I was here back in 2007, a good friend of mine use to live here year round. I loved it, went fishing everyday, caught a bunch of red snapper and took them to the local restaurants and they would cook them up for you for a very measly price. Very cool place
I once lived in nearby Harlingen, Tx and would drive to the beach every chance I got! I really enjoy South Texas, Corpus would be another great drive!😊
The sunsets are awesome at one of the East side restaurants. The house bands, not so much. There a half a dozen park/parking spots on the west side with beach access.
It's worth a visit for sure!! But imo, I like Port Aransas better.......1 it's closer to Houston than SPI and 2, it's more of a small town feel......SPI feels more transient to me.

Dirty Al's has some great seafood. I go there for their cajun shrimp every time i visit.
