I don't think Sony could do a proper good story without Marvel at all, but the least worse idea would be to pit their villains against each other - maybe someone plays them and hope that they will destroy each other. Or have someone hire them to do a job, a heist or Suicide Squad style.
Even after the Sinister Six's continued efforts, Knull's forces have managed to invade Earth. The King in Black watches his enemies as they consider what action they should take next. not their televison department. the film side is hit or miss, but the television department has been really well done and i;m excited to see Spider-Noir.
I think you're right about Tom Holland, most insiders have said that he (and Marvel) wants to take the series in a more street-level, mature direction and have Kingpin be the villain. However Sony wants a repeat of NWH and is pushing for a world-shaking event and unfortunately I get the impression that Knull was always intended to be the main threat in Spider-Man 4 if Sony gets their way.
Yeah I think street level film is better than another world shaking event again. I prefer Spider Man to team up with Daredevil fight any gangsters or crime lord such as Mister Negative or Hammerhead or villains that we never see that Spidey fought before in the movies such as Scorpion or Kingpin. Yeah I think Tom Holland is working hard to make the new trilogy to be take on mature direction and Kevin Feige agreed with Tom. I don't know understand why fans are such assholes to each other these days. Doesn't matter who wins, let hope for a better Spider Man trilogy to come.
@@TheFunnyGuy9000 Tom Holland is a horrible actor and even worse Spiderman. Maguire was on point, Garfield was really good, Holland along with Zendaya are the worst duo by far.
@@GreggNowhereyes I could do without more Spider-Boy. Even if he’s not going to be Stark tech Spider-Boy anymore, I’m ready for a more gritty and grownup take on Peter Parker now. We’ll never get that from the MCU. I don’t think we’ll get more interesting Spider-Man movies until we’ll after the MCU finally gets wrapped up.
I saw it. Yes it was better than the first Tom Spidey film, which straight up sucked. And we are presumably done with the Stark tech suit and Mr Stark wide eyed acolyte stuff, which as bud totally weird to me as someone who did read Marvel comics as a kid. I’ve seen enough of Tom as Spider-Man and the tone of the MCU to know that this take on the web slinger isn’t ever go to be a favourite. Pessimism and loathing is very exaggerated and dramatic language. Tom Holland is not indispensable to Spider-Man. Maybe you disagree and think Sony and Marvel can’t do without him. That’s fine. He seems like a nice guy and his movies have been very successful. But he needs Peter Parker more than the character needs him. He’s still not really scored any notable box office hits for outside of the MCU. He was likeable in Uncharted, but basically the same as he is in Spider-Man. Not exactly a breakout star making turn for him and I assume that a sequel would cost more money and make less.
Please for the love of God let MCU Spider-Man be street level. I would gladly welcome a movie where he teams up with Daredevil and other street level heroes, then a forced team up with Sony's Venom. 🙏
I wholeheartedly agree! I much rather have Sony leave Marvel Studios to reinvent their own version of Venom - have the relationship between MCU Peter Parker and the Symbiote being built up through the course of the next trilogy for the MCU Spider Man trilogy (specifically for Spider Man 5 and 6), this way it’ll generate a lot of hype for the fans wanting to see a proper Spider Man vs Venom film yah know. Pace it similar to what The Spectacular Spider TV Show did. It’s not that hard….but Sony….ugh!
a sad movie where Peter is alone and struggling a lot, then he finds the symbiote but he doesn't lose it by the end of the movie. In the mvoie we would have a team up of black suit spidey with black cat, a girl that keeps spidey company but leaves Peter alone. While dealing with the Kingpin
Sony's Sinister 6: Dakota Johnson Jared Leto Kraven the animal lover Rhino El Muerto Stolen MCU Vulture The villain: Knull This is exactly what I wanted. Thanks Avi Arad.
That’s what’s been alleged based off what some of the cast of Spiderwoman have said/posted in the past. Apparently Dakota even fired her manager/agent after Spiderwoman.
They literally own the rights to all spiderman related characters. If they cant use peter parker and have to make movies to keep the rights, they could make a live action movie about Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen or 2099. 2099 would be easy because its in the future so they dont even have to worry about continuity. Instead they gives us Kraven, Morbius, Madame Web and 3 Venom Movies, none of which have spiderman
The contract with Disney must be ridiculous if they cant use any of those options or the countless others like Ben Riley and May Parker, but it seems like they cant even say the name Peter Parker. Agent Venom does look like a spiderman and would be a good option, but who knows if they're even allowed.
They could've used so many other Spideys that aren't Peter Parker (or connected to him). 2099 and Hobie Brown would fit the gritter setting and help stand out from the more lighthearted MCU Peter Parker.
When people say "Oh, this superhero has a great rogues gallery!" is doesn't mean those characters are necessarily good on their own- it means they're good as a part of and in conversation with the character they oppose. Like, Kraven isn't a compelling character because he is on his own, he's compelling because he's a force that fights unconventionally and puts Spider-Man on a back foot where he has to think different or resort to tactics he otherwise wouldn't consider
Any character under the right treatment can work on their own. Just look at Peacemaker. Nobody, NOBODY, ever even heard about him, but thanks to James Gunn, he turned into a big title for DC. Spidey villains are always changing as well, just look at Venom, he was meant to be just a villain but he became a big antihero (even if he hasn't got a good adaptation at that). It's all a matter of quality, if only Sony knew what that is...
@@radrno7you definitely right but at some point would it be better just making original character? like when the character is obsequre enough to not have marketing potential and need to be altered enough that it become standalone. for example Kraven unlike character like Venom has iconic design that would get people to watch the movie(like me, my only exposure of venom was the ps1 game and ultimate spiderman on ps2) because Venom just cool but for Kraven you need to alter him a lot to be a standalone movie that lead to sinister six movie without spiderman, like at that point why not make original IP "loosely" based on spiderman and his character and start off fresh?
@@HandOn-c40009 That is just a matter of adaptation AND exposure. Venom is only as famous as he is because almost every version of Spider-Man has him, mostly because of the symbiote suit story. If Kraven was more present in Spider-Man media, everyone would know him. Just look at Vulture and Mysterio, both in multiple cartoons, games and movies, that's what Spidey rogues gallery should be getting. Keep giving them more spotlight and audiences will grow interest.
I had a idea to turn all the Sony spiderverse movies into Blumhouse horror films, and tell the stories from the pov of a detective or beat cop. Imagine Morbious as a vampire horror movie played from the POV of Tyrese character. You make it for like 10 million, keep the Spiderman rights, and let an indie filmmaker takes some risks.
@@st1cklr If you watch The Venom short film "TRUTH IN JOURNALISM [BOOTLEG UNIVERSE]" or "THE SPIDER | Horror Spider-Man Fan Film", That's the tone that could work. Wouldn't cost Sony any money to make. Low risk and high return.
That's the concept that McFarlane has been talking about doing with Spawn for over a decade. Anyways, Sony Pictures? Indie filmmakers? Risks? This company is literally unable to make a good movie. Everything they make wreaks of 30+ executives being picky and overly controlling until the "product" is whittled down to a nub. There is no such thing as creativity in a sony movie.
This would be perfect! 🤩 Imagine madam web as the villain of her own R-rated story where she kidnaps or tortures people to affect the future. This would be amazing. I don’t think Sony would ever do this but it’s a great idea and one I would love to see happen.
@@MisterSketch4 Or if Madame Web simply followed the Final Destination idea, but had her team up with Tyrese detective character and she's a psychic consultant, and they were hunting the scorpion or something. It doesn't have to be anymore extravagant than that. You could make it for under 10 million.
Disney's never going to allow a direct connection to the Sony-verse outside of an offhand joke (which is only there in exchange for getting something they really wanted). The MCU is already in a bad place, they aren't going to connect it to an even WORSE received series of movies. There's literally nothing to be gained, and everything to lose.
For a guy who has caused so many issues with Spider-Man you’d think he already would be gone I mean he’s responsible for killing the Toby trilogy, Andrew’s chances at a franchise, AND LITERALLY EVERY ISSUE WITH TOM HOLLAND’S SPIDER-MAN. Oh and every Sony Spidey spin off. So sick of his bs man
The only 2 good things Avi Arad has ever contributed to the Spiderman films was suggesting Spot as the main villain of ATSV and Vetoing a love triangle story between Peter, MJ and Doc Ock in Spiderman 2
I have no idea why Sony just doesn't concentrate on Miles Morales. Have Peter Parker in the MCU. And Sony have Miles Morales in the Sony verse. He's already cemented in Sony due to the Spider-Verse. It would make sense to have a live action Miles Morales. And have the Symbiotes cross with Morales.
Avi Arad, but also they likely have some contractual thing with Marvel Studios (Due to their deal), if Sony was able to use a live-action Spider-Man in these terrible films they would have shoehorned him in everything, but they couldn't even name Peter Parker in Madame Web.
@@david88464 Yeah its really weird that they cant have ANY Spiderman or even reference him. Miles, 2099, Gwen, Ben Riley, May Parker and so many others they could use but dont and it must be because of an airtight contract with Disney that really screwed them over. I guess the next logical option is Agent Venom, who at least looks a lot like a spiderman for trailers etc, but who knows if they even have the rights for that.
literal recipe for instant flops we are sick and tired them trying to replace peter with miles colgate kid is straight up boring especially with entire selection of additional powers
I hope Spider-Man 4 is street-level and sees Spider-Man team up with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and that movie is to Avengers: Doomsday & Avengers: Secret Wars what Ant-Man and the Wasp was to Avengers: Infinity War & Avengers: Endgame.
Super smart idea to throw Andrew back in the mix with old school villains of his past. But I would think Garfield is smarter than to gamble with Sony at the wheel again. I honestly said the same thing for Tom Hardy, before he was cast as Venom..
Garfield has stated in many interviews many times he’ll come back only if the script and everything is right. So I doubt he’ll come back to be in this universe but if they back up the brinks trucks who knows 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
If Sony is dead set on making their Spider-Man adjacent universe, they should just let Lord and Miller run it. They've made the best Spider-Man movies. Also, they really should do a street level Spider-Man and Daredevil vs. Kingpin as soon as they can. Vincent D'Onofrio is 65, I don't think he's going to play Kingpin for that much longer.
I feel No Way Home gave Sony so many new options with Maguire and Garfield. They could keep Holland with Disney, and do whatever mad goofy idea in their own universe. Basically sell guns to both sides. They could even cast a brand new Peter Parker like, Josh Hutcherson.
Sony fucked over Tobey and Andrew they likely wouldn’t come back unless Disney was involved. The best I can see if them making a May-Day movie set in Tobey’s universe that vaguely references the original trilogy.
They should just make The Amazing Spider-Man 3, set it a decade later from 2. This way we finally get a fully experienced Spider-Man on the big screen.
Exactly and I’m tired Tom Holland’s version and the bright colorful MCU. Andrew can have quips but his universe otherwise should be more serious. Not dark, just serious. There’s a difference.
The first two “Amazing” movies sucked and Andrew Garfield’s “too cool for school” take on Parker was completely anti-canon. Sony should just throw in the towel on superhero movies at this point
I’m still hoping Marvel gets full custody of Spider-Man eventually. people want Phil Lord and Christopher Miller to be involved in future Spider-Man projects, and I’m starting to see why and agree with that.
i want a tom holland spiderman movie where the villain is a tom holland spiderman villain. not a villain that was created out of something Tony Stark did and spider man inherited Tony's beef, or a villain that was put in his universe from a different spider man's universe.
Exactly! They've done nothing to actually build up Holland Spiderman's world. No Oscorp. No villains of his owns. His love interests are boring and don't matter. Took him an entire trilogy to finally understand what it means to be Spiderman. What a waste.
@@DavidMartinez-ce3lp the whole understanding to be spider man thing has always bugged me. like why did tom holland's spider man even became spider man in the first place?
@strongbone9471 Well, that skipped over his origin in Civil War in a way that suggested he already learned Uncle Ben's lesson. Then they never let him actually be Spiderman until the end of the 3rd film. They kept acting like he never learned the lesson. It wasted the trilogy.
@Maitch3000 it was petty clever skipping his origin story? That's like having batman's parents die in the third film as a way to show him understanding what it means to be batman. What was the point in him even becoming batman in the first place?
Spider-Man 4 should be about the Vulture, the Scorpion, and Black Cat. Just say Vulture got blasted back to the MCU somehow, don't worry about it. We all need more Michael Keaton in our lives.
Low key I’m actually hopeful Sony keeps Knull in their universe and away from the MCU. The less they interfere with the MCU spiderman the better. Then they’ll make their terrible sinister six and it’ll bomb and hopefully that’ll be the last nail in the coffin and they’ll stop that universe, maybe just focus on live action spiderverse stuff.
What Sony needs to do is stop trying to force a cinematic universe. Especially if they’re not willing to even put the bare minimum to plan it out. I mean these guys have actually complained about not having enough heroes or villains to work with and I’ve seen several series from yesteryears that beg to differ. I’d love to see Goddard’s script finally see the light of day but I have feeling even if the stars did align in a way to make it possible, Sony would still backseat drive it into something borderline unwatchable. Honestly it would probably work better as an animated film since it’s inspired by the traditional done-in-one annual issue. But they seem dead set on it being live action and the culmination event of different films.
I just want to see MCU’s Spider-Man 4 be Peter in a street level story of him verses Scorpion and Kingpin, with maybe Black Cat (played by Sydney Sweeney), that would make me just the happiest Spidy fan in the world
Is there anything Sony COULD do to win me over? To be annoyingly philosophical, that is up to Sony and I think THEY'VE made the answer clear: no. The honchos at Sony cooking in the live-action kitchen have made it ludicrously clear that they are INCAPABLE of producing anything that can win me over. They just can't do it.
I think Sony want the Knull cameo to lead into the next Spider-Man movie, I don't think it'll happen, but I'd say that was their intention when they added it.
They don't "want" to make these movies. They contractually need too. They keep the rights with them based on the contract that was signed when they purchased the spiderman movie rights. End of the day, these movies will always be mid to dogshit because they are tax write offs while serving the purpose of keeping the rights on their side of the court. The cost to make a flop or to lose the rights is a no brainer.
My theory is that they are going to do a final fight movie in the future using some characters including the ones we have currently with the main villain being knull. Heroes/anti heroes: Venom Kraven Morbius Madam web Vulture (if he stays in long enough) Spider-man (maybe) Villain Knull Characters I would like to see Green goblin Tinkerer Lizard Prowler Miles morales Doc ock Sandman Electro Mysterio Scorpion
So glad cap mentioned his subscriber goal for about seven seconds. He literally caught my attention long enough for me to realize that after watching for four years, I hadn't subscribed.
Huge fan of your channel! Small request- Could you make a video about something you unabashedly love soon? The last couple have been about things you don’t particularly care for, which is cool; yet, I appreciate your insight about why things work Just my two cents!
I honestly don't get what they're doing and how they're failing so hard... How is it possible that Venom-verse and Spiderverse are from the same studio?
In my honest opinion; Knull the Symbiote God, Lord of the Abyss, King in Black, Venom's "Thanos" should have appeared in 1998. One decade exactly after Venom.
Thank you for addressing these concerns. I would so love to see them bring Andrew back! This “Sony verse” is so cringey! Good job on this video. Avi Arad needs to be fired soon! The worst part is they’re also heavily focused on trying to repeat whatever seems to be a success. Like right now they’re stuck on imitating NWH. However they fail to realize that what the fans loved about that movie was seeing three different Spider-men share the screen together because they were all versions of the same character who multiple people were invested with, but these other teams from the more recent movies are just characters who’ve been thrown together. It’s not the same and it never will be. Sony desperately needs to bring Andrew back! Either that or focus on a different Spider character!
Do they not have the rights to do live action Miles Morales or Spider Gwen? They should've just done a universe we're theyre the main hero and then you can do some mainline Spider Gwen or Spiderman movies with villain movies maybe sprinkled in
I would like a Miles Morales movie like the PS4 game Introduce Miles in Spider-Man 4 and have Knull be the Miles Morales villain with Peter in the movie like Ironman was in his
i've never seen the Spider-Less Spider-Verse movies, i don't think there's anything they can do to get me interested. introducing a Spidey (Holland or Garfield) this late in the game would feel desperate.
I just want Sony to give the rights over man. If they don’t care to make a good movie, then I don’t care to watch it. And even, these characters don’t work without spiderman
Sony should've greenlit both a Raimi Spider Man 4 and an Amazing Spider Man 3. Release them close to Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, gives them a specific part to play (while being it own thing) and becomes necessary viewing for what going to happen in the Multiverse Saga.
Don’t kill off Tobey and Andrew in secret wars. Also I’m tired of required homework. Nothing can be standalone anymore. I’m fed up with cinematic universes.
No , there’s no Sony villain movie I would want to see at this point ! They’ve already lied about Spiderman tie ins several times now! I don’t believe anything they’re selling . I’ll stick with the MCU
Honestly, while I like all of Spidey's villains, I only like them because they're *Spidey's* villains. Much like Disney's live action villain movies, I have no interest in these characters outside of the context that makes them interesting: Being Spider-Man villains. I also hope Spider-Man 4 has fuck all to do with the Multiverse. The MCU should just let that idea die already.
What to do with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4? Just have Peter trying to balance studying with his patrols, struggling to connect with people till meeting this world’s version of Harry. One night on patrol he runs into Black Cat and/or Prowler who were hired by Fisk to do various crimes. Later on he teams up with Daredevil. They take Fisk down. Close the film with a final swing to lead into Doomsday/Secret Wars, with a tease of the MCU symbiote sneaking its way onto Peter’s suit. What to do with these Sony projects other than Spiderverse? Just stop. It clearly hasn’t been working.
The TASM universe needs to be brought back. Have that be Sony’s universe where they can have an established spider man and also do their villain spin offs as well.
I'll just never understand Sony's thought process in all of this. There was nothing wrong with making stand alone villain movies. But you have to understand that they are villains. They are bad guys. Not anti-heros. Let Kraven be a psychopath who hunts people cause he's bored of hunting animals, then attack his father's enterprise cause he dared to stop his hunt. Have Morpheus be a tragic villain. He craves blood and kills innocent people and slowly loses his mind. Let Venom actually eat people's heads off. Let the bad guys get away so you can feel all the more better when Spiderman shows up, tries to reason with them, beats them, and gets them arrested. Also, put in the effort to hire good writers and directors who love/respect the comics and characters. And if they're scared they're not gonna make their money back by making them PG13, there are ways around the rating or just make it R. It all just seems like a money laundering scheme with how badly produced the Sonyverse has been. It really is an enigma in film history.
See this is where you are mostly wrong but it isn't your fault because adaptions not wanting to adapt Venom properly has utterly warped the public's perception. In the source material aka the comics Venom and Morbius are not villains, sure both started that way but Morbius is a anti-hero that is a major part of the Midnight Sons, (which included Ghost Rider, Blade and Dr. Strange) while Eddie not only has spent most of his life as a character as a good guy, unlike Morbius Venom graduated to full heroism. How good is Eddie? Eddie in Marvel comics is worthy of Thor's Hammer and being Captain Universe, they two biggest good guy honors you can have in Marvel full stop. As for the R rating, while I can't strictly speak for all Morbius comics, (I mostly read Venom) Venom comics as befitting a Spider-Man spin off character never got a mature rating. The whole biting heads off ins't even a Eddie thing its a Mac and Flash thing, as Eddie refused and ate chocolate instead. (Though aside from that, the design and of course no Spidey due to skipping to the Venom comics proper they are remarkably faithful considering Venom doesn't get adapted well normally) As a Venom comic reader these movies were a delightful breath of fresh air, I haven't fully enjoyed a video based adaption since the 90s cartoon. (As while Ultimate Spider-Man would fix a majority of their mistakes with Venom after introducing Agent Venom, Harry, Anti-Venom and the different things they do with Carnage bring the show down)
You nailed it. Sony only has access to use these edgy fringe villains but they also want their movies to be as marketable as possible, so you get this weird tone where it’s supposed to be scary and dark but nothing scary or dark happens because the movie has to be PG rated so they can make more money and it ends up being boring like Morbius or unintentionally funny like Venom or just a mess like Madame Web. Unless the executive side of Sony completely removes themselves from the creative process they will never make a good film with these characters. Never. Let’s hope at some point they give up and sell the rights to more competent film studios.
@@cactusface6404 Are you serious? Fringe? Dude not only has Eddie been a good guy for more of his life, he has outsold Spider-Man. While the Midnight Sons were also a popular team (Morbius isn't a villain either) Just because you don't read comics and/or they were before your time doesn't make something fringe. Venom isn't dark because the comics they were adapting aren't. Instead they are quite goofy, especially when written by Larry Hama.
I'm fine with the king in black event on TASM's earth. They already have a space for a "maker" character. It would be nice to see them go back to the more angry Spidey meet a venom that's more buddy cop than rage monster
Making an Agent Venom movie with a new creative team would be a perfect direction to take this franchise. They could bring Chris Zylka back as TASM Flash and give him a great story.
Even if I didn’t enjoy Let there be Carnage very much and didn’t even bother to see The Last Dance, I would go headfirst into an Agent Venom movie. I know it’s not very likely, but I would love it. And even better if it takes itself seriously and goes the opposite route as the Eddie Venom ones.
i genuinely think a post-tasm 2 sinister six movie could’ve worked had they kept them villains. protagonists don’t have to be heroes the same way antagonists don’t have to be villains. so i think making it a movie where spider-man is the antagonist, but simply a heroic one, would’ve honestly been genuinely interesting. especially had h acquired the black suit, and it fed on his negative emotions after gwen’s death, which made him more violent and agreessive, which would’ve made him feel like more of a threat to the sinister six.
i know people probably wouldn’t like the idea of “the black suit saga” playing out in a movie where spider-man isn’t the protagonist, but as someone who thinks spider-man 3 did the storyline better than people give it credit for, showing the negative effect it had on morality and his personal relationships, i think a movie where peter is at his lowest and most isolated (and so it would be harder to show the negative effect the symbiote has on a personal level anyway) would be a great way to explore that story but without peter himself taking center stage
I do feel like Knull is meant to be like the Thanos of the Sony spiderverse, he's not being set up as the villain of the next movie but as the big finale that the Sony movies are moving towards, though if that is the case I think it's unlikely we'll ever see it happen. Also everyone was down on Morbius, but he's pretty much the one character other than Venom that could really work, Morbius has been as much of an anti-hero as a villain in his comic history, and to be honest I feel like whilst it didn't do well at the box office, Morbius has become a sort of cult classic thanks to the "it's Morbin' time" meme, other than the Venom movies it's one of the only SSV movies people talk about.
Seriously, make ASM3 please. I'm one of those weird people that liked those movies. They're flawed, but the best parts of them are really good in my opinion and I did in fact like Garfield's Spidey. Just let it run parallel to MCU's spiderman, the same way The Batman will exist parallel to the DCU's Batman. Audiences aren't that stupid, they won't get confused. More importantly, everyone likes Spiderman and is down to see more of him.
I really wish they had gone with the R-rated Venom movie clearly Hardy, as well as fans, wanted. I think that's primarily the reason why Venom 1 was a big earner. Fans wanted to see him as the character, and they seemed to be taking it seriously based on the trailers.
My general thoughts: 1: They HAVE to do a Sinister Six movie, pitting the team of SSU villains against one of the three live-action Spider-men. I think what's worse than making all these bad movies is having NOTHING to pay them off with. If they want to reboot the SSU, they could even have the Spider-man who faces them kill all the villains off, so that they don't have to worry about the negative baggage those villains have given the studio's superhero movies going forward. 2. Just make TASM 4. People want it, and it sounds like Andrew Garfield wants it too. 3. Bargain with Disney for the ability to have their own Miles Morales. I think a fresh, new Spider-man live action series, especially with the deaths of the old SSU villains as I've proposed in the first idea, could give Sony a new starting point for a (hopefully) successful Spider-man series. Making it street-level, directed by Jordan Peele, would be kinda cool (and hey attaching a horror director to Spider-man movies has worked in the past, with Sam Raimi!) 4. If any of these fails, just negotiate for a higher cut of royalties from Disney-produced MCU movies featuring Spider-man. They sound like sure bets and is realistically the only way Sony makes money off the character moving forward.
I think of a Garfield led spider-man who befriends Miles Morales. The remaining piece of the venom symbiote latches to Peter, Peter rejects the Symbiote, latches to universe appropriate Eddie Brock, Pete team up with miles, Deus ex Machina, defeat Venom. Peter passing the torch to Miles with emotion. The symbiote is dead. Or is it? Cue Credits.
I understand what Sony is trying to do. They're working with what they have the rights to. It's easy to forget that in 2008, the MCU only had access to what were b-tier characters in broader pop culture at the time.
Is there anything Sony could do to salvage these villain movies?

I don't think Sony could do a proper good story without Marvel at all, but the least worse idea would be to pit their villains against each other - maybe someone plays them and hope that they will destroy each other. Or have someone hire them to do a job, a heist or Suicide Squad style.
I doubt it, but I'm all for them continuing to try and fail - #rootkit #neverforget
Of course, but only if they hire good writers and keep their ideas, instead of forcing bullsit on them that looks good in the trailers...

Nah, connect them to Tony Stark for umpteenth time.
@@AurumEtAes you clearly missed the last Spider-Man film and get off on your own pessimism and loathing but that’s okay 🤷🏾♂️
The Marvel committee have already gone
Naw. We're past that. Go watch spectacular spiderman or something..
i’m afraid this ship has already sailed
Sony's Sinister 6:
Dakota Johnson
Jared Leto
Kraven the animal lover
Rhino
El Muerto

@@SuprousOxide I don't care either way because its Sony.
9:28 didn't they even trick some of their stars into thinking they were in an mcu movie? most notably dakota johnson
more likely hollywood stars don’t care enough to know those kind of stuff and they simply assumed they were in the big cinematic thing
That’s what’s been alleged based off what some of the cast of Spiderwoman have said/posted in the past. Apparently Dakota even fired her manager/agent after Spiderwoman.
“Morbius I’m just a blind paramedic and we’re out numbered what are we gonna do?!”
“It’s morbin time”
They literally own the rights to all spiderman related characters.
@@HandOn-c40009
That is just a matter of adaptation AND exposure.
Not every character needs a movie or series, but that doesnt mean that it cant work. Peacemaker, moon knight, Andor are all amazing
Superior Foes of Spider-Man would be a good place to look at in the comics for a Spider-Man villains story with minimal Spider-Man in it.
I had a idea to turn all the Sony spiderverse movies into Blumhouse horror films, and tell the stories from the pov of a detective or beat cop. Imagine Morbious as a vampire horror movie played from the POV of Tyrese character. You make it for like 10 million, keep the Spiderman rights, and let an indie filmmaker takes some risks.
this is actually a super cool idea

Oh and every Sony Spidey spin off.
So sick of his bs man
Yeah but they also mistreat their animators
The only 2 good things Avi Arad has ever contributed to the Spiderman films was suggesting Spot as the main villain of ATSV and Vetoing a love triangle story between Peter, MJ and Doc Ock in Spiderman 2
Better idea
Give up and sell the rights back to Marvel after Spiderverse 3.
The smartest thing they can do is give up and sell the rights back after Spideverse 3.
#IBlameAviArad

I'm willing to bet part of the conditions of the contract is that Sony can't use ANY Spider-Man in live action. Not just Peter Parker Spider-Man
@Eidlones yea. Sadly I feel that's the case. Venom vs Spiderman would have made a billion.
Sony should just throw in the towel on superhero movies at this point

i want a tom holland spiderman movie where the villain is a tom holland spiderman villain. not a villain that was created out of something Tony Stark did and spider man inherited Tony's beef, or a villain that was put in his universe from a different spider man's universe.
I think of NWH as Holland's origin story. It was actually pretty clever skipping the uncle Ben stuff, which had been done to death

What Sony needs to do is stop trying to force a cinematic universe. Especially if they’re not willing to even put the bare minimum to plan it out.

With Rino already teased in the Kraven trailers, I think they are still in love with the Sinister Six concept

They don't "want" to make these movies. They contractually need too. They keep the rights with them based on the contract that was signed when they purchased the spiderman movie rights.

Huge fan of your channel! Small request-
Could you make a video about something you unabashedly love soon? The last couple have been about things you don’t particularly care for, which is cool; yet, I appreciate your insight about why things work
Just my two cents!
Spiderman villains are only interesting when written to bounce off of Spider-Man, or in a deeper way, mirror Peter Parker in a way.
I hope the Spider-Man noir show with Nicolas Cage is good
I honestly don't get what they're doing and how they're failing so hard... How is it possible that Venom-verse and Spiderverse are from the same studio?
I wonder if they are still working on that Aunt May solo movie
In my honest opinion; Knull the Symbiote God, Lord of the Abyss, King in Black, Venom's "Thanos" should have appeared in 1998. One decade exactly after Venom.
He does seem a product of that time. All that pointless 90s teenage angst and edge in shape of rockstar looking villain.
I'm waiting for the superhero movie version of Heavens Gate to finally just kill this genre for a while
Thank you for addressing these concerns.
I subbed with ur last Spider-Man video :) GL!
Do they not have the rights to do live action Miles Morales or Spider Gwen? They should've just done a universe we're theyre the main hero and then you can do some mainline Spider Gwen or Spiderman movies with villain movies maybe sprinkled in
They should've just made an Agent Venom movie that's loosely connected to the Amazing Spiderman movies using the same Flash Thompson actor.
I would like a Miles Morales movie like the PS4 game
Introduce Miles in Spider-Man 4 and have Knull be the Miles Morales villain with Peter in the movie like Ironman was in his
i've never seen the Spider-Less Spider-Verse movies, i don't think there's anything they can do to get me interested. introducing a Spidey (Holland or Garfield) this late in the game would feel desperate.
I just want Sony to give the rights over man. If they don’t care to make a good movie, then I don’t care to watch it. And even, these characters don’t work without spiderman
It really doesn’t matter how you look at it, using Knull as anything less than an avengers level threat is just a complete waste of his character
I finally figured out that captainmidnight sounds exactly like Collin Robinson from what we do in the shadows.
This is far too logical and reasonable for Sony to ever consider it.
Sony could win me over 1000% if they just sold the rights to marvel.
The TASM universe needs to be brought back. Have that be Sony’s universe where they can have an established spider man and also do their villain spin offs as well.
Kraven is gonna BOMB bro lol
Probably
We want to see Peter saving cats from trees, not beating mulitiverse cosmic gods that are in the make-up chair for hours.
(Though aside from that, the design and of course no Spidey due to skipping to the Venom comics proper they are remarkably faithful considering Venom doesn't get adapted well normally)
As a Venom comic reader these movies were a delightful breath of fresh air, I haven't fully enjoyed a video based adaption since the 90s cartoon.
@@cactusface6404
Are you serious?

I'm gonna guess Sony makes the wrong choice
i genuinely think a post-tasm 2 sinister six movie could’ve worked had they kept them villains. protagonists don’t have to be heroes the same way antagonists don’t have to be villains. so i think making it a movie where spider-man is the antagonist, but simply a heroic one, would’ve honestly been genuinely interesting. especially had h acquired the black suit, and it fed on his negative emotions after gwen’s death, which made him more violent and agreessive, which would’ve made him feel like more of a threat to the sinister six.
i know people probably wouldn’t like the idea of “the black suit saga” playing out in a movie where spider-man isn’t the protagonist, but as someone who thinks spider-man 3 did the storyline better than people give it credit for, showing the negative effect it had on morality and his personal relationships, i think a movie where peter is at his lowest and most isolated (and so it would be harder to show the negative effect the symbiote has on a personal level anyway) would be a great way to explore that story but without peter himself taking center stage
I think they should’ve reboot Spider-Man being in a new actor or a new Spider-Man from a different universe. And make a trilogy off that.
I want to see something big-small. Small town/local spider man. Something clever. A good script.
If Sony was smart they would just build up to the 6 in spider man 6
My general thoughts:
1: They HAVE to do a Sinister Six movie, pitting the team of SSU villains against one of the three live-action Spider-men.
Making it street-level, directed by Jordan Peele, would be kinda cool (and hey attaching a horror director to Spider-man movies has worked in the past, with Sam Raimi!)
4. If any of these fails, just negotiate for a higher cut of royalties from Disney-produced MCU movies featuring Spider-man. They sound like sure bets and is realistically the only way Sony makes money off the character moving forward.
Can't wait for the post-credits scene in 2028's McG-directed summer superhero romcom, Hydro-Man.
"Maybe if Kraven is a big hit"..
😂😂😂
I understand what Sony is trying to do. They're working with what they have the rights to. It's easy to forget that in 2008, the MCU only had access to what were b-tier characters in broader pop culture at the time.
Don't forget, prime's spider-noir with nic cage! I'm looking forward to that
I feel as if the Venom movies were carrying the SSU. Now that they're over (?) I can't see the universe going forward
