I love how the girl at 2:35 can't stop smiling. It's like.. of course she can't - to be able to create technology like this, then see it work, successfully .... that's got to be such an amazing emotion. I couldn't even dream to engineer stuff like this. (Well, I'm not an engineer)

You know, Its a great idea building a robot where each company produces a specific part of it then a single company gathers the tech to form a single complete robot. As it seems some companies are good at making one thing but not the other and vise versa. This will greatly reduce the time taken for research in manufacturing complete complex robots for private ownership which will also reduce the price. Like a computer, different hardware and software parts come from different companies.
The blue tall thing running robot in front of a car in thumbnail is called "outrunner" I appreciate how this guy actually featured the robot shown in the thumbnail
I don't know, it might just be me, but i don't really think out runner really belongs on this list. It's essentially using the same rotational concept as wheels, only reducing the points of contact to 6.
I find it really funny how people in these types of videos go out of their way to try and make it seems like the military wont be strapping guns to robots or arent already
They should put the robot hand beside every public bin because people are too lazy to go over and put it in they could just throw it at the hand. Like if you agree!
Human beings are really amazing. They can invent so many kinds of robots, imagination and creativity. Since ancient times, they can use the tools around them to innovate continuously. This is also the reason why the human race can survive. I look forward to more intelligent robots in the future.

I bet there's already been a Manhattan Project style push for advanced robotics years ago, maybe decades ago. Boston Dynamics and the others are just the scrap technology they release for PR reasons. The populace needs to believe that tech (from cell phones to flying cars) is arrived at organically, while in reality it is suppressed/ball-balled, hoarded in classified facilities, and then systematically re-released for the masses with back doors, spyware, and soft-kill built in. PROGRESS!!!
I used to be very happy to seek out this video-channel.I wanted to thanks for your time for this excellent learn!! I positively enjoying every little bit of it and Ive you bookmarked to take a look at new stuff you youtube post.
The way they trained that arm at 3:30 I wonder if they'll have factory workers/other labor-oriented, repetition-based jobs wear a suit that grabs a bunch of data on their movements. Then they'll train the robots that will do the same motion/task. I was going to say your order is off but how do you compare a hand to a running robot so I guess it's not about forward movement speed in increasing speed.
Pretty upset that I keep seeing all these videos of advanced technology that we keep creating, while none of it is being used to improve our daily lives. WTF!?
What, you want your car to have legs capable of running only 40 km/h? How exactly would you implement any of these jack-shit expensive technologies in your daily life?
They should design a robot that can 1) mountain climb, 2) move quick through forest, 3) and equipped with thermal cameras for finding people who are lost at night. Probably add a massive air horn too. 4) maybe a laser gun too and rocket launcher. Er wait, i guess drones would be better at night vision searching.
Logo was pretty atrocious too, and their robot looks like an expensive toy at best. Didn't look like pacman either, I get the feeling someone sent over a script to shill with but the design was modified between them sending the promo pics and whoever was in charge of making the video was too lazy to change it.
OH, i just imagined that arm could get violent and slap someone around, but with a gun at hand! now that would put home protection to a new level! "Sir, please leave the vicinity, this is private property, if you do not comply i am sanctioned to use lethal force" (says a hand coming out the front door)
I heard about one person who wanted to kill many guys from his class at school, but couldn't because of the laws.A killing device which would kill them without traces. With a robot it seems possible. Buy one from a black market, and make the android waylay the target. PS The classmates were jerks.
I really never understood the drive to compete for records at algorithmic tasks. Solving a Rubik's cube fast is like getting good at RTS games - you could improve your performance by orders of magnitude by writing a simple script (of course that doesn't account for manipulating a physical toy, but you get my point). So what's the fuckin' point?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the so called "velociraptor" from Jurassic Park actually more closely resembled and was based on deinonychus, where the real velociraptor was small and not much of a threat (Crichton and Spielberg just thought the "velociraptor" name was sexier). Moreover, both are dinosaurs, not reptiles.
@@finalstarmanwd4739 Not really. You have to manually tell it what to do.
