- In this video i'm going to show you everything you need to know to land a kickflip in only a few minutes.
Check out some of my other kickflip videos:

A couple little things that helped me start landing these more consistently was to keep pressure on my toes, really focus on popping well, and lean back toward the heel side of the board just a little bit after you pop. It really lets you see the board rotate and I found that it helps me not catch the grip too much and flick my board out in front of me. Keep a solid amount of weight on that front foot and don’t forget to pick up your back foot as soon as you pop. The trickiest part was probably committing to landing with both feet on the board. Good luck and don’t give up!
Great advice! Thanks for taking the time to give some helpful info. I’m sure it will help some people out.
Popping good is what screws me up because its an unatural motion to kick down but jump up off something that doesnt help your spring at all its all on you
Finally a kickflip tutorial that also shows some beginner/intermediate skaters 😊 and girls.
So glad I came across your channel!!! My son and I just started trying kickflips (without much success). Can’t wait to try again applying the concepts from this video
This is such a better description than the other billion of Kflips tutorials I have watched. Thanks and I'm going to learn them this year now!
I hope you do! Tried to keep this one short and sweet I’m glad it is helpful.
I kept getting stuck on the one practice step you see on Braille and other channels about standing still and just sliding your foot up and flicking over and over. This video helped something click in my brain to where now I can easily flip the board without having my front foot going straight down. The way I interpret this video is that having that front ankle "flush" (for lack of a better word) with the board as it makes its way up from the pop really cuts down on the amount of movement that is required. I started paying attention to the point where my ankle felt "parallel" (I need a dictionary) to the board and then just sent out a small ankle flick that would produce a nice spin each time while my front foot was still in the air. That almost upwards motion of the ankle flick is what keeps my front foot up. The sliding the foot over and over made me feel like I needed to extend my front leg really far like a karate kick. I feel like that is probably still the right way to get really solid kickflips, but the info at 2:48 really helped me once I marinated on it. Thanks for the help!
Great tip! One thing that really helped me learn kickflips properly was making sure my shoulders stayed fully square with the board throughout the whole trick. When i started doing that properly my front foot really started gripping to the slide up the board which helped get them a lot higher.
Also you have a very beautiful kickflip!
Literally one of the best Tutorials ever very in depth and detailed and explained in a way where even someone who is just beginning could understand…. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into you’re videos it’s helped me and so many others out there
love these videos! you have a nice editing style! I hope to see more. Your tricks are so clean
Thanks for swinging by and leaving a comment. Editing these is always a lot of fun. Maybe we could make a video together one day.
The two youtubers from whom I've learned how to skateboard
ikr@@ginamura
Great vid dude, I think this is the only video I’ve seen where you specifically say you have to WAIT until you do the flick, not flick straight away. For me the feeling is like waiting until my head is over the front of the board before the flick.
A few things that helped me out a *lot* when I relearned kickflips (after not doing them for 20 years lol)
- Like Skidish said, wait until you pop before you flick!
- Jump back juuuuust a little bit. This helped greatly with my front foot
- Be patient when you're in the air over the board.
- Keep your backfoot at least in the same line as it was when you popped.
- Jump higher, let the board get more vertical before you flick, and tuck your back knees in when you're going for bigger flips.
It was magic to me watching the board rise and spin. It was just too quick of a motion to actually catch the technique... this was sooooo helpful. Thx!
Bro I’ve been struggling so bad ant advice?
Kickflips are so fun but also a huuuge challenge to learn. Learning how to commit and put both feet back on the board was the hardest thing for me mentally. Just gotta trust yourself 😊
The way you flick your kickflips is pristine.
Just found your channel, thank you, the way you explain and show things is really helpful to me. Hope you start making videos again/more often, even for basic things like ollie and top 5 initial tricks :-)
Duuuuuuude! I discovered the waiting to flick bit by accident today! Soooo helpful! Haven't seen other people mention it.
He's back!!! It's time to skate ! Your tutorials help so much!!!
babe wake up skidish skateboarding posted
Haha This one made me laugh
That nose man. at the end was dope
The nose of the board? It’s an FA they do have a really big nose.
Bro I remember seeing your videos a few years ago and commenting thinking that you needed way more attention and you got it bro congrats on 80k 🎉
Thanks! never thought it would get to 80k but im glad to have helped so manny and I have learned a lot in the process. Thank you for sticking around
I will try a kick flip and will post my fail kickflip so that i can learn from my mistakes. Thanks for the tip Mate !
this video was posted right when i figured out im ready to learn kickflips, it's like a message from the skateboard gods telling me i'm worthy enough
Haha yes, you are worthy.
Binge watching your channel, I dig the way you format🤙🏼😎
Struggling with flip trix, Ollie’s are good on and off curbs, but I’m not squatting enough, working on muscle memory
Love a good Kickflip
Can you do a laserflip tutorial
I've found that if I just focus hard on where my front foot is going it helps my flick a lot
Just started getting consistent, what helped it all click was
Wait to hear the board pop
Make sure sure you bring your knee up on your back leg
A nice Video! Explained pretty good what to do! Thank you - :)
Loved your video mate. Do you do skate vlogs? If not, o think that'd be a great way to expand your audience, i think people would really enjoy them!
im 26 and will start skateboarding, thanks for good content
never late to start, started at 18 myself, now I'm 23 and having a lot of fun learning nollie/switch tricks. Can't live my life without a skateboard now!
This channel will blow up eventually
Around 2:52, you talk about curling the ankle inward. I struggle with this a lot. Any tips or exercises I can do in order to improve?!?! I didn’t notice how much I struggle with this until watching this video
finally a video from goofy. all this video from regular i cant relate 😢😭😭
Haha i'm glad to help
Welcome back Sir.
Still just a heelfliper.
I'm going to try to learn this trick, I've tried before and failed miserably but I'm going to try again and land it.

HES BACK!!!
How’s it going old friend?
@@Skiddyskates Really missed you
My problem with kickflips is that im always landing before the board and cant get the flick consistently
i’ve been skateboarding for around two months and i slide my front foot forward too early on ollie’s every time. its become a habit. what should i do to teach myself to slide later
Bro now that you back we need grind tricks
can you do a video on how to fs heel and nollie heel ?
When I was younger I could only do a kick flip body varial. Idk why. I could never get the regular one down.
I’m gonna get the kick flip I’m gonna get it it will be MINEEEE
That’s what I’m talking about. Let me know when you get it!
When I try to do these my sliding foot goes backwards and on the ground instantly my pop foot goes forward and my board turns to left and doesn’t rotate all the way
can we learn muska flip next please?
Hello thx u
Frontside heelflip soon?
Really Good Man
I wish my A.I. body would allow me to perform such actions...
Short and sweet. What’s the next video?
I'm going to land it now thanks skidish
Please help. I always land with my back foot. The front one lands very quickly on the floor while the board is still flipping. I tried almost everything and can’t get it done.
thx man
Insane!
Thanks for always showing support 😀
@@Skiddyskates You're Welcome!
Where you been?
Great content. We need more!
Rodney Mullen is the skate God.

I cant get a good flick. It doesnt fully rotate. Any tips?
also try flicking after a slight time after the pop
Bro I have my Kickflips consistently but everytime I keep landing with my back foot only
Nice one!
I’ll purchase merch if this will help me kickflip
haha how did it go?
Does anyone know which ardidas he’s wearing???
They are called “matchbreak super” I love em
why did you stop posting
I’m working on a video now. I’ll be back soon.
Finally. Goofy trick tips!
Ignore the 3 steps and do all the steps in one like a karate kick,I think the steps is whats confusing people because its not 3 steps its 1 step with 3 things you do(spring, flick, high crouch)
listen i need help i need a skate board i love skateboarding but i cant get one i live in pakistan
There is no way to get one?
not yet
Don’t learn to catch with your back foot. I did that and now I can’t catch with both my feet. Or my front foot. Ik im doing the flick wrong but landing on my back foot started that bad habit
don't catch with your back foot? This is interesting
Instructions unclear I did a 360 flip and landed 😤
0:10
Fake
Honestly man, even though I have landed kick flips, fs shuvs, and half cabs and what not, I’ve realized I’m never going to improve with the poor quality of my Ollie’s. Would you consider doing a straight up regular old Ollie tutorial?
Ollie?????????
