This really helped me a lot. I feel like people don’t really focus on the pre flick and that’s what made it all click for me.Thanks a lot keep doing what your doing 👍🏽
@@Skiddyskates So basically the pre-flick is bending your front foot ankle and pushing your knee kind of out or up so the front foot can start to drag the board? That might be what is missing with mine, aside from how my timing seems off. I seem to flick late and not have time to retract my front foot to land or something. But ironically, with my varial kickflip attempts I didn't have that problem and my flick extended quite a bit off of the board. But I think it should be a continuous motion, because that's what made me land varial kickflips on grass too.
I love that you're goofy-footed too. There's not a lot of people on yt that teach tricks that are goofy and I'm goofy-footed so it makes it easier for me when I watch ur tutorials. Thanks!

Awesome comment. I'm glad these videos are helping you. I'm also 33 and kind of in the same boat with a lot of my peers. I made this channel mainly because skateboarding helped me through my life and I wanted to give back to the skate community.
Solid video. One of the best I have watch on kickflips and I have watched a lot. I learned heelflips first but haven't even started my kickflip battle but I know it will start soon. It is the natural next step.
Jumping and commuting to hovering over my board is what I need to work on. Hovering over the board I knew was an issue but the jumping high enough was something no one really breaks down as a problem in other tutorials. Seems like a no brained step but easily overlooked. Thanks
As a 27 year old that just got my first deck in like 12-13 years. Built it up and and was able to ollie and pop shuvit within 20 minutes. Totally like riding a bike, I feel blessed to be able to go in my pocket and search up tutorials to help learn tricks. I used to brainstorm ideas with my cousin and use videogames as a basis for technique 😂
+Adham Khaled that’s really high! I’ve seen people land kickflips that can’t ollie 1 board. Keep trying. I’m sure you will get it. Usually as soon as you realize what you are doing wrong you land it immediately. It will click if you keep trying.
Hey skidish skateboarding I was wondering if u can give me a few tips on my kickflips I can land them but they are mobed I have been doing them like that for about four years and I can’t seem to get my front foot to flick up if u read this please help out😀
A solid Varial flip. For me, the skateboard spins perfectly, but I can't catch it because I always go wrong. It is the same for many in the skate park.
Thanks for this video man. Ive watched plenty of videos on kickflipping before this but i can safely say this video is the one that made everything click for me and help me land it :)

Woah I didn’t know I had to twist my ankle inwards. That probably has to do with the fact that I only tried kickflip a few times. I’m learning the heelflip first :)
This might be happening because you are not allowing the board to pop before you flick. Make sure you are jumping too. Keep trying! thanks for watching.

Probably the best video to learn kickflip (I've watched a bunch of them)! The explanations are excellent, with the important details. Thank you! Plus the music beginning at 5:40 is so cool!
I always have a problem with my flick sometimes the board doesn’t spin and all and goes out forward and looks like an Ollie I really need tips on spinning the board plz respond
Maybe try sitting down and doing some kickflips. That might help you figure out what you need to change without having to jump every time you try. Hope this helps!
Had this problem, when u ollie you use the side of ur foot to slide but when kickflipping use ur toe. Or when trying to flick you are kicking with your leg instead of just using your ankle to flip it.
Cheesy Mac sounds like you have your shoulders turned. If you watch my varial flip video you will see that you have your shoulders turned and it helps the board spin. With a normal kickflip you want your shoulders to be square with the board. Hope this helps!
I just watched this video probably for the 5th time. Tried a few on the carpet board and got a couple decent flicks, really focusing on the ankle and not the knee. I think it's starting to click in my head now! Maybe soon when everybody at work says "do a kickflip" I can actually do it. But I'm only a few months in, relearning at almost 40 yrs old, I got time to practice.
