@@caboose8110 gravity gun really isn't that unique tho, a purple and pink pistol that shoots shards of exploding crystals is a little more unique in my opinion.
I ultra love the Infinite's needler, but CE's needler is something special ❤

Fun fact you can fire the h2 needler faster by quickly squeezing and Unsqueesing the trigger rapidly,results with dual wielding: almost instant super combine
I like the Reach one the most, it feels the sharpest to me, like I'm getting hit with fiberglass lol.

Oh man, awesome but was hoping for both H2 versions of when you are dual weidling, and offset them about halfway between eachother so you get that ultra rapid fire sound.

@@asriel_4955 I love it too as H3 is my ride or die favourite. But if I could I'd make the needles a little longer or sharper, they look like soul gems from Elder scrolls more than "needles"

For some reason I like the Halo CE reloading sound more than all the others. Is something about that cracking noice it makes before the needles come out.
Halo 2 Anniversary (campaign) got that sound right too

If anything the anamoly is Infinite with an even less alien-sounding and different sound design and reload to the past needlers, more so than H5.

@@_yoshivolts_115 I don't dislike it besides the sound. It seems too conventional. CE's is my favorite with the ring to it. Something about the timing of the reload and sounds just hits right.

I like how the crystals actually come out of the gun on the Halo CE Needler, but then the rest of them just sort of pop into existence.
Yeah, they like start from the front and all spike back to the end of the gun! Very cool animation! Halo ce had some great animations for it being 2001! Also, i remember when there was needler ammo, crystal blob looking pickups in that one level, then never really seen again! 😅😆
@@optiTHOMAS Yeah you see a bunch of them lying next to a crate in 343 Guilty Spark. Which is kinda funny because it's probably one of the worst weapons in the game to use against the flood lol.

Halo 2 Anniversary is so gorgeous. No other Halo game has had me audibly say "wow."

Halo 4 is different, but it just has a kind of satisfying crunch to it.
The OG Halo CE Neddler handling/reload sound has free realestate in my brain and has been living up there rent free since 2009 😂

I love how the needler shoots slowly in the older halos but progressively gets faster with each game entry.
Also Halo 3/Reach is peak needler sound design, animation and balance imo.

Never realized how much slower the fire rate on the H2 and 3 needlers were. Probably to balance for dual wielding, but its quite pronounced. At least in 3 it got faster over time
CE needler will always be my favorite. The visceral melee animation, the reload animation, the cool blue lighting in the crystals, the purple lighting shining from the needle holes, the color of the gun. Something about the first game overall was just special.
Worst design was Halo 3
Most deadly design was Halo 4
Most Alien looking design was Halo 5
Best design, Halo Infinite
Best working design consistently is Halo 4/5
Dual wielding the needlers in H2, then firing them off set of eachother so you had a literal machine gun of pink mist flying down range; was therapy…
I just beat that with a friend. And am upset I never thought of that considering I did with the plasma rifles...

@@samuelschurman3762game balancing basically. It made some confusion and issues for the basic combat system. I miss it too! It was so fun to duel wield stuff, especially the needlers and maulers! 😅🥲 i doubt it will return, but it was fun and felt badass for sure!
I miss the original reload noise of the crystals popping up "PSHIING!" bring it back
The overall sound design was much better in Halo 1.
Human Gunfire had a low bass sound to it and the plasma weapons had the "chfff" sound that had bass to it as well.
Then after that all of a sudden... all the weapons went pew pew and human gun fire sounded like rattling a tin can.
Best comparison of sound quality degradation I can make is Halo CE is the prev gen MW and as Halos progressed, they turned into Black Ops.
Halo 5 version is the best one for me on both design and sound. Halo 4 and Infinite versions almost sound like a SMG :V

Hot take, halo 5’s sound, while not as iconic as the others, is still great.
The sound design is so iconic and just absolutely phenomenal, and then Halo 4 shows up and it just sounds like a Machine gun, and then Halo 5 just sounds like any rapid fire plasma weapon from any franchise ever, and then Halo Infinite show up and just sounds like a muffled mobile game's laser sound effects sped up... huh.

yeah right lets just hate them for trying to give the serie a more modern scifi view rather than the old late 80s type asthetic it have . you say one more reason but 90% of your reasons are just this , asthetic and cortana and the halo5 new spartans and the spartan women from 4 . all are silly excuses that reflect symptoms of being spoiled to a point you totally ignore the qualities and use nostalgia .

finally the needle gun of halo 5 is actually the best in this list for logical reason . thats what a glass bullet will sound like if fired from a smooth tube (go watch the sound a tea bubble fired from a straw) . the previous ones sound potato fired from a gas gun with a weird wistling added to it similar to that of arrows but the halo 5 one have a more realistic sound to what a glass bullet might sound like .
