It feels like the canon one tho. You have to fight everyone, get all boss fights and have a super ambiguous ending. The others feel like non canon endings, like Strelok choosing to use the wish granter

42:58 The reason "Representative" doesn't answer Dalin's question with Strelok is because Skif chooses to help him rip out the machine; the Representative does answer with Scar because Skif "believes" and doesn't help Dalin rip out the machine, thus giving Representative time to answer
Initially, I thought that having Dalin reunion with his dad was a good thing, only to realize that that is a trap of Shining zone illusion. He wants his dad to be alive and he believes it. But reality is that he is dead and there's no Subtle Mater, no eternal life as an unrestricted consciousness...
There's an optional questions you can ask Agatha for the warden ending. In one of them Skif asks Agatha what will happen to the Monolith and c-con agents. Agatha answer than Monolith is a failed project and needed no more. But as for agents - she will avoid a direct answer and instead will tell that best of them weren't even aware they were Agents, but that didn't stop them from completing their missions. And she'll add that it's fascinating. In that same ending Skif will be awarded with keys from his new home and set free by Agatha. That means that all this time Skif actually was an Agent himself. Same as Strelok, but never realized it. And while Strelok was (re)programmed to kill c-con scientists, Skif was programmed to complete the second step of same task - destroy c-con itself, end the X-project and destroy the Zone entirely. And he'll became successful at it (well, at least in that particular ending).
Skif was not an Agent - as stated before in game by Strelok, second exposure to reprogramming is harmful or even fatal, we can see it happen to Dark or in a fight vs Scar. And i don't remember anything about Skif being in Zone prior to the events of the game, only that he is retired veteran who is complicit in illegal artifact trading outside of the zone, so that makes it impossible for him to be reprogrammed in Stalker program. What happened in ending is different. It is implied, that Regulatory Board, who created project X, is again in control, and after connecting to Noosphere they are able to retrieve any data (spy on all humanity) or control anyone on the planet without STALKER program, making everyone "an Agent". That's why i don't consider it to be a good ending, since while the Zone is gone, everyone loses their free will to the Regulatory Board
@@ЮрийКондратов-р3ш But Scar was reprogrammed second time - in a final cutscene of Clear Sky. And Strelok himself was not affected by TVs despite being programmed previously.
@@Chastity_Belt well, in Clear Sky ending cutscene it is unclear if Scar got into STALKER program for a second time, but in fight against him he makes remarks about knowing how TVs affect him, and you actually have to use TVs to win that fight. The explanation is given by Strelok in cutscene when you meet him and Dark dies from exposure, so those two facts cover each other. As to why Strelok is not affected, i have no idea - for me it remains as unexplained plot hole. Maybe he had some protection, as he probably got the knowledge of this weakness in SIRCAA and had time and ability to prepare
@@Chastity_Belt that is most likely because Scar is special, his nervous system is very good at resisting external threats like Emissions for example, and likely programming as well. He wasn't programmed the first or the second time, but his nervous system suffered for it, and hence why we can weaken him with it during the boss fight.
After getting Strelok's ending without spoilers, I came here to see the other endings. I'm satisfied with my choice. To reach my ending, my thoughts were these: 1. The Ward are a bunch of mercenaries on the payroll of some rich institution with a hidden agenda. 2. The Spark are a bunch of losers who can't handle reality for what it is. 3. The Doctor's ideology is nothing sort of an abomination. Also his slow "rescue" didn't do him any favors. 4. I don't care that Strelok has a "boner" for the Zone. I agree with him that this chaos needs to be contained without any further meddling that could cause an apocalypse or corruption of humanity. Also Skif wanted a new home. The Zone is his new home now! :D
Yea um the zone isn't his home for long as the zone relied on foreign supplies, although they have factories to make guns and ammo they can't make food
He said “more content in the way” and he fucking meant it. Let’s GOOOOOOOO. Jokes aside love everyone of your videos. No matter what you put out I’m here for it
Rewatching this, and something interesting is at the ending of “The Shining Zone” Skif walks out into a field of poppy flowers, which as in another anomaly in the zone of the same name makes stalkers fall asleep. So it’s another indication that Scar was manipulated by the monolith the whole time.
not the monolith, but by c-consciousness. Before the Scar boss fight, we get some dialogues in the TV hall where we learned that Scar is actually an Agent (just like Dark and Strelok) who inherit memories from Marshal, another member of the original Spark like Spirit. This explains his bond with Spark and his hatred toward the Ward since the memories Scar inherit contains the moment when original Spark members (except Spirit) got wiped out by the Ward. It also explains why Scar worshipped the Shining Zone so much because c-conscious made him so to serve them spreading their illusion to everyone. And also explains why Scar is uniquely immune to psi-attack, emissions and zombies As for when Scar got turn into an Agent, it's the end of Clear Sky where he got drag to the TV hall along with Strelok. In fact, during the mission to track down the old Clear Sky base, we can find some PDA there about conversation between Lebedev (Clear Sky leader) and some other scientist about their new batch of Agents and the name Scar was mentioned in it. This line up well with some theory back in STALKER: Clear Sky that the faction Clear Sky (or at least just its leader Lebedev) was working for the C-conscious
Man, as someone who loves the lore and stories of the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R games, I gotta say that the sequel was worth the wait. This is a fitting story to end the series on. Pretty much all the loose ends are tied up, and we get a better understanding of the zone and it’s themes. And it’s all done so well with the voice acting, mocap, and next-gen graphics. Bravo, GSC Game World. Here’s hoping the community will be able to extensively mod this game like the previous games.
The story is hardly ended as there are supposed to be 2 more DLCs after this. Also as per usual GSC has a favorite ending they will choose as cannon in order to be able to move the story forward. I have my pic which one of them is gonna be it, but i think this is just the beginning of the narative.
For Skif's ending, yeah. How the hell was it able to cause so many outbreaks in so many parts of the world? C-Consciousness, theyre all dead. Dont know how, but just suddenly the Zone, which is really a tear in the Noosphere space, is able to make more tears around it?
@@eigelgregossweisse9563 So I think that the whole point of C-consciousness X-7 lab being able to affect the zone and expand it is because the pod skif gets into uses the heart of Chornobyl to amplify his Psi energy so one person can affect what the happens in the noosphere even if the C-consciousness 7/8 scientist are dead. so skif basically asked the noosphere what does the zone want to do and as we see in Faust's cutscene when we "kill" him the zone seems like a nervous system of Psi energy all inter connected. I would assume the Noosphere exsists everywhere on earth and opened the world up to being the same as the zone.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R stands for Scavenger, Trespasser, Adventurer, Loner, Killer, Explorer, Robber which is what the Soviets called people who went to explore the Chernobyl area after reactor 4 went critical
Skif is a one true ending having rejected Ward, Shining and obsessed Strelok. All 3 want control for what they see as best, yet only Skif chooses freedom for the zone.
I think Siff's motivation to even remain in the Zone after SIRCAA is cloudy. He should've taken the payment and left. He entered the Zone because it destroyed his home. Now he's spreading the Zone all over the world? That's not a good ending.
@@Sipso2012a man's motivation can change as he progresses through his journey. A static character is a boring one. His initial goal may just be to get back his home but over the course of the game, he changed his mind. After all, why didn't Joel just give up Ellie to the fireflies at the end of TLOU since that's what he wanted from the start, right?
@@Sipso2012 you never change your mind as you learn more about things you didn't know? It becomes clear that SIRCAA is full of BS and is just using you for their power grab. Whatever they promise you is only because they'll get x100 more. Shining are lunatics and agents of C-consciousness. And Strelok is selfish and obsessed, using us to take over the zone because he got disappointed with life outside of it. Give it more thought.
I do wish there was a side quest line with Duty and Freedom that could ultimately influence Skif’s desires and perceptions of the Zone. Two additional endings with a Zone with no borders and the complete nullification of the Zone would’ve been really cool as well, especially if you agreed with either of faction’s philosophy in the past games.
reaal, Duty and Freedom feel just like a shadow of it's former strenght, they're veery minor in new game :( I feel like there should be a way to side with them too and maybe separately with scientists too or something similar. It also feels a lot like Ward is kind of Duty from old Stalker games and Spark is kind of new current Freedom, idk.
@@victorzekov288 The game definitely has places where it seems things were rushed out the door. I’m happy with what we got all things considered given the circumstances GSC went through during development.

32:05 THANK YOU! I replayed this part about 8 times to watch him fall over those metal bars, almost made my cry every time. That is THE best trip and fall I've ever seen in a game. The mocap is so good, I'd swear it was a blooper they kept in.
Whilst there's a swathe of things I absolutely adore about STALKER, the Zone being such a realistic place "in terms of people" is absolutely one of the best elements. By that I mean I absolutely buy how people in the Zone act, what groups have popped up, their agendas and how the governments and scientists treat it. Why people go there, for what reasons and what they do when they get there. Anything from crime lords going to start up new groups to socially awkward people struggling to fit in with any people and looking for a group. As above, there's plenty that makes STALKER amongst my very favourite franchises but the Zone feels so "real" and "logically illogical" that I can't help but devour it.
I loved stalker 2, the strider end was heartbreaking and it was something that u could believe in, but what happens after that,i thing endgame is fucked storywise, they didn't get enough epic moments, u just destroyed the heart of chernobyl, now the Dalin guy is gone, Dagtayrev is gone as well and u blacked out, cmon, i rly hated that part
Are you planning to buy or gamepass it Soph? Whichever you pick, it will be a bumpy ride. But if you like stalker, you will like the game. The basis is good, it just needs more polish.
@ I like the old games and can put up with their jankier elements, but I want to play this newest one when it’s a bit smoother so I’m giving it more time to cook. Will buy it in a number of months once it has more patches. Im in no rush.
Finished my first playthrough (I did the Skif ending), and I'm starting on my second--the story of this game is so good, and I love all the previous games too.
Hey I selected the noontide at sirca experiment site thinking that the ward is trying to control entire humanity's brain instead of the going beyond solar system explanation. I am little confused here, is scar trying to stop ward from putting the zone to an end? Is the ward trying to end zone for the good?
@@ShivamDuhan-x5d Scar wants the Shining Zone--which he thinks is a real place, but is actually just a mind prison. Your "immortality" is bullshit, and you'll basically die in the real world. Noontide wants to stop SIRCAA from using the Wish Granter or anything even remotely close to it, because it will bring back the Monolith (which it did). The Ward wants to eradicate the Zone; their ending shows you that they actually want to control people (IMO it's the worst after the Scar ending). The Skif ending, IMO, is the best one simply because it pretty much lets the Zone decide its fate for itself.
@ yeah I’m currently in swamps but it took me a while to figure out how to play the game effectively and how everything works and now that I actually have a real grip on things I want a recap of everything up until where I’m at so I can follow the story properly in game onwards 😂
when we first see the Doctor he is young looking and wearing a green sweater. when we see him at the end of the game, he is older with white hair and a leather jacket like his OG look, and then turns into Faust. very strange
i was rather disappointed, no good ending and with how giant the map is they didnt do what they did in pripyat and give people the choice to free roam once the story was complete
The Endings I question is the lock and the Doc's. Sterlock wants the zone untampered by outside Force's which is fine I guess but it seems like he's willing to obliterate or trap everyone in the zone forever and the Doc's version pretty much creates a world wide apocalypse in a Sense. Like both have clear goals but I wonder the value and loyalty of the zone. All it really seems to want is to kill and poison things within it so I really don't get there love of it.
Tldr: The Zone is just a breach in the Noosphere like the hole in the ozone layer. the radiation is just because of it being located in the irl chernobyl exlusion zone, the anomalies are basically noosphere manifestations of human fears and the mutants are either from experimentation or just accelerated mutation from radiation and noospheric Psy-radiation. strelok is just tripping from all his time in it
@BeefMeisterSupreme there's certain things I do question because freedom and spark paint the zone as this beautiful and wonderful place. But the top export seems to be corpses and nightmares. Sure there's the artifacts but from what I understand they don't work outside the zone itself. And the vast majority have some kind of Monkey's paw effect in the first place to where I don't really see the value even if they functioned. Like if they're was an artifact that slowed aging provided limitless power or merely touching it could cure cancer I'd see the value of this place. But honestly the just seems like a place to pre book a horrific and early Death.
@calamityhex3729 basically spark and freedom value well freedom above all else, and sure the zone is dangerous and every artifact has its downsides, but so does almost every medication. Basically my point is that the zone is just another place with unique dangers and resources and that stalkers are basically gold prospectors. Also there are devices that allow you to use the artifacts without their downsides.
I keep getting interrupted when I try to play so I had no clue what was happening with the story. This video was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
Such helpful videos. I feel like everytime i jump on there are 20 new names i have to remember so aa someone new to this franchise this is more than helpful
Thats for the video. I just finished the game today and had to look up a story explanation cause I mostly had no idea wtf was going on, especially towards the end 😅
Jfc. I really wish a lot of my cutscenes worked. All the segments that show him looking at TVs talking to people didnt work, the part atop the Duga with Faust didnt work, the visions didnt work. =/
strelok ending is the best , he says that no one can leave or enter the zone , so many people say that this means that all stalkers and others in the zone are going to die. sure maybe but thats only like what 3000pl at best , and what is strelok got the power to control zones time so nothing is going to change much or even if he listens to stalkers he may let others that want to join the zone if they just want to be a part of it and not change it , and also new stalkers could bring guns ammo food etc , also i dont remember if its 100% true but everybody that has spend time in the zone cant real leave to normal world bcs they got like a part of the zone with them that means that they would fuck up the world outside the zone if they leave . and other ending are just bad , scar is just close version to drug addicts , skif just gave the world aids , ward is just going to control the world, so there is nothing better than our boy strelok in this scenario.
For me, Ward is best ending. It ends the zone and also kept the promise to skif for a new home. Strelok ending shows actually that everything is indeed an illusion and theres no life after death just simulation.
I took strelok's ending as more him blocking off everyone so everyone eventually dies so I kinda hated it, but it did make sense to stop everyone from tampering with the zone and the rest of the worlds influence on it and vice versa
This is kinda supported by him seeing zone as a "her" and protecting her from everyone. Even though the zone isnt sentient but the events in it are caused by its inhabitants. His character got done dirty in this game tbh. Maybe this change could be explained with the c consciousness agent brainwashing like Scar but it already happened by the time of SoC events compared to Scar in CS
@@goxy287 I wonder if the pronoun is just a translation oversight. In Ukrainian, nouns are gendered, like in German or French, and the zone is a "she". I didn't like his ending, seems too cliche. The guy who killed the scientists in the pod, or so we are told, then ends up in the pod. However, the doctor's ending contradicts this legend, as it shows that the doctor caused the explosion (but there was a figure entering the room when he shot the device, who was that? Strelok?). It's all still really confusing. I wonder if there is a hidden ending locked behind some sidequests.
Well, it's 4:27 and you already skip remarking some certain characters. The sniper in the tower maybe scar and that guy who didn't kill skif was nimble from previous ones.
He turned everyone into a zombie, a good reference would be Madarra from Naruto, the plans are basically identical, put everyone into a sweet dream thinking it’s salvation but it’s just a prison portrayed as a paradise, worse ending fs
@@iCanHazTwentyLetters appearntly he went insane after the ending of Clear Sky and somehow got involved with a faction called Spark doing some major shit that we never see or hear about in SoC or CoP somehow. Feels like he is in this game for fanservice/so that we have an actuall cannon as to wtf happened to him.
@@noobguy9973 the guys he mentions in one of his dialogues were Topol, Spirit, Snake and Mace. They were stalkers in CoP who worked for the scientists at the Jupiter mobile lab near Yaniv. If you helped them and did research quests for them when playing CoP their questline would conclude in them naming their team Iskra (Spark), which has evolved into a full faction due to Scar's involvement during the years between CoP and S2. Or at least Scar says so, but his memories were probably swapped with another stalker's when he was brainwashed by C-Conciousness after the failed assault ob CNPP. So he might have never been involved directly, but his memories told him otherwise since they were not his, and he built the faction based on them.
40:40 I've done 3 playthroughs of STALKER 2 and every time I get to the part with Spirit, he's always mortally wounded. How did you find him alive and unharmed??
@Gingy I dont know if you'll ever see this but I am not sure if you have played the A Plague Tale games they are stunningly amazing and emotional I would like a lore video about the 2 games from you. Love your work!
Such a good game. I absolutely loved the story. But i dont know whats next. I mean they plan 2 DLCs for the game. That is going to be an interesting one and how it will work, because once you finish the storyline you cant continue to wander around the zone freely. So iam assuming the DLCs will take place a little bit back in time. Maybe before Shadow Of Chernobyl and Clear Sky? That would be nice. I can actually imagine the 1st DLC would be about the war between the 2 factions, Freedom and Duty and the entire story would be around it. Who created them, and you as a loner have to choose one. Either Freedom or Duty and you would get a completely different story but with the same endings. The treaty between these 2. Or a DLC when you play as Richter. And the story would be how he ended up in the zone, and how he ended up as a Guide. Or a complete new story, which takes place before Shadow Of Chernobyl or Call Of Pripyat.
As I played through S2, I recalled the over 900 hours I've put into the previous games... Always dug Call of Pripyat the most as I liked Deggy. But, I made a choice as soon as I saw him that I would follow Strelok - he was the first person we played as - so it seemed fitting that the game ends with his ending. I'm not sure if it was the 'best choice', but it felt like a satisfying end.
XD ı was thinking like ''I would follow Strelok to anywhere'' however the constant technical issues the game give me along with the input latency/lag made me really annoyed by the end so when ı saw the choice ı just knew there would be Strelok boss fight so ı was like ''mehhh f*ck it ı like a decent boss fight'' so ı went with Skiff ending. I didn't do it for the lore or story of this franchise ı love so much but simply to have an extra boss fight :P it was kinda disappointing though just try to find him via the compass and gauss rifle him till you win, Scar was even less fun waiting for his fatass to come to the right position to enable the TVs.
I had to come here after the Skif ending because I was so curious about how the other endings go. In the end, I'm content with my choice. Of all the endings, it seems as the most "pleasant" one.
I know it's a random comment and shot in the dark but I thought it would be a great idea to introduce another Metroidvania that has been close to the magic of Blasphemous. It's in a Chinese Cyberpunk universe, and it goes by the name of Nine Sols Strongly suggested, do give it a look at some point, Gingy
Yup as the other comment said. Some core devs of GSC World (Stalker) left and created 4A games (Metro). Many people saw Metro as the successor to Stalker as the series last game was in 2009 and Metro started in 2010. So it’s like they picked up where they left off so to speak.
My man, i am curious if you cover Kenshi one day. Pretty neat little game mostly developed by single person i would say it can be interesting for you lore wise.

Too soon brother, most of us are still waiting for a few patches haha ;) Hopefully the video will get along tail of views! I'll check back in a few months.
I sided with Strelok (before Red Fortress) but the game did not explain what the 8th Pod is about, I were just given the objectives as if I knew what I was supposed to do. Is this a bug or did I miss some dialogue?
Fun fact, I had the ward ending and swapped my suit which was missing lead containers so my radiation goes up, after the cutscene I actually died from radiation during the credits HAHA
I played through this game earlyer and managed to get the zone for everyone rnding and was just a bit confused to the ending because, has the doctor in stalker 2 always been Faust? Seems like he was. But what does this ending mean? Its supposed to be the zone for everyone but faust still lives and is affecting the natural selection in the zone, basically undoing that ending at the same time with his healing of everyonf and everything

@@ЮрийКондратов-р3ш strelok was not an agent, because his programming was failed. Asking strelok to kill strelok caused some sort of bug.

This was a QUICK upload. Thanks for all the great content.
And also explains why Scar is uniquely immune to psi-attack, emissions and zombies
As for when Scar got turn into an Agent, it's the end of Clear Sky where he got drag to the TV hall along with Strelok.
Scar died at the end of Clear Sky. His monolith-esque husk got implanted with Marshall's memories.
I was so hoping for a complete STALKER breakdown by you. Can't wait for the vid!
I love how we all threw bolts at Dalin in SIRCAA
Oh it definitely did not end. It opens up the room for a new Stalker Universe.
Funny you said you like the original and lore then, cuz 2 completely breaks and shits all over it
For Skif's ending, yeah.
On the other hand, isn't the implication that Skif was tricked by Faust, since the "Doctor" was actually him all along?
Maybe, except... If Faust was the Doctor all along, doesn't that imply he was the one who really won?
I do wish there was a side quest line with Duty and Freedom that could ultimately influence Skif’s desires and perceptions of the Zone.
Two additional endings with a Zone with no borders and the complete nullification of the Zone would’ve been really cool as well, especially if you agreed with either of faction’s philosophy in the past games.
For real
reaal, Duty and Freedom feel just like a shadow of it's former strenght, they're veery minor in new game :( I feel like there should be a way to side with them too and maybe separately with scientists too or something similar. It also feels a lot like Ward is kind of Duty from old Stalker games and Spark is kind of new current Freedom, idk.
I imagine this will be DLC for later.
A lot of faction material seems "cut"
@@victorzekov288 The game definitely has places where it seems things were rushed out the door.

@@BeefMeisterSupreme Ok well that's something.

strelok ending is the best , he says that no one can leave or enter the zone , so many people say that this means that all stalkers and others in the zone are going to die. sure maybe but thats only like what 3000pl at best , and what is strelok got the power to control zones time so nothing is going to change much or even if he listens to stalkers he may let others that want to join the zone if they just want to be a part of it and not change it , and also new stalkers could bring guns ammo food etc , also i dont remember if its 100% true but everybody that has spend time in the zone cant real leave to normal world bcs they got like a part of the zone with them that means that they would fuck up the world outside the zone if they leave . and other ending are just bad , scar is just close version to drug addicts , skif just gave the world aids , ward is just going to control the world, so there is nothing better than our boy strelok in this scenario.
For me, Ward is best ending. It ends the zone and also kept the promise to skif for a new home. Strelok ending shows actually that everything is indeed an illusion and theres no life after death just simulation.
@Music96able nah you trolling 🤡
"skif gave the world aids" xddd

As some one played all four games and the... Fan mod one. You got most of it right. Nice video too man
I took strelok's ending as more him blocking off everyone so everyone eventually dies so I kinda hated it, but it did make sense to stop everyone from tampering with the zone and the rest of the worlds influence on it and vice versa
Basically Degtyarev the only sane one for real, they should've included some ending with him or something. Some slightly less shitty outcome
I wonder if there is a hidden ending locked behind some sidequests.
its korshunov
there's literally a closeup of his face
@@antochs ah, I see. But then what about the story of Strelok killing all of the scientists?
Well, it's 4:27 and you already skip remarking some certain characters. The sniper in the tower maybe scar and that guy who didn't kill skif was nimble from previous ones.
I still don't understand the Scar ending. What did Scar actually do other than turning Skif into a zombie?
He turned everyone into a zombie, a good reference would be Madarra from Naruto, the plans are basically identical, put everyone into a sweet dream thinking it’s salvation but it’s just a prison portrayed as a paradise, worse ending fs
@@egordon7543 Hm, interesting. What does it achieve for Scar though? Just evil?

@Gingy I dont know if you'll ever see this but I am not sure if you have played the A Plague Tale games they are stunningly amazing and emotional I would like a lore video about the 2 games from you. Love your work!
i thought faust at the end is not real faust but zone manifested as him talking to player
I thought the Dr was dead a faust was is an illusion of him hence why the Dr psi dog is locked in a cage .
Dont expect much from the DLCs when the main game has so much cut content to it. Lots of holes throughout the game

Kind of, the metro devs splintered off from the stalker dev team
Yup as the other comment said. Some core devs of GSC World (Stalker) left and created 4A games (Metro). Many people saw Metro as the successor to Stalker as the series last game was in 2009 and Metro started in 2010. So it’s like they picked up where they left off so to speak.
