As an Brit I thought his accent in LOTR was incredibly magnificent! I didn't know he was American until I did a bit of Googling! Saw him last weekend as Billy Bibbit in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest on BBC2 - seems like he's a pretty talented guy! :)
ouch... no more please good idea, but I don't want more MCU or any other movies or series until this correctness bs has stopped and we can get quality and not "make yourself feel good" actions.
@@elsakristina2689 I'm serious man, I've seen you in Frozen Videos (obviously), Gordon Ramsay videos, and I'm pretty sure I saw a comment of yours in a metal music video
Brad Dourif is a mesmerising actor, he has played some incredibly unsympathetic characters (think Clinton Pell in Mississippi Burning) in such a way that they are the characters you actually remember most. I would love to see him in a romantic lead though
"Ok Brad, we got a deal for this new movie." "Another Chucky movie?" "No! This is different! You whisper cursed advice to someone, and later stab the guy who trusts you a lot!" "So...it's a Chucky movie then?"
One of my first experiences of Brad Dourif has to be the Myst game called Myst III : Exile, man, such a character he played, he brought the game to life, the others were good and were making a really good experience to play the game, but all the scenes with Brad were awesome. I think to this day, out of the Myst saga i'm biased towards that game because of his role.
Same for me :) Everything started with Saavedro. Then i watched LoTR, then One Flew over Cuckoo's Nest although it was after several years that i actually found out that all these three characters have been played by the same person :)
He was amazing as Wormtongue... impressive performance, especially when he confronts Éowyn in her chamber... "Who knows what you have spoken to the darkness...?" anyway, whenever I hear Karl Urban's voice, I could start drooling. It's like thick honey.
Brad Dourif is one of those great character actors that will never get enough credit. Wormtongue, obviously, but also Exorcist 3, the X-Files episode Beyond the Sea, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Blue Velvet, and many others, those are just the ones I’ve seen.
I always found it so weird how all these secondary LOTR characters are played by actors mostly from England/Australia/New Zealand and then there's suddenly Grima Wormtongue who is played by an American...yeah. Brad Dourif is cool, but it's just surprising
There are not that many American actors who are amazing, sorry. Brits are typically not so caught up in the casting couch and being beautiful on screen. They are usually heavily trained and get cast for reasons other than popularity
Most underated actor.he nails every role.he tears up from the passion of his acting.man he was great in this exorcist 3 he was should've won a fucking olden globe.the evil and insanity and maliousness he put into that was something unremarkable.his voice was so terrifying his mannerisms.man.better than any a list big blockbuster star out there.and one flew over the cookus nest was also remarkable.
There is method acting, and there is Brad Dourif, where he knows going in and out of an accent never works. Just keep the accent but still have fun with the role. Practice makes perfect.
I've been in this business for 40 years and Dourif in my opinion is one of the best character actors in the industry....right there along with D'Caprio. The viet-kong piece in "The Graveyard Shift" is the funniest thing I've ever seen. My daughter and I are always pulling quotes outta there (our modification) like: "May be ,,,, I'm a little prejudiced" or "so warm, so juicy" or "Yellow Pages? ....THICK, with competitors"
Just like with Frank Langella ,for decades people would legitimately think he was a Brit because of his English accent in 1979 Dracula that they would even say to him at autograph sessions , so what part of England are you from, Mr. Langella?
Brad Dourif is an extremely underrated dude.
One of my favorite character actors. He's got some phenomenal scenes in Deadwood.
@@atomic_wait The scene where he's praying and crying about the Father was very moving.
He can't be that underrated, he's Oscar nominated.
Brad was the most underrated, and possibly best, performance in the film, he was fantastic.
Brad Dourif is underrated period. He deserves more credit for his work.
He did a great job and good casting
Is. He's not dead yet ;)
Luther Boggs !
Shows Peter Jackson doesn’t prioritize good casting.....Jack Black? Adrien Brody?

How was your weekend? 😊
It's been almost 20 years and I'm still not over how good that accent is.
Brad should have gotten an award for this role. He was so good, I didn't see an actor playing the character but the character himself.
Christopher Lee and Brad Dourif are both actors strong in the Horror genre.
2:03 - It's so cool to see Gandalf, Theoden and Wormtongue palling around between takes. LOVE IT!
A little mead goes a long way.
If MCU will have an aged Loki somewhere down the line, Brad Dourif might just pull it off
ouch... no more please

Same here...….
That's a 10-4, good buddy.

Brad Dourif and Christopher Lee are both amazing actors!
They were shocked when they heard he was actually American, they thought his English accent was real

I met Brad at DragonCon once, years ago when he was promoting LotR. He's a very cool guy, friendly and fun to talk to.
Chucky : Gríma Wormtongue
Glen :Pippin Took
Brad is a Hollywood legend. So many great roles.
Brad was absolutely flawless in his role.
Brad Dourif is a mesmerising actor, he has played some incredibly unsympathetic characters (think Clinton Pell in Mississippi Burning) in such a way that they are the characters you actually remember most. I would love to see him in a romantic lead though
I love Brad Dourif , i like he was be famous like Tom Hiddleston Aka LOKI or Joker or someting like that.
lmao he thought brads American accent was fake xD I'm dying.
When he's talking about spitting, etc, I bet that interview was filmed during his Deadwood days. Holy mother I love Deadwood, and he was fantastic!
"Ok Brad, we got a deal for this new movie."
"Another Chucky movie?"
"No! This is different! You whisper cursed advice to someone, and later stab the guy who trusts you a lot!"
"So...it's a Chucky movie then?"
"Brad never left character or dropped his accent"
Brad: "You ought to see me with a .357 magnum."
Nah that’s canon
Fact= Brad dourif(wormtongue) and Billy Boyd(pippin) also in Seed Of Chucky as father and son_ Chucky and Glenn/Glenda
Wait
Brad seems like a real cool dude.
Indeed.

Mine was a VHS copy of David Lynch's 'Dune' from 1984, in 1999, Brad as Piter De Vries, a Mentat of House Harkonnen from Giedi Prime
He was amazing as Wormtongue... impressive performance, especially when he confronts Éowyn in her chamber... "Who knows what you have spoken to the darkness...?" anyway, whenever I hear Karl Urban's voice, I could start drooling. It's like thick honey.
It says a LOT about an actor when I sometimes go back and watch only his scenes.
It's Chucky's voice actor! :D
Lol Eomer knows whats up.
Some of the best performances in these films were from the antagonists, Saruman, Grima, denethor, and of course the orcs and uruks!
LOVE YOU BRAD DOURIF!! your an amazing actor!!!!
This order doesn't come from me.. it comes from the KING.

I reckon his playing of Piter de Vries in Dune 1984 helped with the evil advisor role
Love that hoarse voice: BRAAAAAD DOOOURIF IS WORMTONGUE

Well I never. Until this day in 2023 I hadn’t realised that Theoden was Yosser Hughes and Wormtongue was Doc’ Cochrane. You live and learn
Lol Karl Urban "would it be him" 😅😂
his english accent is so genuine its insane

Brad Dourif must have been filming Deadwood or something during these interviews. That's definitely the Doc's mustache
I love Brad's roles in LOTR and in Dishonored. Those are just perfect.

He's really good in Alien Resurrection too!!

Chucky is his most iconic character without a doubt.

Brad Dourif is fucking awesome! His daughter is hot, who co-starred with him as the main girl character of "Curse of Chucky".
Brad Dourif is the same actor that was Saavedro in Myst III: Exile (computer game).
Yaaay, Chuckyyy!! Brad is so good as Wormtail. :D
I didn't know he played Peter Pettigrew too!
I believe that was Timothy Spall who played Pettigrew.

@rayfipel Brad Dourif was also great in another bad film -- the Chronicles of Riddick. Worth seeing just for him, actually.
when brad has a mustash, he looks like a crose beetween my grandpa and one of my uncles.
