Love SPI, Tx especially the clean and warm water in the beach, been walking around in the early am. Very safe, not crowded and the views are really cool. The place is definitely a must see. Thanks for sharing.

When you're walking out to the beach in the first part of the video. Is that open to the public? I'm thinking about going there early next month.
Yes, there are a bunch of public access points that are all open along the road that go out to the beach. If you've never been there before, you can't go wrong parking at Clayton's (where the video ended). They are right on the beach and have food, drinks, and restrooms. 💙🏖️

My favorite aspect of SPI vs beaches I've been to in Cali, Florida, the Caribbean, Kenya or other places is its simplicity and accessibility. Free beach access points every couple blocks with free parking areas. Also, with Texas open beaches act, all beaches are public domain. That made a trip to Destin with roped off sections of beach and signage everywhere off putting, though an absolutely beautiful beach. I've seen more spectacular beaches in other places of course, Aruba or Jamaica come to mind, but for overall enjoyment, SPI is hard to beat when I just want a relaxing no fuss beach getaway. While being Abe to bring my own vehicle, BBQ on the beach, fish the surf or bay, and just do my own thing.
From videos I've seen of Padre Island usually the water isn't calm or isn't that the case?
I'm not sure. I don't recall any of the times I've been there being super rough, but it probably varies. 😎

The video was filmed in May. I'm guessing not a lot of people were out because it was earlier in the morning. 🤷🏼
