For some reason I like the Halo CE reloading sound more than all the others. Is something about that cracking noice it makes before the needles come out.

I love how the needler shoots slowly in the older halos but progressively gets faster with each game entry. Also Halo 3/Reach is peak needler sound design, animation and balance imo.
Yeah, they like start from the front and all spike back to the end of the gun! Very cool animation! Halo ce had some great animations for it being 2001! Also, i remember when there was needler ammo, crystal blob looking pickups in that one level, then never really seen again! 😅😆

The first time I ever saw Halo was from a broadcast of a Halo 2 Tournament on G4 as a little kid. I remember everyone fighting over the Needler so I constantly saw it. The design of it blew little me's mind and to this day, the Needler is still the most iconic weapon in the series imo

If there was one weapon was was truly unique to halo, the needler would be a contender. It's designed to be so alien that in the lore humanity can't figure out how the firing mechanism works.
The sound design is so iconic and just absolutely phenomenal, and then Halo 4 shows up and it just sounds like a Machine gun, and then Halo 5 just sounds like any rapid fire plasma weapon from any franchise ever, and then Halo Infinite show up and just sounds like a muffled mobile game's laser sound effects sped up... huh.
I still love that to this day no one bloody knows how this thing works in lore. No electricity. No propellant. It just spits out needles somehow that are somehow also homing and somehow reloads itself with a few shakes.
Never realized how much slower the fire rate on the H2 and 3 needlers were. Probably to balance for dual wielding, but its quite pronounced. At least in 3 it got faster over time
I know most people remember the halo 2 version because it was pretty OP with the duel wield, but I love the ramp up it had in CE. You wanted to start shooting before you were actually looking at your target.
yeah right lets just hate them for trying to give the serie a more modern scifi view rather than the old late 80s type asthetic it have . you say one more reason but 90% of your reasons are just this , asthetic and cortana and the halo5 new spartans and the spartan women from 4 . all are silly excuses that reflect symptoms of being spoiled to a point you totally ignore the qualities and use nostalgia .
