I love that the writers have kept Jay’s character consistent with his moral code but portray his struggle with teetering the line of right vs wrong. Unlike before when he tried to hide things from Voight, this time he came to him honestly. Major character growth.
I like seeing Jay battle with his conscience, everything isn't black and white for him anymore. Great development in character. Voight being that "dad" .

this episode and this scene just made me cry. this scene just shows there relationship that has been growing since season 1. people always say Jay is turning into Voight, but Jay is his own person. he has never strayed from his moral compass, and Voight knows that about him. their relationship is just *chef kisses* 🥰🥰

I love all 3 of the Chicago shows!! the relationship between all of the cast members are as if they are all related like brothers and sisters in real life and on the show
these conversations between voight and the team when they talk about their personal struggles, conflicts and dilemmas about their jobs are one of the best parts of the show imo. ofcourse the adrenaline infused action and the scenes in cages are the icing on the cake.
Jay is a trip. He used to ride Voight for not following the rules so to come to him to ask for "permission" to not follow the rules was manipulative. However, I LOVE Voight's response.

Voight had Lindsey as his number 2, Antonio as his number 2; Al was more like his partner which Adam is slowly becoming. Jay is the next one Voight sees as his number 2, a honest cop that doesn't do what Voight do. I think Voight is doing everything he can to keep Jay from going to a level that could cost Jay his morality. Jay lives by his morals. Voight wants someone like Jay to be the next leader.
I think that might be a hell of a ticking time bomb because they’re both pretty much the same character and someways I mean stapler did have a reputation for beating the crap out of perps
