    Never tried finn but I tried these DHT blockers and my body did not like them. Labido and energy were cooked. Lost a lot of the anger from past events in my life. I always used that to fuel me to be better. Just felt way too mellow and unbothered by anything and on top of that, took too much to get it up.

    I first used finasteride in my early 30s (I'm in my early 50s now). I started noticing my hair thinning in my early 20s while still serving in the Army. I had significant receding of the temples and thinning in front and on top. It surprised me since my dad hadn't lost much hair. There is so much snake oil stuff out there. While in college I bought special vitamins and a massage brush that was supposed to stimulate growth. It only marginally helped. In my early 30s I went to a free consultation at a hair clinic since I was kind of interested in weaves. The owner met with me and evaluated my hair. He showed me the material they use for the weaves and said that since I still had a lot of hair up front that it would have to be shaved down before a weave could be attached. He tried to interest me in transplants instead. I first heard about finasteride around this time also and decided to go to my GP doctor to get a prescription and try that. Since it isn't covered by insurance I had to pay it out of pocket, and believe at that time it was around $50 to $60 per month. I stayed on it for several years and it definitely filled in some hairs on top as well as slowing/stopping any further loss. It didn't help very much with the frontal and temple hair loss though. I got tired of paying for it and stopped for a bit and then my hair started shedding again really bad so I restarted it. I never really had any bad side effects from what I remember, but I started worrying about being on it indefinitely so I started researching natural treatments instead. It's extremely rare, but one of the really severe adverse health risks is a rare form of an aggressive prostrate cancer. You'll see it mentioned in the small print of your prescription paperwork. That scared me so I stopped taking it altogether around fall of 2022. Now I take a pumpkin seed oil capsule daily (natural DHT blocker), use a derma roller a few times a week, mix a couple of drops of rosemary oil in my shampoo, and am using topical rogaine foam. It all seems to be working since I am not shedding and my hair seems to somewhat stabilized.

    There is a pretty good study, where they check what would happen with DHD if Finasteride would be 0.2mg instead of 1mg. And magically DHD is as low as it would be on 1mg

    • @et5740
      @et5740 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Scalp dht is different though. That’s what actually matters. Finasteride stops improving at 1 mg daily though, dut seems to be dose dependent potentially even beyond 2.5 mg. 1 mg fin is equal to 5 mg in terms of scalp dht reduction

    Also, watch for amphetamine based medications. Longterm amphetamine use can often lead to hair loss/thinning. They say this isnt common, but its more common than people think. Most people dont correlate their hair loss with the medications they're taking.

    I have been curious about trying fin but am too scared to try because of some rare cases on ED, and low libido. I also don’t want it to make it harder for me to conceive if or when I decide to get married.
    I know Ashton Kutcher was on Duetasturide and became concerned with being able to conceive on a podcast, so I feel it might be a cause for concern.
    So far I have a very thick head of hair and still have my juvenile hairline, but it is in the back of my mind on whether I should get a prescription and see.

      @@ascended266 you're gonna shed very soon after 2-3 months. I was on that drug for 3 years and felt terrible even at 0.1 mg. Libido equals enthusiasm in life that's how males operate. DHT is a hormone where you feel good for putting in effort in something. Listen to andrew huberman. You are destroying your potential and happiness and energy in your limited youth. I now have a hair system and noone notices. You will feel more alive when you get off the drug. Trust me. And you will enjoy the company of women more. You are not really feeling it. You wont notice any difference in the first 1-2 weeks of stopping finasteride since it builds up and has a slow half life although not nearly as slow as dutasteride. The changes you felt were most likely the result of being in a new/fresh environment. The reality is everyone has side effects when significantly inhibiting DHT, but most people (the lucky ones) wont notice until they come off completely. All the people who claim DHT is useless are terribly mistaken. Also the finasteride dose response curve is such where there will be an insignificant difference in benefit/adverse affects above about .2mg daily. everything above that is essentially meaningless increases so going from 1mg to 0.5mg is essentially the same thing. My advice if you've been on for more than 5-10 years just accept that you're never going to get off. GL!

    *Finasteride can also cause Gynecomastia in a minority of people.*
    This is because when you take it your testosterone increases because its conversion to DHT decreases by 70%.
    This sounds good in theory, but if too much of that testosterone converts to estrogen it can cause gyno (breast tissue in men).
    Like I said, very rare this could happen, I just think it’s important to know if you care about having an aesthetic physique.
