over Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto to find Naruto stuff (Merch, figures, etc) and found almost nothing; I even went to one of the only two Naruto parks (Shinobi-zato. This park was awesome!). I also looked at every single Jump Store in each city and I was surprised to see so little.
