  • Carrying on the preparations for the MOT by looking at the Suzuki GN 125 brake caliper with a view to cleaning it up, this bike now runs and stops. the Suzuki GN 125 is proving to be very forgiving machine to a novice mechanic to work on.

Yeesh yeah, I know it's an old vid now, but that is one shagged rear sprocket :P I've recently just got a GS 125 on the road and did some work on it at my dad's. My front brakes had a leak from the master cylinder. Turns out was just some crud on the o-ring seal. The caliper was stripped down and given a basic service and flush through. Had the rear wheel off myself just to clean up and check the drum shoes and drum. My dad had already put a new chain on it and it's rear sprocket was fine. So popped it back on with a basic adjustment at the time.

Thanks for watching and leaving a great comment. It is easy to get a leaky looking front master cylinder if you place the diaphragm upside down on your bench the brake fluid trickles onto the top of the diaphragm. Then when you put it back the fluid seeps out the top like you have a leak but you don't really.
Anyway have a safe journey mate.

@@peterh600 Yeah it had been sat for nearly the last 14 years. Had some work done on it. The prior owner hadn't noticed it had been leaking. Sadly it's took some of the paint off, but I'll be doing a "running" restore paint job on the freame this November.

@@Lupni3rd for what it's worth I had a Yamaha Dt50mx frame powder coated cost about 90 quid but looks good and is really tough. My other frame i used spray on smoothrite which when dry is resistant to fuel leaks and is quite tough.
