Hello, me again 😅im probably going to end up commenting on every GZ video you have, as im trying to learn what i can. i know you dont have the bike anymore but any bit of help is good. my front brakes squeak a little bit as im pushing the bike to move around the garage with the bike turned off, and not pressing the brake lever. just moving the bike and they squeak. they may do it when the bike is running but i cant tell. any ideas what it could be? maybe it needs adjusting somehow? could the pads be riding on the rotor? the rotor seems to be in really good shape. very smooth, no scoring, and seems quite straight from what i can tell without taking it off.
Its probably nothing but yiu could remove them amd use some fine sand paper and swirl the pads around on flat surface. Use that paper and scuff up the rotor a little too. Sometimes de ris can embed into the pads. Use a littls brake grease in the areas that the brake brackeds rids. You know the aeeas that make contact with the cliper and piston. Try that.
I learned to ride on mine and it took me awhile to learn to shift up. Lol. These are very good bikes, I was amazed how awesome ours was. I beat it up and she kept going. My son learned on ours too. He had a problem red lining the bike because he kept forgetting to let off the clutch, so yeah, they are somewhat bullet proof. I would totally suggest these for beginners. Once you learn you would want to upgrade. I went and bought me a 19 Vulcan 900 lt and could not stand riding the 250 due to lack of power. Great bike
@@cobravids Hey thanks for the speedy reply, yes I just picked one up myself to learn and mine only has 500 miles! Just changed the oil now im on to the brake pads.. The reason why I said that is because when I shift all the way up to 5th gear pass 50 mph the shifter kinda jumps a little. Might not be much but just wanted to know if you felt anything similar.
@@StandFast1611 it may just be a little loose. Check the linkage where it attaches to the engine. If it's not jumping out of gear and tight dont worry. She's a great bike. I changed oil every 1 to 2 k miles. Filter every 4k. It takes such little oil it wasnt too expensive.
@@cobravids Thanks for the heads up, I dont plan on freeway-ing my gz250 but just using the bike to learn on and commute to and from work (taking the backroads of course) haha.. Anyhow, you've been a big help, happy and safe riding and happy new year friend!!
This was an older video. Back when CobraVids was a young child. Anyone who asked about this we provided the service manual for them. Thanks for watching. Have a great day.
Thanks for the vid. Helped out tremendously!
Still haven't watched the video , but is it the same for Gz125 as mine need replacement
The two bikes are nearly identical. I am not 100%sure but I think it will be the same.
@@cobravids Thank you !
Do you have a video on a gz changing foot brake cables?
Fortunatly i never had to work on that one. Sorry.

@@SkylerB17 lol. I juat got into my new town in Texas. Just unloadsd my 5.0 off the trailer.
Thank you too much.
Are these engines bullet proof? I've heard gz250's have very forgiving and good engines?

@@StandFast1611 oh and by the way. Top speed is like 60 to 70mph

You're welcome, have a great time.
Torque specs, no thanks to this video
Brake caliper mounting bolt: 39 N-m (3.9 kg-m, 28.0 Ib-ft)
Brake pad mounting bolt: 18 N-m (1.8 kg-m, 13.0 Ib-ft)
"torque em down to specs" and those are what exactly? honestly, it's gonna be easier for me to just read the service manual at this point...
