If you make Halo like Halo, you cannot fail. I like the seriousness change to Guilty Spark. And in Halo 2, we learned that there are many Arbiters. Perhaps this is only the prequel to the Arbiter in the games. Hoping you continue on with this series! YOU MUST!!
so instead of 1/18th of the series it can be 1/9th? Let's try 3-4 times as long. The games were able to have a more compelling plot that progress _while_ battles were occurring. I get that it can't and shouldn't be 100% combat, but it shouldn't be a tiny fraction either.

Nonsensical connections between humans, covenant, and forerunner technology? Really cheesy dialogue and sub-par acting from half the cast? Weird design choices and lack of attention to detail? These were beautiful action scenes! For a TV production, there is a lot of great CGI when needed for the big battles. Love the choice for lots of long shots with minimum camera cuts, it really allows the badass fight choreography to be shown off. As for the writing of this show…why they got my dog Master Chief raw dogging .
Look at this and see how much better the show is when he doesn’t take off his helmet Edit: watch how the quality drops astronomically when his face is on-screen
I love how the vehicle's chain gun is useless when a human uses it, but it can mow Elites down when a Spartan fires it. It is still a badass scene though!
Notice how it's a show (as in, not a game) that revolves around story & characters? Thank God we're not subjected to Master Chief running around maze-like ships, Halo rings and caverns for hours on end? That would be so insanely boring. The games are what they are and work well for what they are. They can't be translated shot for shot to a live action drama. Won't work. Sit with that.
I like this but don’t think that saves you paramount. I will not be trivialized by my guilty pleasure of chief being a total badass. The show writers will never understand the complexity of what I wanted this show to be and in my mind if they don’t get season 2 right, that is the point of no return and I know I am not alone.

You’re way too picky. The series has its fault, sure, but you have to commend them for putting in a huge amount of effort into the cgi of the covenant, the visual effects, the choreography of fight scenes, and really setting the mood by making it feel like the situation is completely hopeless for humanity in the face of the overwhelming power of the covenant. So there's a 3 of 4 fight scenes where Master Chief never takes off his helmet helmet, I don't know why people cry if this is literally a good representation of the Lore character
the fact that every episode isnt like a mission from the game, just angers me. Bungie laid out the perfect stories and all oyu have to do is turn it into live action
I guess theres a reason John would rather use a plasma pistol than any of the dozen energy swords he walks by...why he wouldn't dual wield swords is incomprehensible
The only thing that makes this so terrible is the need to constantly show emotions and remind us what chiefs face looks like. I’m watching Halo not Iron Man. Spartans typically have such a disturbing calm about them while in heavy combat that I question if these are Spartans or just heavy armored ODSTs.
21:39 Jimmy Rings: Gets headbutted and yeeted like 10 feet and is incapacitated. Master Chief in Infinite: Gets bashed in the face with a modified gravity hammer and gets back up nearly immediately.
That Brute has corn rolls. That's geeked. Seriously though. Even though the action scenes are great here, I already saw more than a couple things where my reaction was "a Spartan II would not react to that situation that way. Maybe a III, or a III Gamma, excluding the IV's for obvious reasons any fan would probably guess. That said, they defiantly get the action down, the gore/damage the weapons would do, and the mass of the Spartans, brutes, the agility, etc. But I've never seen plot armor in any video game/film that was as thick and glowing as chiefs when he had 3 chieftains stomping him with gravity hammers that aren't landing blows like gravity hammers. And then the chieftain getting air struck at the end as he ran to meet Chief, who he'd overpowered in every confrontation up to that point. They had me thinking due was Atriox. The show has potential, as does the general concept of a halo series. We just need a baseline of respect for the already established lore and material.... P.S. Jackle cutlass is a great advent, would love to see that in a game. That part of that scene was flawless.
Why is the Covenant ground assault force comprised of jackals and grunts? Jackals that very peculiarly have swords. To go up against a UNSC base with 3 Spartans... CMON GUYS
Well the Spartans were a surprise. They attacked thinking it was just a base of regular humans. Even the civilians were surprised to see the Spartans show up. I agree though, the show has many flaws lol. Just saying this was kinda explained.
These action scenes are cool but anyone whose played the games and especially read the books its extremely underwhelming. They dont fight like Spartans and regardless of the story Spartan 2s wouldnt fight one another. This is clearly made by people who dont respect the source material and dont care about how fans will react to it. Im surprised they bothered to green light a 2nd season.
I'm hoping to see more combat in season two, but that it has a more warlike feel, something like ground battles where we can see the marines fighting the Covenant. Maybe I'm dreaming too much

Edit: Another one that is a personal favorite is an official storyboard animation made by Microsoft about the short story "The Mona Lisa". It's free on TH-cam and has some of the best flood content on here.
Soren really did have some good fight scenes. Favorite battle scene overall though had to be on Eridanus.
Although I haven't played the HALO game before, I have enjoyed the development of the characters in season 1 and it helped me to understand and enjoy the speed of season 2 more. I cannot wait for season 3. Frankly the only reason I ordered the Paramount + app was to watch this show without commercials. Please keep the HALO story going as long as possible. Long Live the Master Chief!!!
Paramount, excellent work! Just finished season 2 and I'm impressed. I was worried at points during the 2 seasons but you did not disappoint. How you did the Flood was totally awesome. If you make Halo like Halo, you cannot fail. I like the seriousness change to Guilty Spark. And in Halo 2, we learned that there are many Arbiters. Perhaps this is only the prequel to the Arbiter in the games. Hoping you continue on with this series! YOU MUST!!
Master Chief is a freaking badass in this show
This needs to be twice as long in season 2
so instead of 1/18th of the series it can be 1/9th? Let's try 3-4 times as long. The games were able to have a more compelling plot that progress _while_ battles were occurring. I get that it can't and shouldn't be 100% combat, but it shouldn't be a tiny fraction either.
I feel like the games look a million times better
they actually did a very good job with the fight scenes. it’s close to perfection, the only problem i really have is Soren. Soren is still a Spartan II, so he should’ve been tanking punches and kicks from regular people like they were absolutely nothing. but other than that, the fight scenes were really good
That, and Chief took on 3 ODSTs alone when he was 14ish(or at least, just after his augmentations) and killed them barehanded without meaning to
@@Joaning1775 yeah that’s just one example of how overpowered spartans are out of armor, even as children. and yes, that was when he was 14. also he only killed one of them, but he broke multiple bones in the other ones
how can u say that? the chief shouldve been one shot against suited spartans. maybe there holding back but still. this looks cheap, no lore, no heart behind it
@@agentnukaz1715 that’s true. but there’s not no heart behind it, Paramount seems like they’re actually putting a lot of effort into this show, whether the result is good or not
The fight scenes are above and beyond better than the plot, but they're nowhere near perfection. Just count how many times the Spartans _choose_ to give up a range advantage and engage in hand to hand combat. Or how many times they do silly power ranger type moves.
Am I the only one who genuinely loves this series?? I think it’s really good. Especially season two. The battle at reach was amazing.
What was "really good" about it?
Breaking lore more times that you can count? Destroying beloved characters? Screwing up timelines? Nonsensical connections between humans, covenant, and forerunner technology? Really cheesy dialogue and sub-par acting from half the cast? Weird design choices and lack of attention to detail?
Even if you know nothing about the games, the series is like a 6/10 at a maximum just based on plot and acting. I think a 6/10 would be generous even for a non Halo fan.
if theres anything about this series that is badass its 21:05 this is one of the best scenes ive seen 😭
ignoring the inconsistencies ofc
@@puppygirlivy You mean like The Last Jedi level of opponents waiting for the Chief to be ready before taking a swing? And Chief taking direct hits from a gravity hammer and shrugging it off?
the brutes did hit chief first and caught him off guard only the main brute did that, and the gravity hammers either were either blade down or just didnt enable the gravity part (like when Chief slams the hammer on the ground) @@xitaris5981
i havent seen this yet and I wasnt stoked about it but im hoping ill love it after i start watching it
you wont
im thinking about it lol@@bladehawk6823
You just watched it fully, theres nothing more to watch.
@@nosense8744 😂
Welp...I'll never get those 25 minutes back but I guess thanks, you saved me alot of time. I don't really care about seeing Chiefs face but the way they are portraying John is a travesty.
Seeing a jackal run around with an energy sword was one of the funniest things I've seen today
8:28 tho 😘
These were beautiful action scenes! For a TV production, there is a lot of great CGI when needed for the big battles. Love the choice for lots of long shots with minimum camera cuts, it really allows the badass fight choreography to be shown off. As for the writing of this show…why they got my dog Master Chief raw dogging .
well said
Chief has always been a gigachad, why are you surprised?
A jackle with an energy sword is Ludacris
3:02 Alright! Master Chief brought Heavy Machine Gun is ready to fire! Say hello to my little friend!
Look at this and see how much better the show is when he doesn’t take off his helmet
Edit: watch how the quality drops astronomically when his face is on-screen
Cortana taking over chief was the CORNIEST thing I've ever seen! How did this get ruined so much!? CMON GUYS
How does he hear cortona without the helmet?
neural implant
Jackals using energy swords is a crime in itself 😫
Well I mean, jackals were the covenant race that cared the less for everyones culture so...
yall are tripping, whole show was amazing to me.
I thoroughly enjoyed the 1st season! CAN'T WAIT for season 2!!!!
Thoroughly? That’s a lot of an overstatement.
@@ChefandTheArbistor in YOUR "opinion" and since it's a STATEMENT of MY opinion, keep scrolling junior 🤣
Are you mentally ill or have you just never played halo?
@@hankthepatriot3733 same I thought it was good.
Same, was it perfect? no but i enjoyed it and im a long time halo fan
Seriously this was probably supposed to be all the best parts too... horrendous.
Like, CMON GUYS
🔥💩
Best parts yeah I’m sorry just wow
I love how the vehicle's chain gun is useless when a human uses it, but it can mow Elites down when a Spartan fires it. It is still a badass scene though!
I do love some Master Cheeks action, if I do say so myself!
Literally the best parts of the entire show have nothing to do with the story
Notice how the show is 10+ hours long about a first person shooter and only 26 min was actual combat. Sit with that
Notice how it's a show (as in, not a game) that revolves around story & characters? Thank God we're not subjected to Master Chief running around maze-like ships, Halo rings and caverns for hours on end? That would be so insanely boring. The games are what they are and work well for what they are. They can't be translated shot for shot to a live action drama. Won't work. Sit with that.
Esto es Halo Loco!!!
18:38 hahaha I didn't notice Riz taco'd that barbell weight when she kicked it. That's awesome.
Why they making my marines look like stormtroopers bruh, smh.
I like this but don’t think that saves you paramount. I will not be trivialized by my guilty pleasure of chief being a total badass. The show writers will never understand the complexity of what I wanted this show to be and in my mind if they don’t get season 2 right, that is the point of no return and I know I am not alone.
My girlfriend loves it, she would not have loved the neckbeard idea of purist halo. There is human drama, faces, relations the familiar dynamics of shows kinda. Even if I have played all the main games since childhood.
@@magnem1043 There is literally everything you just described in the various Halo books, many of which are phenomenal stories by the way. It would have been so easy for them to adapt some of the novels to make a genuinely great show, but instead they just completely changed just about every important story point and made something that can pretty much only be called Halo because of how things look.
Just ignore the chief issues and questionable plot decisions and appreciate it for what it is.
Also, I want a season 2 so just stop complaining.
@@CloneCommanderCrater1102
>clonecommando
Name checks out. What is with you neckbeard chuds wanting everything about a series to perfectly conform to the source material? You are getting incredible combat scenes and excellent visual effects the likes of which we have never seen in a TV show based off a video game before. Just learn to appreciate what they’re giving us instead of constantly complaining like a beta.
@OpenBorders4isengard I will agree that the cgi, visual effects, and choreography are all pretty good, at least most of the time, but good visuals will absolutely not get me to just ignore the absolute mess of a story they made. I actually like certain parts of the show, and I especially enjoy all of the little deep lore things that they throw in here and there, but I just really can't get behind all of the really important parts of Halo's story that they just completely changed for the worse just to be different.
My favorite part in ce was when i got scared playing 343 guilty spark so i just let cortana finish the level for me
1:42 love the bolt not moving when he's firing
Thanks for putting this out so I don't have to pay for the show. More apps should do what you guys do. Paramount a real one, idc what anyone says
The shield beeping and recharging sounds are excellent, why did they not do this in season 2? Not even through the helmet visor views happened in season 2...
the only good moments out of the show for free in one vid W
Nah they skipped a lot of action and tense scenes in this upload
Wow such a great show, cant wait for the highly anticipated season 3!!!!
Gracias Paramount y todo el personal involucrado. ❤
Well I guess it is futuristic to use caseless ammunition. Still gives me an uncanny valley feeling but oh well
Wait a minute unless I’m tripping I don’t remember Jackals rockin energy swords Jackals are snipers am I Trippin
It's a energy dagger shown in *Halo Reach* , jackals are not always snipers.
some of this looks pretty good and some just looks straight up goofy, want some good halo irl action and story, check forward unto dawn, trailers for odst and reach. Fan made films, etc.
It felt like the action choreography team and story team had 2 completely different directors running the show
Nice to see master cheeks is back in action…. Yay?
14:11 one of my fav scenes, and ill admit the actor never rly grew on me until i saw him in Halo, hes usually always an antagonist in other films- untill he played Soren
The action keeps me attached to watching cause I never thought I’d see live action Halo battles other than forward onto dawn story could be closer to the source material so still on the edge but I’ll give S2 a try
The action battles is 100% halo and done good
Man... Helldivers 2 looks so good!
They should change the title to “ALL THE BATTLE SCENES FROM SEASON 1”
That’s pretty good for a series actually.
Thanks for fuckn up the greatest
OG games ever...😂
Grazie mille per il video! 🇮🇹
Forward onto Dawn had the best live action Master Chief. Shame they didn't keep it that way.
Just for this I subscribed to Ur interesting channel. Thank U for offering us such a natural wonder. Btw, I liked the colors of Ur photos processed with that camera. 😉🙏🏻👍🏻⚫🌌
RvB did action wayyyy better
Around 11:57 the shotgun fires without Chief's finger being anywhere near the trigger.
So there's a 3 of 4 fight scenes where Master Chief never takes off his helmet helmet, I don't know why people cry if this is literally a good representation of the Lore character
The battle scenes where so awesome, but in 10 50 minute episodes there were only three.
Is there any action in general beside what’s shown in this video?
@@bonelesswater1064 Nope. The show was absolute garbage, just play the games and pretend this thing doesn’t exist.
the fact that every episode isnt like a mission from the game, just angers me.
The actor playing MC pressured them for more face time.
@@xitaris5981 no duh granted they could have just gotten someone else it’s not like the original guy was good anyways.
21:39
Jimmy Rings: Gets headbutted and yeeted like 10 feet and is incapacitated.
Master Chief in Infinite: Gets bashed in the face with a modified gravity hammer and gets back up nearly immediately.
i love that guy with the AK-47
0:57 This right here was clean
It was clunky, imo. Why are all the movements so slow and exaggerated? Why did he choose to fight in melee range when he has a ranged weapon?
Episode 9 was awewome
The battle felt kinda rushed to me. Still a very good season finale ep
Excelente filme pra os amantes das telas do cinema
For being 500 years into the future, they sure use a lot of really, really antiquated equipment.
This scene at 4:39 I thought they gonna show a hunter. I remember the hunters are made up of those worms right?
It's pretty cool, the grunts and Jackles look good so do the elites but the elites armor is kinda wierd looking
Love Chief takes the machine gun in the first episode
Excellent thanks
I love how they edited Cortana to literally sound like she is in chiefs head
I'm hoping to see more combat in season two, but that it has a more warlike feel, something like ground battles where we can see the marines fighting the Covenant.
Maybe I'm dreaming too much
Nah, the Trailer showed something like the fall of reach, so maybe your wish will become true.
@@nosense8744 God listen to you bro
