"Dust in the Wind" is a song recorded by American progressive rock band Kansas and written by band member Kerry Livgren, first released on their 1977 album Point of Know Return.
The song peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 the week of April 22, 1978, making it Kansas's only top ten Billboard Hot 100 charting single. The 45-rpm single was certified Gold for sales of one million units by the RIAA shortly after the height of its popularity as a hit single. More than 25 years later, the RIAA certified Gold the digital download format of the song, Kansas' only single to do so certified as of September 17, 2008.
Interesting fact:
The guitar line for this song was written by Kerry Livgren as a finger exercise for learning fingerpicking. His wife, Vicci, heard what he was doing, remarked that the melody was nice, and
encouraged him to write lyrics for it. Livgren was unsure whether his fellow band members would like it, since it was a departure from their signature style. After he played the demo for the band, there was a "stunned silence" and the band asked him, "Kerry,
where has this been?"

Excellent! Best version I've seen of the song so far. The guitar work was amazing. A young chap (I am not young) said to me a few months back that those of us who were born early enough to enjoy the music of the '70's and '80's were lucky because that is when the best music was being written. Many of your choices of covers bring back the teenage years, even if our bodies hurt a bit more. Great music!
I loved the original by Kansas when it first hit the radio back in my day and love this version just as much if not a little more. Beautiful song, beautiful guitar and beautiful woman with a great voice..

I wish this song would have hit your heart as well when the US destroyed Libya. The West's double standards are astounding, even know they try to justify invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq and their attempt of revolution and eventual civil war in Syria, not to mention it's spill overs. They really do compliment each other well. Both are skilled in their own right but together they take it to a new level. Plus, I think because they do all their own recording, mixing, mastering etc., the passion is being put in the videos and music throughout every step in the process and I think it comes out in the final product VERY well.

I could listen this song for hours... There is such fatality in Daria's voice, this is juste perfect for this song and the message it carries. And the melody of Sergey simply enhances the whole thing. I discover your band only a couple of months ago and I love all that you do, but I think this song is my favorite.
