I figured I'd clarify my thought process on Diluc's Abyss run. I've received many complaints about how Diluc's subdps Xingqiu wasn't built properly in the past. So this time, I built his new best in slot subdps option, Yelan, properly. To NOT use Yelan with Diluc is to not properly play Diluc when you have her as an option.
However, when speedrunning, my **sole objective** is to complete it as FAST as possible. Everytime I tried using Diluc, he would add 1-4 seconds onto each chamber. Intentionally going slower with an optimal team is against the whole point of speedrunning, although it is debatably against the point of a showcase. But I think the end result speaks for itself and shows the state that older characters like Diluc are in, in comparison to their "subdps supports" like Yelan.
Anyway, I do take your feedback seriously! Hence why I properly built Diluc's subdps for this video 😁 Thanks for watching!

I'd say it's probably a sign to have Xinqiu built to properly support Diluc in the video, rather than doing a Yelan showcase. I can imagine being very dissatisfied if I was a Diluc main watching this for a comparison.

So what I learned from this abyss showcase was:
-Even with C6 Yae and Sara, Tighnari still contributes quite a bit himself
-Keqing's lacks a better dendro support and has to rely more on Yae than Tighnari
-Diluc's "optimal" team is sub-optimal because he's in it lol
Keqing+fischl c6 + traveler dendro+kazuha or keqing+sara c6 + traveler + kazuha es better than keqing + yae .-.

There’s no optimal 4 character team for c6 yelan because outside of literally just kazuha, switching her out to anyone else would be a dps loss, she just wants any other hydro on her team for resonance and literally anyone else, doesn’t matter. Maybe childe for his ascension talent that buffs normal attacks and _maybe_ xingqiu for the hydro shred and ignore his skill??

This is a Diluc speedrun, not an Aloy one. (Edit: C6) Yelan is Diluc's BiS subdps/support. To not use her would mean you are not giving Diluc his optimal team. And even with his optimal team, Diluc is bad. That's the point.

I get the idea of building supports as much as possible, but that defeats the whole point of "showcasing" Diluc versus the others, doesn't it? The point of a showdown should be to see how much the individual character's damage can be supported, not overshadowed. If it's too hard to do because Yelan or another 'support' is too strong, then just limit the supports to 4-stars. I think it would make for a much more interesting and entertaining showdown.

Why can’t you ever show the actual character running the abyss? People watched this video to see Tighnari, Keqing, and Diluc. You do this in a lot of videos too, you will have a team + Raiden and then just use Raiden to clear the whole abyss. No body cares about how fast Raiden or C6 Yelan could clear the abyss, otherwise we would have watched that video instead. If using Diluc on screen makes the run slower, then he makes the run slower. At least that way we know what Diluc is actually capable of.
You also say Diluc is the strongest standard banner character under the ideal conditions (having C6 Yelan). But you literally didn’t even use him. So his ideal conditions are to just not use him at all and have him take up a character slot for no reason.

I get there's a disclaimer that says "not accurate at all levels of investment" but still c6 Yelan is a dps monster herself. Not using diluc at the end doesn't prove hes useless in helping the team, it just means the video didn't even showcase him AT ALL???

I think it would be more fair if you didn't use Yelan's c6 breakthrough barbs during Abyss 12 showcase. You could've just swap to Diluc after activating her burst.

I just run the abyss 12 with yelan c6 and qiqi. I named the video Qiqi dps showdown. I'm a genius.
and even then she still would've dealt most of the team's damage lmao
HERE maybe this will help:
1) Diluc normal attack are really slow (He is a Caymore User) thus you will miss three procs of yelan burst while using them.
2)Diluc Burst is is rather long and add too little dmg considering his speed with vape instead you can use yelan to be present in on field to acquire more energy for her next burst.
3) If you are not going to use Diluc's Burst, with his skill it will take around 4-5 procs for a single vape.
Now, if we watch carefully in video, Yelan's 1 proc has three instances of Hydro DMG. One instance is doing MINIMUM 63k dmg. That is like 3*3*63,000=5,67,000(Hydro procs during one diluc normal attack*no of instances in one proc*DMG during single proc) and that is at minimum!!!. Now for Diluc his MAXIMUM is like on 100% pyro infusion with vape is like 44k. Therefore 44,000(Diluc dmg with one normal ATK)+2*63000(Non vape Hydro DMG of Yelan)+2*63000(lets just assume vape does double DMG then Yelan's one instance of vape)=296000k.
I mean really without Diluc's involvement Yelan is doing more than DOUBLE DMG when with him at her MINIMUM.
The only thing I gathered from the Abyss showcase is that Diluc is so sub-optimal, that the best way to use him on your team is to not. 🤔
You could've literally placed any single character C6 fully built, and it would still do the same as Diluc, aka nothing. Since everything was already done by Yelan

Hoyoverse's plan for Diluc is probably positive Melt, this is why Hoyoverse avoided positive Melt/Vap reaction teams like the plague. Maybe Diluc will catch up again in Snezhnaya. XD

I much prefer characters like this because it i like them, i can go for it in the future. My main team has Raiden on it and there's legitimately no reason to c6 her because it's essencially useless. The other extreme are like Xiao, characters you realy don't want to use unless you have c6.

Yeah like Xingqiu would have been better by far. Or going meltluc. Melt dives higher multipliers from the getgo.💀 vape is just easier to ungabunga. Vape luc is begginer friendly or when it's an abyss that you can use it in. Melt luc is better but a bit harder to use. Tho I like it. Numbers are much better.🤤
Diluc is capable of using Yelan optimally in his team, hence he should be allowed to have Yelan in his team.

this reminds me of the itto vs eula vs xiao showcase where you couldnt justify xiao's slow times and made him a raiden support when that is not at all his intended usage. if this video was meant to be any sort of insight on diluc's viability as a standard banner unit, there should have been no issue showing off the best he is capable of doing even if it hurt your speedrunner soul. i don't like or care for or play diluc, but if the only point of that abyss showcase was to give reasons WHY you shouldnt use diluc then this video shouldnt have been a showcase for him at all. if a character genuinely sucks or is powercrept, so be it, but there is no reason to NOT show that in the video who's intention is to show the comparison in the first place.
Exactly! Eula's run had Kazuha and Sara which were there to buff Raiden and didn't benefit Eula at all. It was a Raiden v Raiden hyper v Itto showcase rather than Itto v Xiao v Eula.
Totally, and i actually think that diluc would not be that behind of the other 2, he totally lost the vape reactions. He should just used yelan ult and swap to diluc...

@@NWILS-uc1ju IIRC, that Abyss have 2-boss monster chambers that you need to burst 1 down then the next as quickly as possible, and that team worked really fine. The problem is he speedruns the Abyss part rather than showcasing the character as the main driver. And I get the idea of utilizing each of every ounce of the "supporting" character to optimize the run, since in actuality Raiden is the best partner for Eula on all of the possible team comps. It's just feel disingenuous that the video is about A vs. B (vs. C) showdown until the Spiral Abyss part.
exactly, it should have been the speed running potential of the c6 STANDARD banner units. Ofc using the entirety of c6 Yelan's kit is gonna outclear the other two, that shouldn't be the point.
Getting a standard banner character to c6 is getting more and more likely for F2P and Low spenders by the day. The question of using it over a limited unit with lower constellations starts coming into the forefront at some point. He should have used her as if she was c2 tbh.
By the logic presented in the abyss runs, it might be better to swap Yae out of Keqing's and Tighnari's teams and put in Yelan. It would then probably be a time save to not use the main DPS much, kinda how it was for Diluc.

I'm going to do an Amber showcase with my team made of Raiden, Yelan, Bennett and Kazuha.
Adding a “f2p achievable” team DPS showdown portion would be ideal, where they can only use 4 star weapons and 4 star supports at c6. Or c0 five stars with 4 star weapons and use someone else’s account
Keqings biggest strength to most teams is how well she drives fischl’s A4, which ends up being relatively better than Yae at non-whale investment.
It also would mean that c6 r5 yelan is off the table

I think for the abyss 12 run, you should use their most optimal teams with f2p builds, or use their best 4 star supports and avoid 5 stars that benefit too much from cons. That way it won't become a sub dps showcase like it did here. Getting the fastest speed is less important to people than seeing how the char would realistically perform
Yeah, no Yae, Yelan, Venti, etc. Putting other 5* on a showdown (except Traveler) goes against any fair or realistic showcase.

@@biazacha it's not the 5stars, it's the c6r5 untra built 5stars... I can get any of these characters if i want to but C6r5? that's probably 2-5 years of primos (dpeneing mostly on weapon rng) concenteated into 1 character. That's way too unrealistic for us who don't get payed to play the game.
Showcase characters on-field time, timed and averaged. Averaging is due to watching each individual run 5 times, my timer skills aren't perfect after all.
-Tighnari: 19.7 seconds
-Keqing: 22.8 seconds before others finish, 28~ seconds overall
-Diluc: 1.1 seconds
While I understand you wanting to be as optimal as possible, that would be like claiming to do an Abyss speedrun with level one Aloy and then using her NA once before switching to a hypermeta comp+aloy flex slot. My point is, Keqing is also relatively suboptimal, and she recieved roughly 20 times the on field time. We'd much rather see a DPS showcase using the character advertised as opposed to a c6 Yelan showcase, even if Diluc will in fact be slower. He's the original Pyro dps, of course he's going to be slower than a recently buffed electro unit or Dendro Ganyu. Love your videos nonetheless, keep up the good work!

@@jthompson7024 That's why I love Xiao and Tartaglia dps showcases, as most of the time it's nearly impossible to neglect their raw on field dmg potential. I concur though, even if it's slow, use the character you are showcasing lmao.

the difference is that keqing's supports in this video doesnt require much field time... so the free field time window goes to keqing who needs it... on diluc's team however, both yelan and diluc, at c6, have to be on field to fully utilize their kits... keqing isnt suboptimal there... she fills in the time when no one needs to be on field so its a positive increase in team damage compared to not having her at all... diluc on the other hand, even at c6, is worse than his supports at dishing out damage while also requiring field time... i dont understand the need to be upset over a whale c6 team showcase since its unaffordable to most players.... if you have the money to have c6 characters, you objectively wouldnt want to use diluc either.
@@HuTaoSoulmate Disagree with the Tighnari comp, and while true for the others, it's a damage showcase for Diluc, Keqing, and Al-Tighnari, not a support showcase. Speedrunning it with top tier c6 supports who don't need another character to be a main dps completely annihilates any reason to call it a dps showcase. That was my point. Uh... I think it was a nice showcase up until 9:12. You must surely see why we have an issue with the abyss showcase since 99% of Diluc's showcase was C6 Yelan. It's not showcasing pretty much ANY of Diluc's ability in the slightest!

I love your content man. It's informative, clear and even the awful puns are enjoyable but this was not it. Similar to the Itto/xiao/eula showcase where Raiden carried the eula (and I think the xiao one too) abyss run your priorities are out of whack. If speed running is the only thing that matters to you then make a speed running video. In a character showcase their supports are not suppose to take more field time that them. Even if you have c6 Yelan you could have opted not to use her c6 charged attacks to allow diluc to proc her ult as he would with xingxiu. By the logic you used all three teams could've had Yelan on them and gotten similar times. What does that actually tell anyone? I know you're busy with lots of new content for us but this felt lazy and poorly thought out.
He could even just add the c6 yelan gameplay at the end as a extra to explain the same that c6 yelan can win alone, but nope expected to see more or less who is stronger and received nothing xD

Tbh, I dont think the abyss showcase was fair.
Diluc did like 3 instances of damage and only in the last chamber, while Yelan, the most broken 5 star, did all the remaining work. At least Tighnari and Keqing where doing something while Yae's totems were killing enemies.
Yeah, at the moment Yelan is simply the strongest Character in the game, not really a fair run here. But I enjoyed teh video anyway.
It's like Tighnari team vs Keqing team vs Yelan team with a random Pyro; heck, Amber would probably help with clear speed more than the Diluc there 😂

So true, its like putting an overpowered char in one of the team rather than putting a support unit. Yelan was the main dps and diluc was basically just a side char which did nothing. But tighnari's dmg actually did pretty good with yaes, i would say they both did 50/50 amount of work.

Amazing how Diluc's cosplay powers in his showcase made him out to look like a lot Yelan
what's even sadder about this showcase is the fact this isn't the first time he's done this. He's done this with his Eula "dps showcase" using raiden for 95% of the time and made her hard carry. He did this with Yoimiya and made kazuha bennett and Zhongli do all the work. Iwintolose is truly one of the content creators of all time
Although using yelan for diluc was optimal, yelan+ keqing+venti+kazuha and yelan+tighnari+venti+kazuha would’ve been pretty much the same run

I like the Deepwood Sara support idea! I've been using her with Tighnari and Fischl and the set works well with how she buffs them, very creative. I didn't think Tighnari could wipe the first half of the abyss so fast with all the enemies, fun showcase!
I love how Yelan just has perfect rotationd that Diluc couldn't even do anything. I'd actually rather see Fischl with Tighnari instead, and good old Xingqui with Diluc as these seem more realistic team wise, and people actually have the constellations for them so C6 isn't unreal

I think yelan and yae should have been swapped out for fishl and xingqiu, they carried so hard especially yelan. To the point that it was hard to see how much they contributed to the team

@@BarQ__ Just wonder though if it would actually be more beneficial to run Yae opposed to Fischl if you did the calc's. The time required for Yae's set up alone may skew the numbers more in Fischl's favor even though scaling's would be higher with a c6 5 star toon naturally. The 2 extra seconds that it would take on average to get yae's skill out comparatively to fischl's oz may give Fischl teams a faster time to kill on most targets which is overall more important then consistent prolonged dps in this game. Kind of crazy a 4 star can even be comparable to a c6 5 star in strength for the same role. Fischl is just busted imo. (also a4 ascension passive on fischl is mongoloid with dendro, not sure Yae could keep up even on prolonged dps)

As someone who didn't initially plan on getting Tighnari, I am so happy to change my decision, he's really fun to use with the quickswap dps playstyle. My Yae has a new favorite playmate. Got lucky with his weapon too.
This video helped me a lot by showing me that I wasn't updated about the change of thundering fury set

I’ve been following IWTL since day one from his Klee content. I really like his style and all of his videos actually. But this one, man 😂 I mean I can clearly understand his intention but doing this is just wrong haha. Real DPS Diluc would’ve clear the Abyss 12 a lot longer than Keqing now a day. I'm grateful for the comparison between these three. The only thing i felt a bit weird to watch was the abyss run. Yes we know c6 diluc does much less dmg than c6 yelan so he's not optimal for speedrunning but we still want to watch how good or bad a character performs because that's what that character can do in this situation. Just like yae miko was doing much more dmg than keqing or tighnari but they had their time to show their abilities and what they can do in abyss

Tighnari being a modern 5 star and having all his constellations definitely puts him way ahead of the 1.0 5 stars whose constellations are arguably some of the worst in the entire game. I think that if this was a Constellation 0 comparison for all 3, Keqing would easily come out on top now. The flat damage boost from Aggrevate is just too good and her ability to never not have Electro damage for it.

realizing you didnt use diluc in his own abyss 12 run was hilarious. i do think though you couldve included a 4 star support run with fischl for tighnari and ESPECIALLY keqing, as fischls a4 passive is very synergetic with keqings high electro app, and xingqui for diluc so he couldve actually gotten the screentime to show off his batman larping.
Would have been cool to see a comparism at c0, since tighnari constellations are really nice, while keqing/diluc aren't. So it would have made them all much more closer to eachother.

The Abyss showcase was pointless if you was just gonna use Yelan in Diluc's "showcase" to let him win. Should have used Xingqiu instead and actually USED Diluc in his own showcase. Otherwise what's the point in calling it a Diluc showcase if you literally only used him for one hit at the end? Just a C6 Yelan showcase.

Keqing have the most shit constelations so in C0 she could be like 5 times better than Diluc and Tighnari [Yes, I remember about Tighnari worse arts, so Keqing and Diluc also should have a little worse arts]

You might have wanted to do this after 3.1. Tighnari is bugged and isn’t getting the bonus damage from his a4 or the hunters path passive when he gets elemental mastery from an outside source, ala sucrose. He’ll be fixed with the 3.1 update.

Glad I got Tighnari before he was banished to the Standard Banner forever, since my track record for pulling Diluc or Keqing has been horrendous (2 Jeans, 1 Qiqi and 1 Mona) Im glad I got him early.

@@SpeekofDee There's barely any difference in terms of playstyle so it doesn't really matter whether your Tighnari is C6 or not.
For what it's worth at this point if you're going for optimal conditions for diluc you're better just using c6 R5 Yelan and calling it a day 😭 diluc is great don't get me wrong but because of his rather slow movement and the excessive strength of Yelan it's hard to see what outside of fun and enjoyment would you use diluc
