      Hey guys, quick question. Since the panels are OLED and flexible is it possible to obtain a pressure mark on the screen? I recently shipped my phone to a repair company who specializes in glass only replacements and they told me the repair failed due to preexisting pressure marks on the screen caused by shipping... they returned the phone to me with a black spot on the screen. Wouldn’t that be indicative of them using too much heat while removing the glass?

    I appreciate this video you guys have for us to repair our own phone. I have a Galaxy S8 and had taken it to a repair shop $455.00 and my thought then was just trash it and buy another phone. Until I saw your great video and I purchased the parts and replaced them myself. Total repairs were $175.00 and it looks like a new phone. WORKS GREAT!! THANKS AGAIN ‼‼💯

    Very impressive video. Easy to follow, no missing steps. My S8+ is as good as new (except it didn't turn into a 5G). Made only two mistakes. Put a screw into the wrong hole at a lower level so the upper component wouldn't quite sit low enough and one of the upper screws wouldn't go in because it's hole was already occupied. Took about 8 minutes to solve. I also didn't realize that the copper piece sticking out of the earphone jack was supposed to stick out. So I goobered it up a bit before realizing that it was okay to stick out. Then, when I got it all back together, my corded buds worked fine for listening but the mike didn't work. Fortunately, I was able to move the copper piece into the correct position with angled tweezers (just like the ones used in the video) and all was well (without having to take the dang thing apart) - whew! Now I just need to attach a tether so it can't fall out of my breast pocket into my swimming pool the next time I lean over for some dumb reason.

      “organic active matrix organic light emitting diode”
      If it’s double organic, does that mean that it’s organic…ism is canceled out, meaning it’s no longer organic? So that means that it is inorganic, meaning that it’s is an LED display, and therefore LED LCD’s can be curved. Holy fuck I should be a mathmagician I just solved science.

My s8 plus has damage to screen, the bottom half responds to touch while the top half of the screen does not. Would just replacing the screen itself fix the issue or do I need to do what's in the video to fix it? Thx.

    the reason you remove the mother board and the camera, is it only to be sure that those are not damage by the heat???
    if i'm looking carefully, it's seem like you may be able to do it with removing everything from the back cover until you can remove the battery.and keeping the mother board. am I right?? is there anything I forgot that will make it impossible to do so ??? you might want to remove the camera and sensor to avoid scratching them when removing the front glass. but that' it
    I disassemble mine, and I'm waiting for the screen,, I reassemble the mother board
    thanks

    If it weren't for the glue holding the front and back on, the only disassembly to replace the screen would be the screws holding the upper antenna assembly.

    Does your phone maintain water resistance after performing this??? I ordered a Mid-frame for my Galaxy S8+ because I scratched it and I want to keep it in brand new condition so we would all like to know if the device would still hold the IP-68 status?

    Does anyone know if a G955F LCD complete with digitizer, will fit a G955FD?

    • @Repairsuniverseusa
      @Repairsuniverseusa  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The without frame version with just LCD and Digi should be fine, but with frame won't work because F is for single SIM and FD is for dual SIM

      I bet I'm really late to this question but here is a link I found I think it is a typo but if you look a replacement amoled with black frame is only $62. I jumped on it because they are easily $280 and I have bought from these guys before and they have great products. www.etradesupply.com/samsung-galaxy-s8-plus-series-lcd-screen-and-digitizer-assembly-with-front-housing-black-without-logo-grade-s.html

      John Baskerville it would be better to just replace the whole thing since it's a pain to separate the glass and screen without damaging the screen

      just get a whitestone dome protector as its glue fills the crack and protects the screen , not cheap but cheaper than a replacement screen

    Damn you make me want to try it even though it ain't broke, everytime I try this sort of thing I fix the screen I break something else. Did it the other week fixed screen and punctured the battery, it worked but it stinks like it's going to blow my ears off. Got a genuine battery it was as dead as a dodo. So then had to get a non genuine one, good quality and it works good but the cable is millimetres out of line, it just goes on.

    Where do you get the replacement screens from and why does the repair shop want 300$ to do this?

    • @Repairsuniverseusa
      @Repairsuniverseusa  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can locate the screen replacement here on our site www.repairsuniverse.com/lcd-touch-screen-digitizer-assembly-for-samsung-galaxy-s8-plus-black.html Pricing just varies on the repair shop. This device is on the more expensive side to repair as the screen currently is priced for $299.99
