I installed the Racechip GTS w app on my 2020 M2 Competition and what a difference. I was hesitant at first but These guys are for real. I have tuned many cars with flash tunes and they are more customizable but this piggy back unit out of the box is impressive. If you want extra power(70hp to 90hp) without going beyond the safety parameters of your car then you can’t go wrong with Racechip

Schleppleistung Stock 73,3 mit Racechip 92,1 ist schon ein echt viel! 100-200 Stock, Schaltpunkt bei 6.200 und mit Racechip bei 6.800? Entweder könnt ihr es echt nicht besser oder ihr versucht die Leistung zu pfuschen! Der M2C hat mit Racechip nichtmals annähernd 500PS. Die Tankfüllung unterscheidet sich auch etwas, sollte aber nicht den großen Unterschied bringen. Achja und noch eine Kleinigkeit, wir müssen uns für unsere Sprache nicht schämen!!!

Manual tuned M2C’s manage to do 100-200 in 7,3 s. The conditions arent optimal but they aint too bad, u shouldve done it 8 s at least

I'm quite sure you can hear the difference in power on the dyno before the tune and after. Absolutely fascinating.
You guys also pretty much sold me on this car, just need to wait a year or two before I can actually afford one...
As for other modifications, what would everyone recommend? I've never tried to get high HP numbers out of anything but American muscle cars. And I've heard German-made automobiles are typically harder to get power out of, since the manufacturers do a much better job of optimizing performance in the factory.
Pretty much depends on the amount of money you're willing to spend. I guess Downpipe and SW tune would be a good start to reach nice numbers without spending too much money. Put some additional meth injection to it and you should be ready for war;-)
I have an M2 LCI not competition.
My stock did 11.5 and now between 9.1 to 9.5 100-200. With IAT in 30 degrees Celsius
I’m stage 2 MHD tune with DP & FMIC.
This should be low 8’s

Hi I’m interested in a moderate power gain for my M2 comp. did you do any runs in setting 4 or 5? What bhp would you expect on this setting?
Mein M2 VLCI mit Speed-Buster Box, Downpipe und LLK macht das in 8,3 Sekunden. Mit 500ps müsste der das in 8 Sekunden hinbekommen.

Why does the boost kick in later after the softwareupdate? Under 2800rpm the torque seems to be lower. I could understand that with bigger turbos, but its just a software upgrade. Shouldn`t the torque graphs be complete parallel and not cross? (.....Power too!)
This is actually caused by the fact that you need to be very careful with the throttle at the start of the run or you'll get traction problems on the rear tires which makes the run invalid. The 250 rpm head start of the stock torque and power graph hence is simply caused be the fact that we didn't manage to get exactly the same "launch" on the dyno for the two runs. Meaning, on the actual road the graphs would start on the same point.
9.4 is shocking for supposedly 500+bhp. Should be low 7’s minimum

Naja also irgendwas kann da nicht stimmen. Serie 10.8 und mit 500ps 9.4 von 100-200 ? Vielleicht solltet ihr das Messen nochmal üben. Ein Normaler M2 ist genau so schnell Serie, teilweise sogar schneller. Mein M2 Competition mit Stage 1 und 507Ps fährt 100-200 in 8.0 Sekunden 😉
Mit der Serienmessung liegen wir ziemlich genau im Bereich der anderen verfügbaren Messungen (siehe z.B. th-cam.com/video/r9j2TytFu70/w-d-xo.html ). Ich denke, man muss abwarten bis die ersten Messungen mit Sommerreifen und bei besseren Bedingungen reinkommen. Auch wir werden unsere noch mal wiederholen, da es während unseren Messungen geregnet hat und die Straße nass war, wie im Video erwähnt. In dieser Leistungsklasse kann das durchaus Auswirkungen auf die Zeiten haben, da man bei nasser Straße auch oberhalb von 100 km/h gewisse Traktionsprobleme hat ;) Sofern du von deiner Messung ein Video hast, poste das doch gerne mal hier rein, würde uns auch interessieren!
@@RaceChipChiptuning Ein M2C fährt Stock 10s glatt. Wenn da im Sommer keine besseren Zeiten rauskommen, stimmt da was nicht.
Ja wenn sogar ein M140i mit stage eins, acht Sekunden fährt dann ist das hier echt schlecht

@@DACHFENSTERGURU Er meint wahrscheinlich den M140 von OK Chiptuning. Das ist aber nicht wirklich ne S1, sondern S2. Mehr geht nämlich nicht.
Rumor has it it is purposely limited detuned to make the other m's look better.
Rawknee Salami it's also airflow restricted. so you need a tune and intake + intercooler upgrade. otherwise you'll lose power due to the heat
Is this available for the newer 2020 model? I heard the ECU had some changes which it is harder to access

I installed a JB4 last week and immediately had issues. Car went on limp mode. Contacted them but looks like they don't have an updated firmware for the new M2C. Returned the JB4 and now looking for more options. Still looking for an answer if Racechip GTS works for the new M2C.
Richie Miranda JB4 same piggy back concept as racechip?These guys are adamant it works as doesn’t interact with ecu. May be a non issue for me as tempted to sell the car anyway!

That's why I ordered the JB4 and two BMW mechanics re did the installation and same issues. Limp mode every 1-2 minutes. Someone at JB4 told me it was because of issues with the Rev connect kit... which they didn't have a update as of last week.
I was getting drivetrain malfunction and then immediately car went on limp mode.
Maybe it was an easy fix with an update but BMS support personnel was rude.
Richie Miranda I’m skeptical racechip will work then on latest firmware. I tried to map mine and had same error plus fuel pump issue (it remained permanently on). I’d actually steer clear of remaps for it unless you can just bench your ecu which works. I know in the UK they do it frequently. Seems the only way. Good luck anyway bud.

So I have a 21’ M2 Competition. Just got it. I’m in the USA. I’m guessing the racechip is a canned tune. And if I need warranty service you can take the tune in and out. What was the hp & torque increases? Thanks.

You should get much better 100-200 km/h numbers , m2 comp with stage 2 tune with downpipe get into high 6s
For the stock 100-200 km/h, some other Channels measured roughly the same time.

This is the EU-Version of the M2 Competition, so it is equipped with an OPF/GPF (Gasoline-particulate-Filter) which is restricting the performance a little bit. The US-Version is not equipped with an OPF/GPF.
Without catalytic converter (Downpipes) and OPF/GPF, high 6s times should be possible, however it would not meet the emission standards anymore. Currently we are working on an TÜV Certifaction for the M2C with OPF, so the installation is 100% legal and emission neutral.

up to 504ps. normally up to 477ps in 5stages of 7 is guaranteed for city riding.

Why were you short shifting? You were shifting around 7k when you can take it to 7.4-7.6k that’s why the 100-200 was slightly slow.
On the m2 with dct short shifting at around 6800 will lead to better acceleration, as proven by many owners.

Hi Mattia, since our products do not touch the manufacturer ECU, we don't offer a VMAX delete unfortunately.

how reliable to the car general well being is a chiptunning modification? can it cause damage to the engine or transmission?
As long as you make sure to take care of your car (service intervals, don't floor it while oil temperature is low, …) there's really not much to worry about since proper tunings are developed with daily driver usage in mind. How is this performing now? I have a 2020 M2 Comp but can't use a remote remap without benching my ECU, can you use this on M2 Comps with latest firmware?
Of course you can use it on your M2 Comp with latest firmware, since the ECU remains untouched with our tuning modules. The RaceChip gets placed between the ECU and the motor sensors where it takes the current driving data from the ECU and optimizes them in real time accordingly to the driving situation. The RaceChip has a processor by its own and the software on the ECU will not be overwritten.

C63s, zum M2 selber müsste die Zeit zumindest knapp unter 9 sek. liegen alles andere ist etwas zu schwach für die eigentliche Leistung.

Does it have a phone app to change the power settings?
The product with our app feature is coming soon for the M2 Comp., but you can change power settings on our normal RaceChip GTS Black via a display on the chip itself.

RaceChip I wondered what torque the manual box can take in comparison to DCT
It really shouldn't make much of a difference if you have a manual transmission or DCT. They both can handle pretty much the same ammount of torque. These parts that BMW is building in their M cars can handle a lot more power than the car has in stock.
I have a manual M2 competition and put it on the circuit for the first time yesterday. I notice a big gap between 4th and 5th gear and acceleration suffers until revs build again. Does the Race Chip tune solve this ? I’m also interested in your comments on how much power/torque difference changing the rear exhaust box will likely add on top on the race tune
Hi Steve, the gap after shifting to 5th gear will be pretty much closed by the increased power and (more importantly) torque. So yes, installing a RaceChip will definitely improve the issue.
The Akrapovič exhaust on our M2 Competition doesn't have a relevant effect on power and torque output because the cats and (in Europe) OPFs remain stock.
