The recipe in this video uses eggs. Does it taste like it contain any eggs in Hongkong? The one I buy locally here (not in China) does not have eggs. For the oil, the other Chinese cooking channels usually use peanut oil for frying in China as far as I know.
You are right - usually peanut oil was used, as it has a high smoking temperature and imparts little taste to what is frying. I think most likely eggs were used in the recipe I enjoyed in Hong Kong, although I could not taste them, per se... just like I don't particularly taste eggs in my homemade pancakes or muffins, although I know they are there. Seems they were just very slightly pale yellow inside, not the stark white color they would have been had no eggs been present, only flour. These look exactly like what I enjoyed in Hong Kong, and the pressing with the chopstick trick to give them the distinctive shape is identical. Cannot wait to try making these, hopefully soon! :) @@jessicag630

I only dabble in bread making, but I feel confident to try her recipes. These labor of love are delicious through lifelong personal experience.

If you want to eat again you need to defrost them. Either fry or oven-bake or air fryer them again for them to be hot and crunchy.
