I just love how DRAKE just presents this ship like it's "your first line of defense against pirates" while their biggest customers *are* the pirates. XD

No, they sell everyone. Drake is the type of company that sells both sides because is more profitable and close their eyes for what is the actual use of their ships.

I really appreciate the understated humor of the Prospector pilot just drinking his coffee while watching the battle as if it's just another day out mining the asteroids. :)

I like that the Valkyrie and Kraken have brought back the ship COMMERCIAL style trailers, rather than the cinematic trailers we got for some of the newer ones.
It makes more sense to make them like this too, because they can use the ads in-universe that way.

What's really cool about the new cinematics for the ships.. is that they are now made by a team who used to make in game TH-cam videos - just normal backers like everyone else. Chris liked their output so much, he hired them.

You know what? I came to the realisation. It's not pirates who asked him to leave. Pirates would not ask. Prospector and kraken are pirates. Kraken attacked without a warning or at least threat. Not very nice.

Nnaaa for a carrier that is SMALL. Six MAYBE eight fighters, compare that to the navy carriers already in game.
IDRIS is a small carrier for 3 fighters, the Kraken lands right in the middle. :D
Idris is a frigate not a Carrier the kraken is a little support Carrier in the same size

Looks like an old ww2 escort carrier in space, and I love it! We finally got a light carrier for clans/groups.
I love how the prospector pilot never truly ended his coffee break.
Also, no one picked up on the bigger fish until it was too late.
Tunnel vision....you see the target/prey and you forget everything else...bad habit....and a tough one to overcome.
This ship looks to functionally be a Carrier Escort, and has the aesthetic to back it up: A ship design originally intended to be a cargo hauler, that had hangers and a deck bolted on at the last minute.
And you know what? That's frigging awesome! I won't be doing anything to warrants me getting one personally, but I'd love to fly shotgun for a corp with one some time.
I dimly remember one of the wing commander "books" took place on such repurposed freighter-carrier things. constantly outmatched and picking the battles ;-)

I love these advertisements, they're so well made. I don't even own the game and I find these enjoyable to watch.

I am actually somewhat curious about that as well.
but yeah, SC just makes a complete joke about elite "new features" pretty much ever since elite actually launched. Good ideas from the comunity, bad design and even worse implementation afterwards and just a complete disconect between player and company.
@@mobiuscoreindustries Yep but ED is a propper and complete game you can enjoy for 20 bucks and SC after spending 70$ in an avenger titan... I realised that it is a crappy game full of bugs and glitches. Stil waiting for a game that will be never launched. They prefer to sell spaceships in their crappy alpha and hyped ppl to bought it.
@@sigunat because SC is not yet a game, it's an alpha now (to repport bug to the developpers). I think is better to wait the solo game to have an idea about the quality of the future star citizen.

My personal head cannon is that Misc and Drake have an unspoken partnership where their ships work great in tandem, boosting their profit margins significantly in the outer parts of space.

I am 100% going to be piloting a pirate carrier!
piloting a big ship is kinda borring though. as you see in the commercial, it just moves, slowly , to position. While other people are having fun in the fighters and turrets
Well i was not really planning to dogfight with it. Also i want to run it more like a mobile space station for pirates to drop or sell stolen loot at. Also the max crew of this ship is only 10 which is only 2 more than the hammer head so its not like i am trying to use a Javelin for piracy, its much more reasonable.
I'd use these as clan ships, use a fighter for regular missions but bring these out if another clan wants to go to fkn war.
I just love how the miner doesn't say a single word the whole time and just relaxedly sips his tea^^

It's not new to the game
The only landing you’re going to see is crash Landing
they were solving the issue of landing ships in a moving spacecraft carrier like a year or more ago, I would take it they solved it at this point, especially since this is most certainly a player facing ship where the other was mostly NPC but player possible.
I wouldn't take it for granted. In fact I can bet you that they haven't until you see footage of players proving otherwise.

just think about this, an Org. could just lock down a profitable Asteroidfield and mine it themselves, or sell mining Pivileges and Protection... This game offers sooo many Possibilitys, it's just cracy. Hope it will live up to the Expectations i got.
I have a Kraken and I've been thinking about this recently. I could have a fleet of Orions that I loan out to other players (I'll take a 40% cut of everything they make) and we mine a profitable asteroid field. The Kraken acting as a mobile base but also a refueling platform if needed.

@@armor059 orions unload on Kraken, kraken loads onto cutlass, caterpillar etc and those sell for profit. Kraken could also refuel or atleast serve as base for vulcans.
Quite the operation hes got planned there tho... Crewing kraken, multiple orions and the support ships... that does take some time, dedicaion and planning, as well as a lot of players and NPC crew...

I like how this commercial never explicitly states that the bad guys are pirates. It's implied, but given it's Drake they could very well have been legitimate mercenaries protecting their client's interests. Meanwhile, the Prospector might be a claim jumper with the right kind of friends.

Seems like a good must have for frontier security. I could see a group of 5 or so prospectors commissioning a kraken to provide security for specified sector for a certain amount of time. Letting them mine in peace.

Either way this puts the final pricing into perspective better.
And it will only be timely limited and reset. You dont get those things finally, while prices might be absolutely broken. There will be a wipe of one sort or another.
This stuff is way cool. Getting people to get along enough to have a group that not only can pilot that ship/turrets but the ships docked on it long term is another story. I can see it more if there were payed incentives like in game salaries and committed time slots but over all people just wanna be their own boss. I hope for the best with this game.

I'd love to see a battle involving pirates vs security, with some of these on the pirates side and a Bengal on the security side.
