Don't forget to pick up Alan Wake 2 during the Black Friday Sale at cherrypick.gg/aw2_blackfriday_gingy and experience the full story now! @remedygames #EpicPartner #AlanWake
It’s interesting. In Control when you have a chance to talk to Jesse’s brother, Dylan. He will tell you about dreams that he has. In one of the dreams he mentions he’s in a dark place, talking to a man called Mr. Door. The man tells him there are many worlds, some on top of each other, some side by side. Such a cool detail.
@ yeah I’d recommend it. The powers the mc makes the gameplay faster paced and exciting compared to Alan Wake. Took me 33 hours to beat the base game and the Alan Wake DLC.
@@d0peytuba663 I got it off PS+, but it is pretty great! The gameplay is a solid third-person action with decent set prices for the character to move around in. The story took a bit, but really drew me in to where I was reading all the little side memos and trying to absorb as much as I could. So that's a yes from me as well.
@d0peytuba663 definitely I beat it on ps4 where it was real choppy when alot was going on an I still loved it😂 and the ps5 version fixed the issue, couldn't get my favorite outfit on the 5 version though
Welcome! Welcome! Welcome. Our Guest tonight is Alan Wake. This time we wanted to do something a little different. A deep dive into who he is, as an artist and as a man, where he comes from, where he draws his inspiration, what demons he wrestles with in the dark hours of the night. Together with our house band, the DIVINE Old Gods of Asgard, we have created something very special. The song is called The Herald of Darkness, but I like to call this next section the story of the journey of Alan Wake THE MUSICAL. We just do what we always do, we’ll chat, but instead of talking, WEEEEEEE’LLLL SING IT!
Your momma directed me to your channel and I just wanted to tell you I absolutely adored her and I need the recipe for the dill cheese ball you're making for dinner tomorrow😭 happy Thanksgiving and I gave ya a follow bc you're mommas a gem✨️
Wonderful video! Despite playing through all the games multiple times, this video really puts the pieces in place. For anyone who has yet to play Control, it's one of my all-time favorite games. A rich, detailed world with fun-as-hell gameplay. It'll make you want to binge watch X-Files afterward for some reason. Maybe because something's in the coffee?
I have a theory on Ahti, even though his name is directly same as God of the Sea in Finnish mythology. Him being old man and appearing in different games from Remedy he'd might really be Ukko Ylijumala, as ukko can be either name (Ukko) or old finnish word for "old man" (ukko). In Finnish mythology Ukko Ylijumala being similar character to Odin allfather in Norse mythology. And knowing how much Ahti does and understands in Control and AW2 and knowing how some finnish companies/directors tend to sink references to finland/finnish history/mythology on their stuff I don't think it might be that far fetched. Or then it's really far fetched as theories usually can be.
I've seen gaming Harry's and myfavoritesons break down of the story and yours is the most digestible to a person that hasn't played the games yet, Bravo. Just picked up control and the deluxe because of you three, keep up the great work
Thanks for that! I like these overviews, even though I’ve been replaying Control so that I can better replay Alan Wake II…. And then go back for another Quantum Break and Alan Wake Remastered playthrough. And Max Payne 1 + 2, if I’m honest. 😅
Does anyone else agree that the old folks home was the scariest part of sagas story. Maybe I just hate spooky old people in a dingy haunted home but still, fuckin spooky!!
I've never played these games, they didn't sound up my street, so I'm not really interested in playing them and figured I'd watch this to get the gist of it all. I'm far more confused now than I was when I knew nothing. 😂
Like Donny Darko, I think hidden Easter eggs and a jigsaw puzzle of clues don't make for a great story. If you like that sort of stuff, you'll love this story. Finding hidden secrets. But when it comes to pure story mechanics, I find the Alan Wake to be on the weaker side.
Doctor Darling created all of this. He created Alan Wake with information he knew. Well, he created him and he always existed. Doctor Darling is the key here. Everything is stemming from Doctor Darling searching for an escape. Darling believed time was wonky so it was. He is creating the self contained super structure Alan ranted about. The Demiurge. The Demon. The Dark Place wasn't evil at first. Doctor Darling was happy there. Doctor Darling created Thomas Zane in insanity. They both used the information on AWE, New York, and a parautlitarian author to write the story out. Doctor Darling created Alan based on what he already knew about Alan as part of the spiral.
Logan should died. That's just the sacrifice that needed to happen for impact, as well as to keep Saga inclined to fight the Dark Presence. Saga will seek revenge for the death of her daughter, rathan than a stupid reason like "I have to." or "it's the right thing to do." Once the story was over for her, she would have no reason to continue to risk her or her daughters life by fighting the DP. But vengeance, or even having nothing left to lose if her husband died as well, makes for good reason in a fight against a godlike entity.
I am struggling to continue playing Alan Wake beyond the gas station. I bought the remastered version because I've heard great things of Alan Wake 2. But I haven't found the story of the first part so far that appealing or that scary, and it doesn't help that the gameplay feels rather clunky. Has anyone else experienced this? I need some motivation, lol. Or should I just skip to AW2?
AW is definitly a "2010's" game if you know what I mean, a bit clunky yes, but the world that the Remedy games build in my opinion pays off. But if you *absolutely* can't get pass the first game, I guess you can just look up the story and go to Control or AW2, I wouldn't recommend it tho but it's totally an option. What I consider a total "MUST NOT DO" is skipping the story of AW1 and jump to AW2, because you need the context at the very least.
I'll say it I think its lame logan survived in the final draft ending Saga literally lost nothing throughout the story and broke the rules set up in Alan wake 1 I like Alan wake 2 but the ending sucks Also hate saga's racist line that didnt need to be in the game 😑
What I learned from these two games about the man named Alan Wake is that he is an asshole who likes to play as God. He admits in the end that he was a bad guy all this time and wants to fix all of this, he did this after his wife sacrificed herself. So, he is the true antagonist of this game, without him all of this would never have happened. If he wants redemption, he must write the story that he never existed.
Of course it's sponsored, he can't talk about how they fucked up the continuity by making Saga Black. If anyone follows the series like I have, Saga is a White Swedish woman from Quantum Break, which is why it makes no sense why Saga's entire family line are of Swedish decent in AW2. Though the actress did well in the part, every time the story focused on her family line, it broke my immersion.
Okay ill do the shit joke . It started as alan wake. Then he had a nightmare. Then it became alan woke and turned to shit. But ys 2 is hot trash and its a shame cause i loved 1 and the dlcs
Never played them, but interested nonetheless. Saving vid for bed time. I've always been interested in what these games were about. I heard the first one was great. Hopefully, there's no pronouns , so I can pick them up for the holidays.
They'll tell you "Mr. Door" is the father. A black deadbeat father, really fighting the stereotypes. But in Quantum Break she was white, so they black washed the character for inclusivity.

Remedy Entertainment itself recommended this video, so it must be interesting!
So, technically, it is `The self-pity trip of #StephenKing in pseudo-psychological terms´ ? Not entertaining at all.
Thank you, I waited and I bought it with the reduced price at the end of year 2024 sales and I had a great time during this holiday 😊
Gingy : "with me so far?"
me : "..nn..no?"
Gingy : "great."
Have I already watched the Alan wake videos separately multiple times? Perhaps. Am I going to watch them all again in this video? You bet I am
17:19 Missed opportunity. I had fully expected you to say “as Alan wakes” 😂
Absolutely loved these games, thank you for covering them.
The music around these games are amazing.
Just finished Arcane and a new Gingy drop, life is amazing rn

Is it worth playing rn cause I have it

So Alan…you are finally awake
Got caught trying to cross into the dark place, same as us, and that FBI agent over there
Rise and shine mr Alan. Rise and...shine
@ Doctor Hugo Strange! I should have known you were behind this! What do you want?
You just crossed the border..
Once more the oceans a lake.
So alike a land awake
This story is next level.

Hell yea, Gingy uploaded!
AAAhh... M-m-my brain hurts so much! I like it💚
I know what I'm watching tonight!!!
I can only watch half this video as I haven’t played Alan Wake 2 yet, but you have my view and engagement until that point. Keep being awesome. ❤
read my mind, just picked up 2 after not being able to get through 1 and wanted a solid summary!
Thanks for that! I like these overviews, even though I’ve been replaying Control so that I can better replay Alan Wake II…. And then go back for another Quantum Break and Alan Wake Remastered playthrough. And Max Payne 1 + 2, if I’m honest. 😅

I yet to hear anyone say that Alice didn’t fake her death, but Alan wrote it that way.
Max payne has the best facial expression.
I've never played these games, they didn't sound up my street, so I'm not really interested in playing them and figured I'd watch this to get the gist of it all.
I'm far more confused now than I was when I knew nothing. 😂
Weird I could swear I already watched this
Bro is a skill between this and valegaurd
the dark place can't create anything out of nothing. How can the dark place then create an evil Alan? I still don't understand that to this day
“You can’t just start a story from ‘scratch’” hehe I see what you did there 😉
Like Donny Darko, I think hidden Easter eggs and a jigsaw puzzle of clues don't make for a great story. If you like that sort of stuff, you'll love this story. Finding hidden secrets.
But when it comes to pure story mechanics, I find the Alan Wake to be on the weaker side.
Would love to see you try your hand at Kingdom Hearts (but secretly just want you to do Sly Cooper)
Great watch
Maybe Thomas Zane and Alan Wake look alike, because Thomas created Alan and modelled him after himself.🤔
EVEN the darkness will be sick if it sees the modern art industry.
New video to sleep to!
Imagine if Bioware writers got stuck in the Dark Place..
It’s the guy from Fortnite
Im going to touch you.
Im mad i missed that skin
New video! Let's go
4 videos in 1 month i'm impressed
Kind of hoping you'll eventually do Max Payne

Another upload!
Who would you say is more powerful between Alan and Jessie

Please, do ico trilogy.
Can you make a video on shadow of the colossal and the last guardian
How long until you cover Days Gone?
This shit is more confusing than Dark
LETS FUCKING GO
so alan is going through a roguelite and not a roguelike?
❤❤❤
If they was to make movie.. Jake Gyllenhaal would be a good cast for alan
Or they could cast Ilkka Villi, the actor who is literally the face of Alan Wake.
LETS GOOOOOO
Hi yo
Control?
YESSSSSSS
U need emotion in your video’s dont be robotic ❤️
Epic games can piss off
I'll say it I think its lame logan survived in the final draft ending
Saga literally lost nothing throughout the story and broke the rules set up in Alan wake 1

I have played the old Alan Wake games. I was ready to jump right in!
So why am I playing an obnoxious female FBI agent?
No Alan, no sell.
DEI ruined yet another game 😂
You guys are so dumb 😂
These guys and their mediocre conspiracies
