This really is such a beautiful and unique start to the series. I fell in love with it with episode one. I honestly can’t think of anything else like it out there. A great reinterpretation of the Shakespearean play, which itself is based roughly on the events of the war of the Roses. Brilliantly done for a new audience.
I like the concept and the story. The design is good. I plan on watching the whole thing... I just feel like the pacing is all wrong. This episode could have been 5 to 10 really poweuful episodes alone. There needed to be more time devoted to character development. It just felt like frantic clanging climaxes with no time to process or appreciate them.
I stan the main character and appreciate the heavy Shakesperean(?) influence. If you think there are "edgy" bits to this, well...have you read Shakespeare? 😉 I really like it even just seeing ep 1.
There are 2 old action anime that I highly recommend called B’t X and Guyver Bio Booster Armor(please help me spread the word). Also there are full episodes on TH-cam.

I haven't met my cousins since I was 7, I don't even remember their names. I imagine being nobility would make that much harder. Not everyone is close with their extended family.
I thought that they are all related , so why should they fight with each other. Back then, it took a really long time to travel and see other people , though.

I know how fights can start between family members and greed and the negative side of human nature can take over. Richard II was Warwick's uncle. Someone made the comment that it was War of the Cousins and then it changed to War of the Roses. Don't know if that is true or not .
I feel like making Richard III a pretty boy is disingenuous to the source material. It’d be okay to take inspiration from the play and simply rename the characters for the new story, as to avoid annoying the purists.

If you want good animé watch ghost in the shell SAC series or original anime movies. The story still ressonates to this day unlike this generically drawn anime.

I didn't expect to like Requiem as much as I did. This a pretty cool take on Shakespeare's original work. Bring on episode 2!
