The little piece in the bag that you didn't know about is a spacer block for if you want to take off the wheelie bar. The spacer block goes in its place by the lower rear skid plate.
Awesome. I bought the XRT 8 months ago, the orange one, And I love it. Bought the gravix tires for it recently because the stock ones glue jobs sucked 😂 The blue body on this thing is beautiful! People are gonna hate. But that’s their right to have their own opinions. I’ve never had any problems with anything traxxas I’ve ever bought. Past or present. And I started buying traxxas way back in 1997 when I bought the nitro sport from my LHS. I also own some Arrma, Team Losi, and even the blackzon slyder, and love em all. The hobby’s supposed to be about what makes you happy. And that XMaxx would definitely make me happy! 🤩 Enjoy it, Mark!
To until now, I would have agreed 100% that the X-MAXX is the "baddest" RC available (well, at least for surface vehicles, as I'm not including boats as 'vehicles')...it's definitely the "baddest" in my current collection of operational vehicles. Now, the reason I specify 'operational' is because I'm currently building a Kraken RC VESLA.5 SBK...and, it has the possibility to supplant the X-MAXX as my "baddest" RC vehicle.
Just got mine a few days ago! Got it used for $850 with a dual charger and two batteries… all of which are BRAND new. Bottom of the chassis/arms had 0 scuffs, the diff cups were perfect, body had no damage… thing is MINT. Guy said he wanted to sell it bc he got an XRT and liked it more, fine by me! 🤩 Never EVER use self right and vent your tires. your drivetrain/tires will last 100x longer and you’ll save a ton of time (not) glueing tires
@@curbscrape8343 XRT is an awesome truck, if you like the Xmaxx you will be just as happy with the XRT maybe even a little more, XRT does handle better, you can slide or drift more on asphalt or concrete without flipping over, where the Xmaxx is a little tougher to drive on hard surfaces!!!! I also vent all my tires immediately. It seems to help them balloon less and makes them more balanced….or at least they balloon more evenly so you don’t get so much pizza cutter action going on.
i know you dont really upgrade the power on your rc cars, but an xmaxx with the big block motor is blast got a few vids on my channel pulls wheelies at 50+
The sledgehammer tires are 8.4 inches in diameter. The old maxx AT tires were 8.0 inches in diameter. The real issue with the maxx AT and the gravix are that they’re too small for the wheel diameter. The foam ends up snapping and then the clump ends up busting the tire eventually. The sledgehammers have what I believe is enough sidewall and foam thickness to avoid that. I can’t say that with absolute confidence though as I do not own them myself. I have two sets of the old duratrax six packs and one set of the new warthogs. Both are much more adequate. My original set of six packs that are like 2.5 years old still work, though they have needed a couple sets of re gluing. Same for the set I bought with my xrt, one blew out due to inadequate glue. Foam did get destroyed but I had a spare from a cracked wheel so I’m taking the wheel from the dead one and glueing it to the good tire and foam. Warthogs haven’t done anything yet but have much less use. They will probably need glue at some point.
I just bought the same exact truck did some run and posted it on here , I think the belted sledge hammers are to much for the suck gears I blew the gears on mine in the third run , but I love the truck

If you lock the diffs you will never have a tire explode. I bought the 6s when XMAXX first released and now its a 8s as if u bought it out of the box 8s. People talk bad about all rc cars not understanding that things will break. Atleast traxxas takes the feedback and puts out new trucks and replacement parts to fix the issues the learn about..
Xmax is 1100 bucks plus 200 for batteries. For 1300 bucks I could buy 3-5 1/10th MTs. While amazing I’m having a hard time justifying the numbers. Plus its size means unless you have land or have a space close to parking, bringing somewhere could be challenging.
