Thanks for watching!
As a 40 year old who has lived in Mexico my whole life....yeah THAT sound brings back memories, and my gen is probably one of the last ones that can pretty much guaranteed to have driven one/in one at some point, either yours or a friend for whatever reason, and that model you're driving fixes the 2 main things I that always stressed me out about driving these, the character building brakes and the "yeah that's probably in gear" transmission, the vagueness of both elements always unnerved me. I feel like I did something as a car loving dad in that my 2 kids, who have never ridden in an air cooled VW both would LOVE to drive a classic VW bug, and they know full well I'd teach them to drive cars with "that lever you keep fiddling with".
Hi, Mr. Topher;
I actually learned how to drive, in an original VW Beatle, when I was 23, years old; before moving to
Paris, France.
All the very best,
Shaun🦉 of NYC🗽
Your buddies commentary is great
Chris, What a missed opportunity, I expected the frunk to be full of watches. 😉
I think they called this paint color: "Savanna Beige". Such a beautifully restored, cool, fun car, it brings back memories of my sisters 1970 Formula Vee bug that I used to take (and passed) my drivers test with.
On the same day Regular Cars posts a video about Herbie. Some automotive stars certainly have aligned…
What a gorgeous example. My mom drove a bug back the 1960s - it had a factory-issued folding canvas sunroof. As little kids my brother and I would take turns laying in the small deck behind the back seat, staring up through the back window. Though I have never owned one, there is a purity to the Beetle that I will always admire.
If only it was bright yellow 🐝
My father had a few and a Bus, in fact my mom learned to drive in a 65' baby blue bug.
Please we need to see you film your dad's FJ cruiser
I love the noises this car makes. I've never owned an air-cooled VW, but this seems like a pretty nice one.
The smaller window at the front of each door are called vent windows.
The old is always Gold.
Great Day. Herbie on RCR and another bug on this channel.
There was one Beetle in my area on sale and it looked so nice. Like it has custom wheels, beautiful red color and lowered. It looked nice, unfortunately someone had bought it and it’s no longer there. I wanted that car :(
Guy has an absolute pristine beetle but doesn't know all the controls?
I would take this over a lot of the new cars.
Very nice, id like to get a 74 super beetle.
Great idea, great VW.
My uncle had one of those. Great car!
It makes me think of lou reeds songs and roadtrips awesome ride
i have a 70 model, lots of fun though the gearbox is a bit cranky, it likes to crunch when going into 2nd gear most of the time
it appears the one in the video has a different gear ratio because mine gets really high around 40 mph in 3rd i usually shift to 4th near 45
The crest on the steering wheel means it was manufactured in Wolfsburg Germany
oh man I love the 911
A classic vehicle awesome
Request: 2001 Nissan Altima
Cutting up the old school Altima
New Topher video? My week is made!
I wish automakers would bring back the quarterglass :(
Reminds me a lot of Herbie from The Love Bug movies.
I thought this was a Tedward video when I clicked on it lol
My Great Falls Green GTI and ND2 are always welcome for you to drive next time you're in the Bay Area. ❤
hell yea
Try to find a white 1963 bug and you can say you are driving herbie
Never been this early
1:28 Porsche, not Portia.
It's a german name that's how you pronounce it
is the engine stock? whats the horse power?
good❤😅😊
I'm glad he called out the rubber steering wheel cover at 25:00, that would drive me nuts. I do like the color, but there's something about the stance that looks off to me for a '66, perhaps it's the wheels.
The 66 model year had flatter hub caps. Not the rounded caps this car has.
