Great review. I have used the aluminum summit viper way over 20 years, had to modify it with a "Hazemore" seat, also wrapped the ends of the cables with 'vet tape'. No way around it, the viper is noisy, I once caught a trespasser using a summit viper, I could hear him climbing from over 100 yards away- so deer can definitely hear it too. Vet tape the cable ends, that go into the stand, & it quiets it down a great deal. Now I use the Lone Wolf sit & climb which is very quiet, XOP makes a less expensive version which is similar- I modified it with a "hazemore" seat, it's a hammock style seat that looks like a basketball net. The downside of the Lone Wolf is the price, close to $500.00. I love watching everything hunting, especially here in the North East.

Super informative. I already have the steel and just ordered the SD today because I love it so much. Wanted to see the difference between the two. Looking forward the the lighter version. Where I live and hunt sometimes is mountainous, but my deer camp is flat rolling terrain. Think I'll use the lighter one here at home and the steel at the deer camp. Tha KS for the info! Great video

Thanks for the review. Helped out a lot. Just bought a summit Goliath for $70 and am hoping it a works good for me. The tree stand i use currently use is sketchy af, had to get something more safety. Plus it sucks not being able to sit down with my current stand because there's no seat. I think the summit is going to be a drastic improvement. Now I just need a harness. Any good recommendations on a cheap harness to purchase?

Hey aprox, thanks for checking out my channel! You will love your Summit stand for sure. If you are looking for a cheap harness, this Muddy harness is good and on sale now amzn.to/3aBSENM - if you want to go higher end, I recommend the Summit Pro (super easy to get in and out of, comfortable and fast to climb with) amzn.to/3BHpwR7 please hook me up and hit subscribe if you could! best of luck this season 👍🏻

I agree with you on the Summit carry straps. I dont like the bungee strap deal. I want that jazz locked down while transporting. Any metallic movement sounds is too much. Great vid.
